this is the macbook Aluminium. in June 2009, Apple ugraded it to the macbook pro by adding a better display firewire 800 and a faster processor

it allows you to connect a external storage device (a hard drive) ,a printer, a camera, and even another computer.

USB (universal serial bus) is a faster (firewire 400 runs at 400 mbs per second when USB runs at 480 mbs per second. not much of a difference though.), more successful way to connect devices. apple has diched firewire 400 in all of there new products to make way for

firewire 800 (it runs twice as fast as firewire 400) which runs at 800 mbs per second.
