  • Thanks Bruce for all those wonderful pictures you have helped to create in my mind. Helps me make it through the day.

  • Milan, MY HOMETOWN, has seen somwe great music! The people from Milan know real music! That's why The Boss keeps coming to Italy!

    :-)

  • This evokes both John Steinbeck and Hank Williams. Nobody could achieve this amazing syncretism except the Boss.

  • Wonderful, just to relax, and enjoy .... bruce is the best

  • Truly truly, one of Bruce's diamonds in the rough.

  • R.I.P. Danny <3 you are sorely missed on E- Street!

  • Beautiful!

  • Amazing!! Mansion on the hill - love you!!

  • Absolutely beautiful version of this "Nebraska" tune. And as country as the "E" Street band can get too - Nils on the Steel and Phantom Dan on the accordion - notice the nod to Ol'Hank in the last verse, as Bruce reprises the first line of the original: "Down here in the valley...". Great stuff, great stuff indeed.

  • I just love this live version of this song, beautiful...just beautiful...

  • I'm with you bulbhead. Love this song, still prefer "Live In NYC" version to this one though...

    somebody should post that one...pleeeeeeze?

    Mungling...

why do you say "Hawaiian music"?? That's odd.

  • I think this song being done with that magnificent steel is awesome, Bruce is brilliant. I'm so totally melted listening to it.

  • I am a huge Bruce fan but the Hawaiian tinged music is odd and does not at all appropriate the original. If it ain't broke don't (try to) fix it. Thank you for the post; I still enjoy most works he exhibits!

  • a jew on the hill.

  • If there's someone out there who can post the video of this song from the "Bruce Springsteen and the E street Band ~ Live In New York City" version you will be mesmerized by the acute harmonizing between Bruce and Patti. It leaves Emmy Lou in the dust...and I am a fan of hers as well. Check it out people. "Mansion on the hill" never had it so good as when Patti and Bruce were kickin it on ...live in NYC"

  • I agree. Bruce and Patti's duets are unbelievable. One of my favorite of their duets is Empty Sky. I think there are two on YouTube.

  • This is a beautiful song and Bruce sings it so well. He has written a very touching song. I also have it with Emmy Lou Harris singing it and she aslo does it pretty.

  • maybe i will listen again..and be more attentive

  • I totally love this song, almost brought me to tears. When Bruce does country, he's better than most country artists.

  • what the heck is this crap..though i was going to hear hank williams song

  • I thought so too, norst1, but I gotta tell you I was not disappointed. This is an awesome song, and I had never heard it before.

  • norst 1

that's a totally different song altogether. Just similar title.

scroll down on the right and you'll find it by Hank Williams. Bruce's is "Mansion on THE hill"...Hank's is "Mansion on A hill"

    Peace.
