love two strokes, i had a 400 back in the day, very quick when cold but not quite the same when hot, if they made 1000cc two strokes now days i'd buy one for sure.
Cheep thrills. They were fast but were are they today???? I still have the 1976 XLCH that use to get piss wiped ..Stock heads, jugs, lower end and trans. 2 rebuilds and years of use. Still get chicks who Love it..only take it out to special rides now a days. I'm almost 60.owned Flats,Knucks,Pan's Shovels Evo's and the First Twin cam. There is still no rice in my Garage.
or any ware on my property, with 2sons and 3daughters who ride.
WHY DOES EVERYBODY WITH THIS KIND OF BIKE ALWAYS JUST STAND THERE AND THROTTLE A LITTLE BIT LIKA A RETARDED TEENAGER WITH HIS FIRST MOPED. DRIVE IT SO PEOPLE THAT ARE REALY INTRESSED CAN WATH IT AN EJAKULATE. GOD DAMN IT...
Fine collection; which is you best loved ? I still recall the 350cc being a true little beast compared to the 400cc which was pretty smoother but pretty safer as well.
Owned a 500H1B in the late 70es:orange red and blue smoke did match great.
late night speed runs, bugs in your teeth, that was my life,I paid 40 cents for Sunnoco 260,My red Mach 3 cost me 1104.00.I use to pass on seeing my girl friend, some nights, just so I could ride the rocket. They were the fastest production bikes in the world,in 1969-1970
Very cool! I had a 1975 500 way back when. I remember well how she'd hit 4k and suddenly I was hanging on for dear life. And the smell of her...ah the memories...THANKS!
'Tis very sad indeed. Lucky me I live in a part of the world where two stroke snowmobiles are a quite common thing in the winters, so that I can get at least some of that good feeling :) And motocross bikes aswell, even though a lot of people are using fourstrokes instead... But take care of your nice little treasure! ;)
May I ask whereabouts you live? Not exactly, but just... approximately. :P
I am ethernal grateful to Kawasaki for them to come up with these sensational bikes. Had a 500H1B and a 750H2B myself. Awesome, what fun and performance!!
I can't decide which street bike I want more. A 750 Kawasaki, or a 390 Husqvarna with token "street-legal" gear. My dad's got a 360 Husky he uses for the street and it looks like a fun machine. Still has the MX suspension and tires!
a lil smoke ain't gonna hurt....I wanna go and protest a green peace rally one day with all of my buddies and our "vintage" 2 strokes....pull up 200 strong at an earth day rally and rev it up a few times, give the earth a rubber offering.....
You can only ride one bike at a time and the amount of time you spend on it per year is really insignificant...especially if you have as many bikes as 828cc has. I think 828cc must have gray hair just from deciding which bike he wants to ride next.
I`ve read thar the KH400 was a bit watered down compared to the S3 !! Maybe it had something to do with trying to meet emission laws etc !! There`s a guy restoring an H1 and he removed these quite sizeable bits from the transfer ports that Kawasaki added to quieting them down! His page is "hawasakih1" worth a look !! Peace Ye`all !!
Man, you are ONE...LUCKY....DUDE!!!! Growing up in the states in the seventies, (Indy) to be precise, these great Kawi 2strokers were EVERYWHERE. Now, you're lucky to see them at all. This takes me back to the glory days of the track during the month of May when the 500 infield was literally FILLED with two stroke machines. Thanks a ton my friend for bringing back some fantastic memories!!
Cheers, I'm really glad you enjoyed seeing my Kwackers, 2 strokes are becoming a thing of the past - check out my GT750 with a Piper exhaust. Did you get the Aprilia RS250 in the States? 130 mph from a 250 2 stroke, they will be a collectors' item in the future. Anth :-)
Believe me I heard that GT beauty, what a mah-cheen. The Aprilia, I'm sure available on either coast but not here in farm country. I shouldn't say that, it's available in Chicago I'm all but sure. Thanks for the idea. Since we're all broke over here, I might as well cruise to the windy city and pick one up. No big deal, I'll just get in line for a bailout!!!! LOL!!!!!

very cool bikes. I have a '75 H1F in my garage. Some year I will have it on the road. would love to get the H2 and the S1. Also started riding my old Honda CB350 Four just yesterday. Great fun, not a lot of power.
