flossing is very important cause usually just with brushing your teeth u cant get all the food and bacteria out, so floss does the job :) also the most of bacteria hides under gums, so yes, u need to floss your gums.

@copperhead88 dude a dentist told me that if I can, I should do it three times a day and i was like"....theres no way I can do that" Brushing the teeth is a pain in the ass in the first place and flossing it is even MUCH more of a pain. I recently started to do it every two days but for me I have learnt to do it in less than 5 mins now so that is good. It really takes skills though and lots of practice and most of the time I can't get ALL the teeth cracks, though I try to.

I've been flossing for a long time, but I could never floss as fast as you!!! I'd destroy my gums! Also, for anyone who has a lot of crowding like I do, it will take a much longer time easing the floss between the teeth. If I were to go as fast as the video, I would snap the floss into my gums and have cuts all along my gum line. It usually takes me at least 5 minutes to floss my entire mouth. I wish it only took a minute!

the key to flossing without bleeding is...keep flossing...eventually your gums will stop bleeding...if not, see your dentist...peace

@livelife365 : the reason u bleed is b/c u don't floss regulary. food debris collects around ur gum line on ur teeth and attracts bacteria...that is called plaque...it's the soft white/yellow stuff that u can scrape off ur teeth and it feels rough if u run tongue against ur teeth. plaque mixes with the calcium in saliva and becomes hard and sticks to the tooth after 36 hours. that is called calculus...that irritates the gum around ur teeth and causes inflammation. hence the bleeding and pain.

Keep flossing, bleeding gums is a sign of unhealty gums. If you keep flossing regulary your gums will become healthy and both the pain and the bleeding will stop.
