Metallica is the best, I have my utmost respect for them. They played Am I Evil because it is a badass song. They used this cover for Sophia because all the bands were out there and since it was in Metallica's time for this concert and it was a cover THEY did, they used this song. The Big Four Tour remembered Dio out of respect for the tour, the REAL reason was for the 4 main thrash metal bands.

I'm a Metallica fan, but the problem with Metallica is their egos take an 18 wheeler to carry, particularly James and Lars. At least in Pantera and Megadeth songs, I can HEAR the bass just fine. Wouldn't surprise me if James and Lars masterminded Dave's mic not working well.
