  • @jacobdallen1 I'll tell you why - I like specific software applications that run on the platform. I heavily deploy Windows compliant servers and workstations at my office -- I like specific software applications that run on the platform. Quite frankly, I couldn't give a 'rats ass' to the manufacturer -- it's all about the SOFTWARE that is what drives my purchases and usage. To me, the OS should be transparent -- to LAUNCH an APP so you can 'do something' - it's silly how it's all gotten!

  • i have a pice of shit Compaq laptop

  • EVERYONE- Al is just making a joke about his broken mac pro, there is no "low level software".

  • Why doesn't it boot when the weather is nice?

  • @JBergen1104 - its just a silly video, no computer won't boot if the weather's nice outside.

  • I don't get it. when did you say 2011?

  • 1st law of technology.

Never touch a running computer, never do an update if you don't know the results.

Sorry, but it's your fault. Respect the laws!

    ROTFL

  • Well you said that it check some weather site on the internet while booting. Then why not remove the LAN cable or something for once?

  • @prun3 It could be connected via wifi. Maybe the machine has wifi built in? Then again he could turn off the router if it's his. I dunno. Good question.

  • You could always empty out the electronics and just have the shell, and you could use that shell for a Christmas wrap.

  • Hey Alfred, i ran into Steve Wozniak at at website literally 2 minutes ago. Got a screen shot of his and my post. I told him something you would like very much. I can send the pic to ya or post it up on flickr. Lemme know.

  • Heh, let me point you to the 12 year old PowerMac G3 B&W sitting at my feet, and it edits video just fine! Bad thing is Apple for some reason used a shitty drive controller in the revision 1 units that won't work with total drive sizes of over 32GB... iMac time, but thats two years newer and the same specs, other than the RAM and optical drive, and of course the hard drive.

  • That's what happens when you buy crapple.

  • Serves you right for buying overpriced Appleware!

  • Man, I can't believe that you have had such bad luck with the Mac Pros! I remember watching your video about Thor having processor problems and now this. I guess there's always the old G5 to fall back on!

  • dont get the 12 core get the 34 core

  • ya, check my response, as it could be the 8800 thats gone in octavius if thats the machine with the 8800 upgrade in it.

  • I had a refurbished Compaq that failed a little over a year after I got it, thus no more warranty. Oh well, now I have an HP that's been going for over 2 years now, and it's only problems are with the battery. Too bad they can't make those last yet!

On a lighter note, I have a 15-year-old PowerMac that still boots! It just loses the time/date each time you shut it down and has no internet! It's a work in progress...

  • @shakatu1

HP makes Compaq. Why'd you go with them again?

  • @ItzAmazingBrian Cuz I got it refurbished from a 3rd party... The CPU was what failed, as far as I know. Oh, and the laptop itself was probably 4 years old, I just had it for a year from the refurb.

  • @shakatu1 Actually, it was 6 years old. I just looked it up. Compaq EVO N610C replaced with HP Pavilion DV6700t with all the options.

  • @shakatu1 Replace the battery on the motherboard, my 13 year old beige G3 needed that. It should be a 3.6v lithium half-AA battery, radioshack and Batteries Plus carry them.

  • @kasm279 Thanks for the suggestion, but I've scrapped it a little and will prolly just take what's left to a recycling place.

  • well my laptop failed on the 20th

the screen went black and the thing starter to beep like crazy

then after the beeping stop then i herd a fan go so fast that it blue the papers to the end of the desk and this poped up on the screen

    "error:no such partion

    grub rescue>"

and i had to deleat the hdd and put windows 7 on it.

windows did not fail the hdd did

its a toshiba with a 320 gb hdd

  • Bad Luck! Hope Apple Fix it!

  • so sad :[

  • 2011? did you hop in a freaking delorean and go to the future

  • My 24" iMac was a tekfail! Apple swapped it for a 27" iMac!

  • did you try disconnecting from the internet?

  • @Someoneyoudontknow13he's joking lol

  • Time to go back to the Lisa since it's still working, right? Maybe the NeXT cube too? lol!

The only time I've had teckfail was when my MDD decided it wanted to sleep until I zapped the pram, then it turned on. Easy, easy fix.

  • Great videos man

  • @Thenewyorkcritic Mike, ya douche -- here is my comment back to you. "Casey, meet Rocco. Rocco, this is Casey." LOL!

  • @Thenewyorkcritic STFU Mike. LOL

  • @miijunior1 Failed alien technology.

  • @adiblasi That was the point.

    You're fat.

    its just more polite...

  • xbox 360 imo

  • @OTAlucard Oh, I had one that red ringed like a hemorrhoid.

  • LMAO

  • Damn techNOlogy.

  • @KBoschetto Kim, tell your son Danny that his little sister is STILL way cooler than him.

  • Al, so you finally got the Flux Capacitor installed in the G4! Heads up, your Mac Pro is gona crap out next year!

  • @v8nman ROTFL - NO, not the Flux Capacitor, but the freaking Time Capsule! LOL!

  • @adiblasi There has to be a Flux capacitor involved here somewhere...

(if so, i'd hate to have that electric bill, being a clear day and all!)

  • well i have an ATi Radeon 9250 that keeps shutting down my old dell demension 2350

  • @mikeandwindows Oh, please film that and post a review.

  • Gee did anyone get the embedded joke with the "Master copy of the Beta?"

  • wow 6500 for a mac? im not saying its a piece of shyt but still 6500? i can buy a ultimate gaming windows computer custom made with all the best specs and also still have left over for all my gaming accessories like a gaming keyboard, headphone and speakers and yet ill still have enough to buy a gaming laptop, a whole complete set of gaming machines that can handle media and gaming but of course the media is not as best as apple because thats wat theyre best at but still man 6500? thats a waste

  • @WarsOfHell Go on line to the Apple store and configure a high-end 12-core MacPro; My config yield about an $8,500 system. Whew. Yup, expensive stuff. Those Nahalem Xeon's, bumped up to the highest clock speed at the time, a year ago, put a nice bang on the bottom line. But this system will have at least a 5 year productive life span -- that is, if I can turn it on.

  • @adiblasi yea apple does have expensive stuff but the customer support is good at least and also macs last longer as i have heard and they perform more smoothly then a windows as i have known since im a hybrid user, a windows and mac user tho i use my windows for gaming and my macbook for education lol

  • @WarsOfHell its a mac. You can buy a BMW 5 series with no upgrades for $45k. or buy a honda with a bunch of upgrades for $35k.

    its a mac

  • @jonsutubechannel yea thats true ud rather go for the bmw if ur gonna buy a honda with all that upgrade which is resulting in the same price as a bmw but still this is a computer i mean a windows computer can do most of what a mac can do except edits stuff like movies and music and many other media stuff so im jus saying mac is more for the media type and definetly not for the gaming type even tho steam is now for mac.

  • iPod touch, the screen turned white, the software was still working since I succeeded at putting music on it, but the screen was white. And guess what, it happened 3 frkn days after the warranty on it expired!

  • over there in south florida i think cubans are the mexicans of where california, arizonia, new mexico, and texas lol

  • My mac cd-rom drive just failed all of a sudden and I even checked all the cables, everything looks right and it still don’t work, even got new cables and a cd-rom, nothing, even tho my old windows NT machine from 94 work just fine.

  • What ever happened to all the fun DiBlasi family videos? I miss those. The channel seems too serious now. It was fun just seeing you and your family hanging out and being funny.

  • @Supermassively Post tech, they want family. Post family, they want tech. Wow, I just can't win with you guys! LOL! Don't worry, the holiday's are coming up - I'm sure I'll puke out a few family films -- or, maybe I'll edit the ones that I never edited. I do appreciate your viewing, comments, and support! :)

  • I've had the same machine since before your 8 core whore. I've had problems but none as bad as this. It's a PC by the way.

  • October 2011 ? Did you invent some kind of time travelling machine Al ?

  • @JMGameVideos No, I didn't invent a time machine -- I just finally opened up my Apple Time Capsule (well, not really, but soon!).

  • I'm really wondering why NO ONE has caught the joke based on the video's run time of 4:20.

  • my video of my PS3 dying now has a home

  • al, the power supply is dead or it might be the ram

  • Hey Al, I feel bad for you. Oh well, my CPU fan decided to stop working from Tuesday onwards. I didn't find out untill yesterday, when my computer shut down in the middle of rendering a video. When I turned it on & went into BIOS, the system nicely reported me that the CPU was 70 degr. Centigrade and that the CPU fan wasn't working. So I fabricated something myself (video soon) and I applied new TIM to processor & fan. That helped :)

Oh, IBM rocks. I have an old desktop as a server. Really good.

  • @daanbrg Wow! Yes, post that as a video response. Make sure you preface the title as TekFail : just like mine. Nice. Responses will auto post, so have a ball!

  • Time for a 12-Core, Hope you got Apple Care, I had a new 27" LED Cinema display when I first turn it on, The 27" had a dead pixel in the middle of the screen but Apple took care of it and gave me a new 27" and it's been all good sense then

  • I'd just sell it for as much as possible, build a PC from ASUS parts (Intel 1366 Socket), and a GPU from Gigabyte. Then, hope that you can get a working Hackintosh out of it.

  • I bet your G4 would boot. It might cause the lights to dim and would be required to be put into more positions than someones's sister...but it would boot

  • you have a mac pro, that is the fail

  • I would love to see that mac pro go over the balcony

  • 2011? Alfred did you time travel?

  • I have a pc so i don't have a piece of shit that fails.

  • @hokkypro PC's ALSO have third party parts, like the particular map he was talking about...

  • ewww

  • and i thought failure was not an option at apple...

  • @appleAddict240872 It's a new feature introduced to all systems by Apple. They say there is a high amount of customer satisfaction; there is not even a single error in that feature. Steve calls it "Revolutionary. A new way of computing."

  • I don't think I have ever seen you that pissed off before Alfred not that you don't have a good reason. Let me know how it all goes for you. All the best mate and take care

  • Yea you said 2011. lol

  • Wow, didn't know they made this for the Mac! I had the same thing installed in a light bulb I had back in 1996 and the damn thing still doesn't turn on when the weather is nice.

  • How's the beach, Al? I'm freezing my balls off in New Jersey. :[

  • Did I hear you correctly? I think you said 2011 at about 0:21

  • Comment removed

  • october 2011 (?)

  • It's a 6,500 toe stubber.

  • hey alfred!!! it seems like you have a power supply failure :\ .

i have had 3 laptops in the past 3 years due to hardware failure. first two laptops: the mainboard died. the third one: keyboard fell apart. computers are made like shit nowadays...

  • Being a Best Buy employee, at least I know you'll most likely get better customer service when you take your computer to the Apple store to get it fixed. Best Buy's Geek Squad is a bit of a joke. Anywho, I hope your 8core gets up and running soon!

  • My Mac Pro has been running solid for 2+ years! Sorry to hear about that Al, and I'd like to find out why for yours!

  • Just wait until it rains, then uninstall the firmware! =D

  • Well, the new macbook air is a fail all they did is add one more usb port.

Also, they still use the out of date core 2 due. While, their at it they could have added a card slot and a core i7 processor.

  • My 3 dollar radio isnt working... time to make a vid response.

  • @AridSea Do it. Please. That will be brilliant.

  • dear al,

you look fat in the thumbnail.

    -- arid.

  • @AridSea That's because I am fat.

  • holy shit al you are rich as fuck

  • @omid11 you've never met me I guess...

  • @omid11 No, Omid, Rich is my cousin. Cousin Rich. I'm Alfred. By the way, you can see Rich's wedding pictures in the iPhoto 2011 'Vintage' section. Wow.

  • @adiblasi Classic reply Al! I loved it!

  • @adiblasi WOW! (just checked it out!)

kick ass! and lol @ the dell rep.

"Stick that terabyte drive in the ratty old imac and run it over with the hummer"

  • @omid11 dude he isnt rich... his italian parents gave him all that money

  • I have 4 mac pros they all work fine but my first "pos" Toshiba u305 laptop was a total wast of money..to play movies or any thing in the optical drive you have to turn it on its side...and it crashes every fucking time I would like to get some of my shit of off it...lol...No problems with the 4 "12 Core mac pros" THANKS APPLE

  • @AbercrombiE1236464 Any videos of the POS Toshiba? If you still have it, film it and post a reply!

  • @adiblasi I'm going to make a video this weekend and post it up!

  • dude, i bet you were pissed off, i know i would have been, cause my computer is my life haha, thats like the worst creation apple has done, haha hope you get it off man

  • I hope i've got a vid from like 6 month ago when my 2 month old hp laptop didn't boot too because the hard disk was f*** up, it took them 4 weeks to change the hard disk, anyway I'll look for the video and I'll be back.

  • TWO out of TWO MacPro's you have purchased FAILED. that Not to impress hear I would geve my truck for one but you keep brake'in them I bet apple don't like you that much now do they

  • 3:17 you should have ended it with peace.... of shit :P

  • @KennyMataz ROTFL - KENNY! That's a good one! I'll remember that for the next TekFail video!

  • dangg.. he's really pissed!~ xD

  • xD that is hilarious

  • It is still under the 1 year warranty, isn't it? I hope it is something simple.

  • @NorCalExplorer Actually, the timing is CLASSIC. It's just a few months out of the 1 year, but I it covered. For the most part, as you probably know, I made this video for you all, for the comedy -- and I know you all like it when I'm pissed off. I was so angry, I even said the freakin YEAR wrong. It's probably just the power supply - no big deal. However, look at the stats - TWO out of TWO MacPro's I have purchased FAILED. Not impressed.

  • @adiblasi 2 out of 2 very expensive mac pros dying?! I have a suggestion on a new video. Take the mac pro to an apple store and see if they replace it since it is only a few months out of date of the warranty. Tell them the video is for youtube and you have hundreds of followers. Spending that kind of money should get a machine that runs for years. I have a 12 year old G3 tower that still runs just fine. This is a black eye on Apple quality control.

  • @NorCalExplorer Hah, same here with the G3! How about the SE from 1987? Then theres the HP from 2004 or 2005 with bad caps on the motherboard.

  • tsk tsk. POS chinese mac lol. I've noticed ever since Apple switched to Intel their systems have taken a sharp turn down the crap lane. I think its time for PPC to make a comeback. They're reasons why your G5 and all my old POS systems can still boot flawlessly lol. I reconnected my G4 lol. I missed it. and lol clip at the end.

  • @mikemacjunkie1 Hi Mike - yes, I agree; I REALLY wish the manufacturing was here in the United States -- we could use the jobs, Jobs!

  • @adiblasi Hi Alfred. Yup, more jobs would be good for the American economy. What ever happened to the plant Apple had in Fremont?? I have a few good old USA made Apple's, but they went cheap a few years ago like everyone else and had the Chinese make it with the same parts, but a higher markup. Typical.

  • @mikemacjunkie1 Even PPC had problems, iMac G5 logic board fried, liquid cooled Powermac leaks, and common faults like hard drive and RAM. Besides, there are no PPC chips viable for laptops, that's the point of switching to Intel.

  • @igeekone Ahh, good point on the water cooled G5. I think the liquid used was urine from Steve Jobs, however, the ammonia naturally contained in the urine cause the rubber seals to deteriorate, making it leak all over the place. As such, I could have said STEVE JOBS PISSED ON MY G5'S CORE!

  • @igeekone im aware of that, but i have over 40 PPC macs. i've collected them over the years and now will start clearing them as its not a big interest anymore, but they've all performed better then the new chinese crap that apple has now days. i was leary to leave PPC behind to switch to intel because they worked great except for crappy flash. a lot of people still use PPC because it is more reliable. music studios for example run mostly on maxed out G5's

  • ehhhhhhhhhhhh

  • i understand how u feel. i would feel the same way

  • The important question is: Did you check your rat's nest of cables behind the Mac Pro and checked that it was plugged in? Haha. Just joking! :P

  • Looks like your in ST.Pete. I live in Tampa!

  • best jokes around right here...

  • my power mac g5 did the same thing. it turned out that the power adaptor was missing some connection with the casing, due to repeated opening and closing. but the time i figured that out, my entire room was filled with parts of star trek accessories.

anyway, it's usually an easy fix.

  • that really suck....for 6500$.damn.

  • To all Apple fanboys out there: Yes, a product from Apple CAN fail. It doesn't "just work". ;)

  • Did the PSU snuff it?

  • I think Steve Jobs made that firmware especially for you, but I think it will last only a little while, because on the Cinema Display I'm pretty sure it said "TIME TO EXFOLIATE ALFRED!"

  • I am so sorry to here that Alfred

  • Maybe Alfred it's time to give up and go outside for a bit.

  • 2 out of 2 Mac Pro failures... Time for osx86?

  • wait for the 34 core mac pro

  • Love the bonus classic clip!

  • 6500€ boat anker :P

  • @blancfilms $6500, not euros

  • It just works.

  • I have an aluminum Macbook, turned 2 years old this month, still works like new. too bad about the mac pro its an awsome desktop.

  • @adiblasi Haha. I'm gonna need a 12 core system to run all the apps in the Mac app store that's coming soon. And what's up with the stock being at $309... Come on people, let's get serious about fueling the economy. Order your new MacBook airs and Mac pros today.

  • Hey Alfred!!! Have you seen that Maria & Richard's wedding photos appear as a demo for the new vintage prints slideshow of iPhoto '11 in apple's website?!?! Tell me you know this??

Like this comment so he can read it!!!!

  • @jbmediaa No, I didn't know that, however, their wedding photographer does work for Apple. Hmm, maybe royalties are due for Rich & Maria. Email me the link, I must see this!

  • @jbmediaa Thanks again for pointing that out. I called Rich -- he was laughing his ass off, and said "Wow, I'm famous." I told him "Don't let your Dell rep see that, he might get pissed awwwf." LOL!

  • 6500 bucks? That cost more than my first car!

  • @jackmitchell123 6500 $ is a alright price u can get a 12 core mac for for 10k here in Nz

    A 16gb ipad in nz i think is 1k a iphone 4 is 1k too.

  • I couldn't agree more with the thought of upgrading to a new 12 core whore.

  • @jase7725 Yes. What a great excuse. $99 power supply fails. Fix it? No. Screw it. Buy the new $8,500 12-Core system to run iMovie HD/2006. Nice. I like your thinking, and totally agree. It helps stimulate the economy, and boosts the price of Apple stock.

  • 2011??????

  • @crank01 Yea, I read the script wrong on that one... ROTFL!

  • @adiblasi very very very funny....

  • Alfred have you considered that the Illuminati might be behind this after they read your recent comments?

  • @tippx1 Yes. Why do you think I had to take that damn video down?

  • 0:22 - October 2011 - Fail!

  • @naton6 Oh ! Did Steve Jobs Take 1 for your cores??

  • @Yovillehelpful Technically, he took all 8!

  • @adiblasi LOL

  • You had me with the low level software joke for a minute. Probably because Apple would actually do something retarded like that. Great video and I hope you can get it fixed.

  • @silvernode Thanks. It's probably just the power supply, and it was a good thing I have the extended warranty as it failed just a few months after the first year. POS. My Dell PowerEdge 2900 had a bad stick of RAM - low level software embedded into the firmware saw the problem, alerted me on an LCD front panel, and disabled the RAM bank. Server kept running with no data corruption. Impressive! I really like the Dell servers.

  • Ah. Did u forget to plug in the power cord?

    LOL

  • @Yovillehelpful Shit! I never thought of that! It's such a mess under there, I might not have noticed that it wasn't plugged in! Good suggestion....

  • @adiblasi Lol

  • nice 2011 time traveling videos!!

  • @gsr1379 LOL Yea. OK, I f_cked up on that one. You see that -- I'm already thinking futures.

  • Hooray for more alfred videos!

Shame about the octacore whore though... i bet apple will use that same excuse that everyone does "oh, it was in beta so you never know" Yeah... its really useful telling us this now after the damn thing STOPPED WORKING!

Hope you get octavius fixed... or if you do throw it out the window, make sure you video it :) It'd make for great entertainment :D

  • @Dragonsrule89 Dragon, if I do toss it off the balcony, I'm sure there will be a few viewers at the ground level who will try to catch that thing! Thanks for watching.

  • my mac is already 16 months old ...and well i never had an i fail ! :D

  • Why would you use a fucking Mac as a file share in an office?

  • @insidemymind92 I don't , and that's why. We deploy Dell PowerEdge servers.

  • @adiblasi Good for a second I thought I might have to make fun of you for a good consecutive 5 minutes until my laughter and the laughter of others died down.

  • @adiblasi or you single :) i have asian girl i need get rid of i mean avoid
