Ronald Reagan's approval rating was below 45% for much of 1983 (and 1982, for that matter), but beginning in September 1983, his favorability ratings improved within just a few months to over 50. I wouldn't bet too heavily on Obama's opponent based on current ratings yet. Still a long way to go....

@SuperPatriotMom first off, why have oil companies been holding on to drilling leases, in many cases, for decades. your comment about Brazil is wacky. secondly, there are NO solely owned American oil companies. they are multinational and are out to make profits. they have a self interest and that of the shareholders to compete on the world market not just in America. the only way to achieve what you are talking about is a government owned oil company to keep the oil we drill and sell here.

I didn't hear her offer any solutions, just criticism. If I remember correctly, it was a republican that wasted all of our money on the Iraq fiasco looking for the phantom "weapons of mass destruction". I believe that the mortgage crisis was also perpetuated under that leader.
