kovalchuk is really underrated for a big time goal scoring sniper. The league always promotes crosby and ovechkin, when you should be hearing about this guy as well. Maybe if he actually played for a contender then we would be hearing his name more often I guess, his wrist shot is probably one of the best in the league.

You got that right.. I think this guy has the best release of all time, it get's off his stick to the back of the net within a blink of the eye. Alexander Semin might be the only player who can compete with him.. A lot would say Ovie, but if you watch closely... It's clear to see Kovie and Semin have the NHL's best wrist shots.

I didn't take anything personal from either player. Kovalchuck is a great player and his combination of finesse and big body playing is excellent. Definately a great russian star. I personally like Datsyuk's better.
