I always like to pretend that American History X is the sequel to this after Montey gets out of prison. I mean I know that Ed Nortons character in AHX has a different backstory, but its fun to pretend. Anyway this was an amazing movie, one of my favorites.

Spike Lee has definitely improved over the years, but he always makes the same mistakes in every movie. #1 - there is always some annoying speech that you know is really the voice of Spike Lee talking and not the character (in this movie the F-you speech near the beginning. #2 - he always messes up the ending and draws it out way too much and makes it overly dramatic. Overall, though still a good movie.

Damn good film. Captures exactly the feelings you go through before having to do a bid inside. Awesome performances by Ed Norton, Barry Pepper, Rosario Dawson, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Terrific song by Bruce Springsteen to close out the movie.
