@schusniper15 I thought the same thing about math when I was younger, and now I can use math to build physical structures....I'm just a carpenter. Formulas in math are hard to see in reality sometimes.....but they're there. Think about the digits that'll be in your bank account when you're older, don't waste your time fighting the reasoning behind it....I did the same thing and had to re learn something I could have tried and picked up the first time.

@mhmcupcakes absolutely yes. f the equation can not be factor out or not a perfect square either. if the equation can be factor out easily, u can use the factoring method to find x which is the easiest way in finding x rather than to use this quadratic formula. in that equation above, u can see that it can be factor out in x-4, x+1 and the answer is thesame from the video which is 4 and -1. so u can use either the quadratic or factoring. quadratic can be use no matter what kind of equation

so, if 1+(Square root of 3), Dont put X= 1+1.73205= 3.73205. Simply put X=1+(Square Root)3 AND X=1-(Square Root)3.

Only use the decimal if your teacher/instructor/professor/e­tc. tells you.
