Hey Cloud, lighten up. Mr. Rogers was probably not gay. What Howard Stern does is called humour. To get it, you have to understand that he is pulling your leg. I will bet that your grandpa would have gotten the joke. They had humour (as well as censorship) back in the good old days. Even icons like Mr. Rogers are fair targets for satire. That's cool Cloud. I don't think that Mr. Rogers needs our defence because he did nothing that needs defending. Nor do we need to defend him from Howard Stern because Howard is not attacking him, he is just pointing out that Mr. R. had a soothing way of talking to children that could find it's parallel in the language used to persuade children (or adults for that matter) into actions or situations we find much less desireable.

Pity Howard's mom didn't spend any time with him learning how to be a respectable kind and nurturing person - I enjoyed many hours with my boys - adventuring to make believe to learn kindness and journeys to all different opperations be it the bakery,grocery,barber shop,tire retread plant you name Mister Rogers took us there.Fred, My boy's would make you proud!Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

To all you negative posters. I'm revealing my age here but, one time I was watching a Mr. Rogers ep and he had this black lady educator on with him to teach kids how to count and they did it using one finger at a time.
As I was watching it, I just KNEW that they were going to unintentionally wind up flipping the bird, and that's just what they ended up doing, the both of them. Life happens and so does the unintentional. Get over it.
