We both got stuck. The Ford made it alot further than me because of 44's vs 39.5's and I had one locker, the Ford was locked front and back. I think the Ford could have pulled all the way through with a a better run and more wheel speed.

Started out in 4-high and 2nd gear, it began running out of power and RPM's so I had to shift quickly to low gear otherwise the motor would have just bogged down below it's power band and just quit (my motors never have enough power, I've had to deal with this before in this rig). Either way I'd have been stuck, figured if I'm gonna get stuck I'm gonna at least keep the tires spinning. Both axles high centered soon after.

you want your tires to spin that way the mud in the lugs get flung out and thus giving you more traction. this does not apply to everything though especially sand.

Oh yeah, I wanted to keep my wheel spin up. If I had more power and could have kept in in 2nd gear with the tires spinning at that speed I probably could have gone a little further. But these ruts were pretty deep for 39.5" Boggers even with only the rear axle locked. A friend's Ford on 44" Boggers locked rear and front made it further but I still had to pull him out the rest of the way.
