  • Im rambling abit but Oscar wilde would say''Theres no good or bad, theres just the charming and tedious.''I dont know if i said that right.Im abit cynical today but like to think positve but i can understand this man wanting to get what he wants but crazy killing someone just for ambition ,power and greed

  • But killed the woman he loved just for money and power,he didnt love her enough to do that to her.He could of been happy with her and got a different job.Now he has to live with that guilt the rest of his life haha just a movie.Going off the subject i think the right path is too hard sometimes, you try and do everything right and what do you get more crap.

  • This movie reminds me of oscar wildes dorian grey, the old movie, the movies are completely different but both men will do anything to get what they want ,dorian to stay young as he gets older and chris for money and power.I also believe that luck does play in are lives. He could of done the right thing and didnt have to murder anyone but no one would watch the movie if he did.

  • Parler de débuter le jeu d'actrice dans son personnage est un vrai défi.

4 beaux acteurs parlant de "fate" & "hard work".

He bien la tentation devrait nous ficher une putain de bonne leçon à la fin du film.

  • Mmmmmm.. jonathan... <3

  • No, she's not going back to CO, ever.

Anyway, great film. Definitely in my personal top 50, and I've seen a LOT of films.

  • Jonathan Rhys Meyers is kinda sexy, especially when he´s being evil. Classy guy.

  • I dont think he got away with it. At the end his is childless, miserable, and he killed the woman he loved and his chance to have a child with her. GOD JRM is freaking HOT HOT HOT.

  • He has a child at the end. So he definitely got away with it. He feels a little guilty but he's still married, has a child, and someone else was blamed for his crime.

  • @pauliebistotallyboss Really? i thought it was chloe's brothers child? gosh I got to see this again.

  • @pauliebistotallyboss OMG its true, he did have a son, and they blamed someone else for the murder.... SHOCKED once again.... thanks. WOW

  • One of my 3 personal favourite movies and the only movie that ever got thinking about the purpose of life. This scene had a lot to do with the latter.

  • Agree.

And what have you written, so true...

  • Wow... just saw this... the movie was extremely suspenseful, especially after the climax, right until the ending. And, the ending was quite a surprise as well. All I can say is that movies aren't usually made this way anymore.

  • Matthew Goode...unf. Oh baby, baby.

  • @louangiebou Mmmmm, agreed ;)

  • nice match!

  • Scarlett Johanson plays an actress who is pretty, but not good acting.

Wow. What a stretch. She must have really had exert herself on set.

  • One of my favorite films ever and I love the "I think faith is the path of least resistance" line.

  • ive seen this before i hated the ending though the way he got away with all of that the movie is very good

  • Life doesn't always have a happy ending. I liked it b/c it was realistic. Sometimes the bad guys get away. If you didn't like the ending don't dare watch "Arlington Road". You'd go nuts.

  • A fine picture, hugely entertaining, but the fact that the pregnancy is ignored in the police investigation is a fatal flaw in the whole luck premise. The pregnancy linked the murderer to his victim giving a strong motive thereby making it a whole lot more difficult to get away with it. In real life the police would want to know who the father was.

  • Nola wasn't pregnant - it wasn't even recorded in her journal. In his haste to hold on to his good luck, Chris forgets to check that she's telling the truth.

  • What truth are you speaking of? Nola either had to be pregnant thus telling the truth or she wasn't and lying. If she wasn't pregnant, that posses a problem for the whole premise of the picture. Either this movie is about luck or its about the bad things that can happen to you when you try to deceive. I think Mr. Allen was going for the former rather than the latter.

  • Well we don't know Woody do we? It could've been anything. I disagree that there has to be some kind of fixed theme. If you look closer into Nola's personality, you'll see that her lying makes sense.

I meant "check if," not "check that": typo.

  • "the bad things that can happen to you when you deceive" - the entire tone of the film was amoral.

  • This scene explains the movie.
