The reason why the Cosby Show was fashioned to be the way it was, is due to Cosby's understand that the African-American community needed positive examples on a consistent basis. The family portrayed this primarily through the CHILDREN, not through Cliff and Clare. If they showed Cliff or Clare having an affair, then the impact of the images being portrayed and being considered typical. Cosby realized this from the beginning and he executed with brilliance.

I loved the debate.Growing up in the ghetto,costantly surrounded by voilence and drugs,the cosby's was my oulte.They gave me hope and inspiration.They were a role model for me to immulate.I didn't need anymore reminders of my reality.The cosby even though fiction showed that we as blk people could live decient.We could be educated ,have a respectable and loving relationship and family.

This guy just pretty much said black couples aren't real unless there is tragedy or infidelity...that's crazy! Again my family was lot closer to the Cosby Show than some Boyz in the Hood...as well as my family friends...we all grew up upper middle class, went to college, and dealt with similar issues as The Cosby Show. Not all black couples are volatile and not all black people grow up in the hood.

Why are they making such a big deal about him wearing a dress? Nobody made a big deal about Jamie Fox doing it for Living Color or Martin Lawrence for his show. It is a JOKE. They are imitating certain women in a comedic way. Come on guys. Not to mention there are men, black and white, that are cross dressers in this world. It is real. It is there. Sounds like homophobia actually cause it's really not a big deal. And again, it is a JOKE, if you don't find that funny then that's you.

The Cosby Show was a good show in my opinion. Even if folks say it wasn't a real life image of everyday black people, you still have to appreciate the positive images that show brought forth.
