I Just LOVE this piece of music,Ive met Joe Morello and recieved a 2 hour intensive drum lesson from him,Treendous Guy and Musician........Great Clip!!!
@wasian666 yeah this is like double speed compared to the album haha, i learned it on piano and first tried to play along with this version...yeah friken right haha super fast speed
Craven Filters or Craven A Filters were a cigarette brand. Cigarette manufacturers sponsored many TV shows around the world, until a bunch of serial complainers decided that it was bad to advertise cigs on TV, as it may corrupt children. Now we just have rap artists extolling the virtues of crack and marijuana, neither of which contribute money to the arts.
I actually like how they rush the trips and sixteenths a bit. Its a great live intensity. And.....yes, Desmond is absolutely effortless and exceedingly clever.
I think it would've been hilarious to see the bassist, Eugene Wright, put on a pair of the same styled glasses to see if anyone caught on to him. If the others accidentally caught a glimpse of it I'm sure they would've, at least, cracked a smile.
Struggling ?!!?!?! The Desmond is effortless in anything he ever played... if the comment was towards the expressions he made , The man had a sometimes stupendous lung capacity for the amount of smokes he consumed ...
these guys could do no wrong. I don't hear anything but masterful playing. This music and these musicians contributed moments in time that shaped jazz music forever. All my thumbs are up.
Fantastic! Besides the truncated Blue Rondo rendition on the Ralph Gleason program, this is the only other Blue Rondo version I've seen, except this one isn't cut off 1/3 of the way through. Great!
You think Paul Desmond, one of the living legends of jazz, is struggling? Man, I think you just showed 13,152 (which is the number of people that have viewed this video so far) people how clueless you are.
Paul Desmond was not only a legend, but one of the best alto saxophonists of his generation or any generation for that matter. I'm surprised that you don't your facts, so the only suggestion I have for you is to learn about jazz and actually listen, then you might learn something.
Nice to see Dave giving it socks

they play a bit too fast in my opinion, but desmond's solo is wicket. even compared to his other performances.

Great to see him play! The sax player is strugglin' a bit.
I got this tune as 6:44, from the album. That's a killer.
