Is Chico a baby? Looks like his wings are still growing. He's a rather splendid beasty. Crows are so intelligent. We once had a magpie. We rescued him as a chick from the the roadside. The windows were always open in our house. He hung around for years, He came back many times, he even bought his family over to meet us which was amazing! And no he never nicked anything shiny! but he did like cheese!
I dont know why anyone would want a nasty pet like that, if you were laying dead on the road he and his kind would eat you starting with your eyeballs
@reddog2007max It's the circle of life, when you're dead, that's it. You're pretty much useless. In Tibet, they dispose of the dead bodies like that. They leave them to the bird of prey, so that people can serve life even when they're dead. People live and at the end help animals keep their strengh and life, animals doing the same thing when their time has came. It's disgusting because we think of it right now, being alive. But, it's somehow beautiful, it's like being immortal.
hey u.....67tr876 something....u should first read some information abt crows....u would be surprised how intelligent they r....actually i believe all animals are more inteligent than people and u r example of stupid people 67 somethinng.....
I now refuse to such an idiot as Kuner, who on his page has "God Bless HItler" sheesh I expect to see you in my psychiatric hospital any day soon, don't bother to respond, I will refuse to converse any further with anyone who thinks it is cool to kill millions and starve and torture them, idiot!!!
@ThorgalsWalhalla, irony may take intellignece, I am referring to the nastyness not the irony of osme ocmments, again stop putting down strangers on a thread. Since I have 3 Degrees and am a manager in Mental Health I do not need someone to comment on my intelligence or the perceived lack of it. At the end of the day this lady has rescued a crow and has a fabulous relationship with it, good on her
Reading some of these comments I have to agree with alexwb.... as far as my opinion is concerned, I think this is quite amazing rather than leaving it on the side of the road to take the chance of survival, which I am sure would have been slim to none... SO, before you cast judgement on someone else maybe you should take a look at the whole picture, but than again you probably won't because ignorance has a way
What a wonderful partnership, and in all honesty is a giant middle finger to the hum and drum of keeping a dog that looks like a rat in a handbag. Excellent.
Nevertheless, I do want to see more and more people rehabbing birds and successfully returning them to the wild and planting trees, and putting out feeders and intervening only when absolutely necessary to save our wild and exotic birds, all birds. Any time someone raises a baby bird and succeeds and it is freed and fears people and take care of itself, its numbers will go up. I'd love to see someone find the ivorybilled woodpecker and increase its numbers and quick.
I'm glad I could release Twiggy the Woodpecker b/c I have quite a busy life and couldn't keep this up. At least not until I finish up my vet tech degree and transfer jobs to a clinic that works w/wildlife and exotics and take my work w/me and then home. I do NOT want a wild animal as a pet except to return it to the wild or to increase its species in numbers. But Cheeko sure is a cutiepie & I bet he's a lot of fun. I do want an exotic (captive-bred) pet but not a wild/zoo animal, though.
@marielledealine I know what you kept Cheeko very well, b/c you can't easily release a crow, blackbird, grackle, or raven, b/c whether they're a baby bird or an adult bird, they will fly right back to their owner. They imprint on people even during adulthood and become dependent on your companionship and care. Good luck and hope you have lots of money. In captivity, they need to be wormed, given vaccines, etc. if they are not returned to the wild. You don't want him to get sick or you.
@marielledelaine I bet Cheeko's a handful. The baby woodpecker I had to care for and rehabilitate over the Xmas break holiday drained all the energy right out of me. I was glad when it was release day b/c even though he was adorable and all esp. the 1st day of care, by the 3rd day he had gained his strength back and was very active. With all that pecking on my head and in his carrier, I said you're ready to fly and took him outside and let him go on Xmas day and now our trees have holes.
Now, I am fully aware of the embarassing fact that I am an idiot, but are you positive it is a crow and not a raven? It looks a bit small to be a raven, but it doesn't look like any crow I have ever seen. Maybe we got different crows in Scandinavia or something. The ones over here are large and usually grey with some black thrown in.
@ClockworkContessa I don't think there is such a thing as a crow breeder, it's technically illegal to own a pet native bird like this. Not that crazy people like this person or me would be willing to do it. A budgie is a better choice.
@Gazpacho8 yes a budgie from a shelter is a better choice.. In greece it's illegal to own these species even if you find one you should help it grow if you are able to do so and set it free where you found that, or there are organisations who do the same thing and are able to take the bird from you and prepare it for a free life.. so people leave the wild animals alone.. they may be happier with other animals of their species than with you..
@Gazpacho8 I am not a fan of little birds especially budgies. My friend had one and it was a bloody nightmare and could never be taken out of her cage because she was aggressive and flighty, like my old African Grey I prefer smarter bigger birds who can be trained and learn to speak.
I'm with everyone else here. I want a pet crow too. My first love in life were flying creatures and things great and small. Again, like everyone else, I would like to know.. How did you come by your pet Crow?
@alexwb "Burn the witch" is just a harmless and satirical reference to those witches, you know, the ones that usually keeps a crow with them? I don't think it's really meant to try to attack her or anything, because that would be the last thing that pops up in my mind if I wanted to insult someone
well now you know how the middle ages came to happen...
people are dumb.
btw, how do we know she's a witch? witches are made of wood. wood floats in water. what also floats in water? a duck... so if she weighs the same as a duck.... watch?v=zrzMhU_4m-g
well done you, they are lovely birds. Very intelligent, apparently a test was done with a glass of water with food at the bottom. Rocks to the side, and it had water in it. No human worked out how to get the food without touching it, but crows threw in the rocks immediately to raise the water level to get to the food!!!
I had a pet crow too. they are so loving and very smart. But can be buggers too. they like to take objects away from you and tease you with them but not let you have it back hehehe. I clucked like a chicken every time I could and eventually he started to cluck like a chicken when he was alone and board. It was funny to hear a crow cluck like a chicken. .Thanks for sharing your cool video.
Crows are awesome! Cool to see you have him as part of your family like my parents did yearsa ago. If you havnt already, get him some shiny toys and he'll find a hiding place for his 'treasure'.
They're actually one of the very few birds with a strait beak who are still capable of cognative speech, did you know that? Hard to believe because the other day I saw one eating a piece of KFC.
If I were you, I'd have 3 pairs of goggles between his beak and my eyes...I'm a caw-caward.

well done you, they are lovely birds.
