@TeamVVV It looks to me like they improved the look of the dust trail your car leaves behind and raised the time it hangs in the air, and judging from the Gymkhana videos, they did the same for tire smoke on asphalt. Did the developers mention anything about this to you?

It certainly looks better than in GT5, where the smoke/dust completely vanishes seconds after they're created.

Narrow the stages, make them 3X longer, use physics from Richard Burns rally and i'll buy it. Its still way too arcadey for me.

@XysteRST205 your so right, the main point being narrow the stages, RBR had the most realistic rally tracks ever, rallying should be more about trying to go crazy speeds while on the edge of control, while you have only a foot or 2 of space between the sides of your car and a ditch, wall or trees!

my fav track in dirt 2 was mali alan pass because it captured so much great elements of rally and the infamous tight road on cliff edge style stage, i hope they have more of these type of stages

@XysteRST205 The stages can be much longer, longer than 3x. It is one of the things they are trying to promote about Dirt 3, this is just a short stage for the video I guess.

Also if you want a game like Richard Burns then you will be stuck playing Richard Burns forever. That game would not sell these days and you need to accept that.

@XysteRST205 Yeah the stages are waaaayy too short.They take about what 90 seconds to complete,and you have to put up with really long loading times.Just make a good rally game again with the WRC licence codemasters,and cut out all the other gimmicky stuff!

@nickxcore74 The problem is; codemasters aim for a mass audience to maximize profit so they'll always have something away from hardcore rallying. After having played this since release with manual gears and no driving aids its actually decent - Better than i thought but its still arcadey because of the wide/short stages. Maybe Codies could have a setting to narrow the stages in a future release for us sim lovers.

Is that it? That was the shortest rally track I have ever seen. Are there any long rally events like the real things or just short 1-2 minute things to keep the simple peoples attention?

I just hate what they are doing with racing games these days, especially rally games. Like WRC 2010 the tracks are soo wide you could race 2 rally cars side by side no problem, I do hope there are some tighter tracks and some REAL WRC tracks and events to draw in REAL racing fans.

Cars are just terrible, I couldn't stand it after just one race as the physics felt like you were driving a boat more then a car and the courses were wider then the Grand Canyon. I really hope that there are some reasonable length courses, at least 5 min long at good speed. Also, whats with the excessive lense flares? People don't see lense flares in real life, so I hope they are disabled in cockpit view. Graphics look good, but I still love RSRBR 2011 more than any other rally game out, and its graphics are not that great, but the courses are fantastic.

@Garrison64 I think that is a very good question, and was wondering the same thing. If every track is finished in less than 5 min, then that sucks. I don't need 30km tracks like on RBR Mods (but it would be nice to have at least one really long one), but those 2 min sprint runs are not what I consider true rally courses. Its probable that they won't do any real long courses, cause it would mean that the consoles wouldn't be able to fit everything into memory and still have the graphics.

this is probably the best channel to follow when you're looking for early in-progress game footage. F1 was not a let down, just finishing the 1st season with 50% and 100% races. While TDU2 was enjoying to watch, I must say that it isn't my type of game. Looking forward to DIRT3 and NFS:Shift 2 Unleashed
