Since you're stealing George's song and dedicating it to your wife, I'd like to dedicate your dedication to my wonderful dog. His name is Hans, and he is a pug.
Now: I would also like to dedicate James Cameron's film Titanic to a parrot I used to have named Stevie. My shitty neighbor's pit-bull ate Stevie; that bastard dog. I dedicate Leonardo Dicaprio's ice cold death (you know, the end when drifts into the water and dies) to that murderous pit-bull: I hope he's in dog hell!
I dedicate this beautiful song in VERY loving memory of My Heavenly- Resplendent Wife, Barbra. Barbra, I pray and hope it is you, and no mere angel, who comes to take me to Heaven (to be with you Forever)! We were together for only two years before cancer stole you away from me. I miss you beyond words. I love you beyond Space/Time. Barbra Jean "Rose" Ragan (June 23, 1967 -- November 21/22, 2010). Thank you, My Barbra, and George Harrison, for teaching this world about TRUE BEAUTY and LOVE!
All I can say now, is that my belief in Bob Dylan as a songwriter has just 'shot up' --now, it's astronomical (after all, it was there, before). I thought for decades that GH wrote this song. It's a phenomenal thing, when a songwriter/singer writes a song that suits his/her intended singer so much. Sorry @randlec6 and @nafaidni, but, I HAD to KNOW. I hope you will forgive me for being wrong and needing to find out the truth. I hope we are still 'friends'.
@randlec6 *face palm* You were correct, and I was wrong I did more digging... How could I have thought that all these years? Perhaps it was because of GH's sweet melody. I don't know. However, I DO know, it's good to know that there are authentic YT'ers out there, like you, who persist for the truth, even though some of us are obviously ignorant., especially when we honestly don't know it, ourselves. Thanks, for helping me to get to the truth--tis ok that BD wrote it--I 'love' him, too.
@tomcardello Not a fan of Dylan by any means, but this is a fine song. George's ATMP version is one of the best songs on one of the best albums by any artist at any time.
Some people just have that something that takes your breath away. I was listening to this, reading comments, hadn't really looked at the picture, then I scrolled up. The beauty in this man's face made me gasp. George is my favorite Beatle, there's something about his face that pulls at you. He may not have been the 'cutest' Beatle, but the most beautiful, definately.
it's a song by Bob Dylan featured on his album New Morning. The song also appears on the compilation album Biograph as well as Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits Vol. II. The song was also covered by George Harrison for his 1970 solo album All Things Must Pass
@QueenBeatlesWings Actually, this song was written by George Harrison, and played with Bob Dylan for The Concert for Bangladesh, and several compilations after. Don't beleve me? Then look to the HBO special of George Harrison's life. A dialogue with Olivia, George's widow, confirms if. Or, you could go to Wiki Or, you could searh the internet for a real version of this song. I'm glad that Dylan decided to cover it. Peace
@nafaidni *face-palming*.... How could I have missed that? I did some (deeper) checking: you are CORRECT, and I am not. This IS a Bob Dylan song. What was it, about this song (other than George Harrison singing a great, non-BDesque melody) that led me to believe that GH wrote it? Thanks for the education, nafaidni. I'm in you rdebt. Seriously. I'm indebted to all who 'typed in'. Did Bob ever record this by himself? So, what is Olivia Harrison talking about, in the biopic?? Humbly, MWL
Harrison had s many wonderful musical friends. Dylan, Clapton, the other 3 Beatles, The Traveling Wilburies, etc, and so much great music was made by rock N roll royalty when Harrison was around because he was humble enough to bring people together as friends, not stars
"Ringo" fans.... In honor of Ringo's 70th, I hope U will check out my "RINGO"video. It's very retro with Beatleish touches & was done as a labor of love and with the utmost respect for the Fabs. My attempt at putting a little bit of the Beatle spirit out there for Beatle fans. It's also my tribute to George Harrison's slide playing as well as Ringo's unique style.
Yes, God bless George. I've always loved both George and Bob. Also, many people love Bob Dylan's voice as well as his poetry, with it's expressive quality and often, it's velvety smoothness. Listen to "Never say Goodbye", by Dylan as an example. Nectar. Why be nasty considering Bob DID write this song? This intro says: "This is a rare demo version of the song BY George Harrison", when the song clearly is not "by" George. Be fair please. Why insult when there should be repairs?
Yeah but there is a bootleg version of Dylan that came before that though I think. Anyways if you write the lyrics it's your song! I think George does a great job and maybe better than Dylan but it's still a cover.
This is a Dylan composition, but it's a George song - Dylan didn't release his version until 1971 on the New Morning LP after giving this song to George for ATMP.
I LOVE the Beware of ABKCO bootleg - I listen to it often. It's like sitting down with George as he runs through some songs. Wonderful! I miss you, George!
I listened to an interview that George did re the songs on this album. He said that Phil Spector had a tech set up a mic, which George was not expecting, and didn't really think much about it...Now it has turned into a wonderful remberance for his fans...wish I could find it somewhere.

Thank you for sharing these jems. I have been a Beatle/Harrison fan for 44yrs. Guess you could say I'm an old timer Beatles fan. I grew up with them, first saw them on The Ed Sullivan Show. What magic they had then and still have today.
Not to show you up or anything but you do know that "If Not For You "is a Bob Dylan tune. George did it so well on "All Things Must Pass." He reallly loved Bob. Anyway, thank you for being here. You're a jem.
All information on "If Not For You" that I have found, including you tube verifies that Bob Dylan wrote this song. This is the last time I will respond to your foolishness.
