Though some of the engineers claimed the building could sustain the damage, this was merely out of their own confidence in the structure they had built, and only a three page report "detailing" this design consideration was ever found. The fact is the plane DID stand after the
(*building) did stand after the plane struck it. The key thing to note is that the effect of intense fires weakening the support structure was NEVER looked at in any respect regarding aircraft damage, and this is why the towers ended up collapsing.

Please get your facts straight. The plane that crashed into the Empire State Building was a B-25 Mitchell. A relatively small aircraft classified as a medium bomber. This aircraft doesn't carry enough energy to bring a large building down. Had a B-52 Stratofortress crashed into the ESB then the results MAY have been different.
Logic has been sunned and watered. The Twin Towers WERE built to withstand a hit from not just one, but several large planes (i.e. bigger than the 'planes' that hit them. FYI there were no planes involved. It was missiles and UFD's that brought those buildings down.

@creat3d Actually "Pull-it" has two meaning, 1. Its used to pull out fire fighters, and 2. Yes its a used as a demolition termed, but instead of explosives, large cables are attached to a part of the building it is pulled down. Not blown up

Firefighters were out of the building, and no such cables were attached (was that really the best you could do?).

Please get your facts straight. The plane that crashed into the Empire State Building was a B-25 Mitchell. A relatively small aircraft classified as a medium bomber. This aircraft doesn't carry enough energy to bring a large building down. Had a B-52 Stratofortress crashed into the ESB then the results MAY have been different.

Logic has been sunned and watered. The Twin Towers WERE built to withstand a hit from not just one, but several large planes (i.e. bigger than the 'planes' that hit them. FYI there were no planes involved. It was missiles and UFD's that brought those buildings down.

Must I really explain to you why the ESB is still standing today?
1. The Empire State Building had a tougher build than the WTC. 38lbs/cubic foot vs. 9lbs/cubic foot.
2. The ESB plane was 1/10 the size of a Boeing 767. 1/10 the weight and fuel capacity as well.
3. The ESB plane was flying in fog at 200mph while the WTC planes deliberately sliced in at 500-600mph.
Oh yeah btw, the ESB lobby got blown out when fuel went down the elevator shafts, as it had in the case of the WTC.

The ESB was not build stronger than the WTC. I even asked the director of construction for the Freedom Towers this and he confirmed that wasnt the case. I do not believe in the conspiracy theories about the government doing 9/11, but perhaps there was a bomb in the buildings planted by the terroist we didnt know about.
