now hold on, after years of neglecting infrastructure India is wasting its new found wealth. 400-500 new airports all over India? is he crazy? if you had to go to bangalore or chennai from hyderabad, you drive to the airport+check-in+actual flight time+checkout will be 120+90+45+60 = 315 minutes i.e. 5.5 hours, how long is it just to drive from Hyd to Banglore (490 kms)?

It's just exuberance and alcohol talking. He's being absolutely crazy, like you said.

While these major infrastructure works (airports and mass-transit systems) are really beneficial, India should also focus its resources on its agrarian economy and set better standards and controls to improve quality of agricultural produce to the consumers. Tonnes of food-grains rot in govt. granaries and people starve to death in Orissa, as we speak.
