  • With that car back in '68 you could date Marilyn Monroe !

  • Nicest GTX I've ever seen.

  • Probably the most beautiful '68 I seen!

  • Ya saved the best till last!!! Great car. I love mopars!

  • A sort of Homecoming the 1° song of video

  • beautiful machine! Executive muscle! Love it.

  • Beautiful color combo.

  • Figata. Ma perchè in Italia queste vetture non si incontrano mai!!!

  • your neighbors either hate you or LOVE you lol.

  • Beautiful car! Do I hear possible crankshaft bearing knocking noises or is this just a bad audio recording? The last time I heard that noise from a Mopar engine was shortly before i had a hole in my oil pan with the silhouette of a piston/rod assembly and a bent crankshaft....

  • @slothmag No. Header leak and inexspensive camera audio mic. Anyway, I'm buiding a 505 stroker for this right now. Thanks for your concern.

  • @1968440GTX I am probably one of the biggest Mopar fanatics you will ever meet and even though I own a Chevelle Im still a Mopar guy, Question about those hoods on the 68's I know that they where "functional" drawing in air, how functional are they actually? Are they vacuum operated?

  • @Boredout454 Thanks for the inquiry. '68's didn't have functioning hood scoops. ''69's did. They were opened and closed with a cable.

  • Do do do, da da da... Great!!!

  • The chromed tail lights look awesome!

  • JEEZUS... CHRIST.... GTX....

  • nice vid, GREAT car! my hats off to ya

  • Yep!!! BADASS!!!!

  • The taillights on the GTX were on all '68 plymouth models that year. Belvedere, Satellite, Roadrunner and GTX.

  • @1968440GTX

As the past owner of a '68 GTX that I bought in 1969 and sold in 1971, I laughed my ass off at this video. Young people today just don't have any idea of the power we had access to with these incredible beasts. The muscle car came to life in '63, peaked in '69, and went the way of the dinasour by '71. Thank god people are restoring these icons for all to enjoy.

  • @1968440GTX Wrong on the taillights... the GTX and sport satellite had unique cast aluminum tail lights and panels as opposed to stamped on the Satellite and Road Runner. The Cast aluminum was finished as said below. THat's from a really old guy who's had 5 '68's on the road since 1972.

  • @Buckneccid BTW... I'm pretty sure I painted that car about 15 years ago for the owner before this one, as he just sent me the video and told me how much he misses it.

  • @Buckneccid The taillights are correct they're just missing the argent paint, as well as the trunk panel. Since that vid i've had them painted. My next video will show this as i'm building a 505 stroker right now. MO-POWER!

You are correct as how the base models had the stamped aluminum tailights and the premier models had cast pot metal taillights. Sure would like to see your GTX. Got any videos?

  • @1968440GTX No vids of any of my '68's. only have pics of one, the ex wife kinda tossed a lot of pics cause she wasn't in them and other wimmen were. I do have some pics of my 70X, and some vids of my '71 X on the drag strip. Guess I'll have to dig em up and post one huh?

  • @1968440GTX No vids right now, still piddling with little things. I have some up to date pics of it on my Facebook @ David Fetty and some of it and a few other GTX's and Mopars I've had on Photobucket at the same name. Now I'm just showing off lol. I do think there's a vid of the Ex taking the '71 GTX down the drag strip. 13 flat thru the mufflers on street tires.

  • PLYMOUTH SATELLITE WITH STRIPES , 14.3 QUARTER MILE @ 97.9 MPH , ITS A BROWN LEAD SLED.

  • Actually this GTX runs 13.8 @ 100 mph with 3.23's and a tuned 650 carb. Building a 505 stroker now.

  • @1968440GTX STUNNING color combination!! thats exactly how i sported my shit back in the day. meaty blackwall rubber on the magnums and a half inch drop on the front torsion bars for a mild rake. had a b-5 68gtx 4spd trak pak car white stripes no vinyl top blue interior. Bought it from the original owner in 80 with 38,000miles on it. man that car was the prettiest mopar i owned. good reply to the hosier above about the exhaust leak. i couldnt have been so subtle. CHEERS.

  • i seen a convertable today! even more rare than that is it wasnt at a car show! it was at a diner! nice car i wish to have a couple old mopars before my dieing day!

  • Beautiful GTX!

  • Excellent spin, but next time turn off that dumb Police song.

  • wwwoooooowww only with those sort of cars??????

  • my father had this same exact car, he sold it! you wouldn't happen to live in NJ would you?

  • @angzt510 nope.

  • I bet your neighbors love you:O) Beautiful car man!! I had one when I was 16!! Wish I still had her now!!!

  • nice GTX! my 72 Charger has a 440 and has an exhaust leak, i know how you feel, i hate it too, mopar or no car!

  • what a beautiful gtx were do u live check my vids they are in humboldt co ca

  • beautiful car, did u buy that back chrome piece? arnt they usually powdered?

  • The GTX came with that trunk panel in the current condition you see. These trunk panels are usally painted silver argent with the chrome showing at the high points of the panel.

  • Loved it and that car looks real nice.

  • Funny, all I heard were tires squealing for mercy.

Really like the black wall's showing versus the white letter.

    Nicely done.

  • Very Very cool!
