No one will ever match the brilliance and passion of this greatest skater ever! His intensity, emotion and breathtaking performances will never be surassed. He may compete in the Olympics next time now that he is well.
he is ok now, but do you really believe it's possible to get back in shape after all that time out of competing.. plus, his injury is still there, even though he underwent the surgery. one cant possibly think its the same to skate with an artificial element inside of you or with a healthy hip..
He says he has trouble with some jumps because of the titanium hip; I can't watch enough of his footwork, arm movements and military programs - - but it's best to remember this level of skating, which no one has matched. Boitano didn't do well when he tried to repeat in a second Olympics. Plushenko is supposedly training now for the Olympics - -
W-o-w. So powerful, charismatic and expressive, so brilliantly executed. No other figure skater is in the same class as Yagudin. I disagree, though, that this is (by far even) better than the Iron Mask - they're both fantastic programmes only he could do.
He rocked this program here! He is one of the all time greats! Love Yags! Awesome jumps and awesome presentation! Close to the ultimate program for any skater...too bad he didn't save this for the Olympics--it was better than his LP for that year BY FAR!
He DID skate this program during the qualifying round of the Olympics - - perfectly too! He is the only male that I know of that was ranked first by every judge during the qualifying round, the short program and the long program in an Olympics.
@Zuranthium That could be - - it was a LONG time ago when I watched the video and I thought the person had labeled it "Olympic" qualifying program. I thought I read last year that because so many skaters want to compete, there us a "qualifying round" to reduce the number of competitors to 24 or so; however, maybe the short program is narrowing the number of skaters who are allowed to compete.
He always skated brilliantly in Canada because we loved him so much and he knew it!

@clgilray I think you mean the 2002 World Championships. There is no qualifying round at Olympics.
