Well not quite speculation. There is satellite and photographic evidence to suggest that heavy artilier fire and air power was used in the so called safe zones where civilians were held up. Spend some time reading the articles. Satellite images do not show mid air flights. They show damage caused by heavy fire and heavy bombardment, likely from the air- according to military experts. Further, the US has also been monitoring with their own satelites, which they also claim the same thing.

Well analysts have said that a lot of the damage could only have been caused by aerial bombardment (bomber jets). Since LTTE did not possess them, we can confidently say that they were SL gov jets. Secondly LTTE firing posiions were found within the safe zones, so its unlikely that the LTTE were firing on themselves. Yes, LTTE shouldnt have been there. But killing 20,000 (or at least 7000) to kill 200 cadres (gov figure) is not justifiable on any level.

You also claim that the conditions of the IDP camps are similar to concentration camps.
