@OhItsJan Awesome. Thanks so much. Was it at SnowKid? I just like to know who has it. :)
Your story is awesome! It really is amazing. The "rock" thing is great. We have a running gag in our house with out kids when the kids get something that didn't expect or like (in general, not necessarily gifts), they'll say "i got a rock" like Charlie Brown in The Great Pumpkin.
Were your brother and sister surprised to see you or did they know you were coming?
@danstahl67 I just checked, it was SnowKid. Someone named DigoFail has it too. Only 750 views. Probably trying to cash in on your good parenting caught on video.
Anyway, when I landed, I took a taxi to a local store, and arranged with my mom to surprise them there. They were pleasantly surprised, even though I surprise them every year. I think they have as much fun anticipating my arrival during normal store visits.
@OhItsJan The fact that your son wanted to give you some money back is great. Like most teens, I was a jerk to my parents.
I dropped out of college early and quit my fast food job. My dad pulled some strings and got me a REALLY hard manual labor job in the oilfield. I worked 10 hours a day in the Louisiana summer sun for little money.
That straightened up my attitude pretty quickly, and I became much more appreciate of the efforts my parents put into raising.
This might sound odd--but I watch this video every year because it reminds me of why I should have a family in the future and what Christmas used to feel like when I was a kid. Your son and daughter truly are wonderful kids--I wish them well in their future endeavors! Merry Christmas!
@Nerdyartsmart This doesn't sound odd at all. I'll go watch it when I am having a bad day or feeling low. Thank you for coming back again and again. We are really glad that this brings you happiness. I hope that you too had a very Merry Christmas. :)
@red2lucas Thanks so much. They are both a joy. Have a great Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Thanks for taking the time to comment too. It means a lot.
@danstahl67 haha :) It's just good to know that there are still genuinely good people out there, as Nik seems to be. You guys are doing a good job raising him. Keep it up!
wooooooooooow the kid even wanted to give his dad some moneeeey this kid is the mooooooooost gratefull child ever! gratefull, patient, and very well educated!
what really surprised me where both child's that girl was very quiet raised she did not get mad cuz he's bro got a valuable thing this is soooo awesome these parents should be blessed for eternal happiness and their child's too!
Kid's just aren't as appreciative as they used to be, but this kid makes me so happy. I hope he's enjoying his XBOX, and I can tell he's going to go far in life. You raised a great kid :)
This is really great to see kids that are genuinely greatful for something, im only 15 but all the time i see young children who are little brats with parents who have no control, but really this is great, sure he is a little young for halo but im sure he'll love it for years to come as i do. Kinda felt sorry for him as he spent his past b days with injuries but this put a smile on my face... Well done you should be proud :)
I know a lot of people have already said this, but - wow, you obviously did a great job of raising your kids. And your daughter: it wasn't even her birthday but she joined right in, expressing almost equal delight when a gift was opened.
What I don't understand is the dislikes on this video? If somebody could explain that to me.
The first time i saw this... I laughed, just because it reminded me of my younger brother on easter one year over some transformer thing. :D he was so happy and he said "I have wanted this for 15 years!" .... he was 5. haha. but anyways, second time around. I cried. Its so nice to see such an understanding child, its amazing. you guys are awesome so awesome. You have a couple of really great kids. good job mom & dad. and may you all be blessed. <3
Well done you for bringing up your kids like that. That must have been the best Christmas present to get back from them when they gave you that big thank you and understood that it must have cost you a small fortune! I hope my kids grow up to appreciate things like that, Merry Christmas and Happy killing on Halo little guy!!! ;)
This is the most successful piece of advertising I've ever seen. This video will probably sell a record number of Xbox's and Flat screen Tv's. Genius man, genius. Stimulate that economy, oh baby :D
"I wanna... Can I... THANK YOU!!!"... Pretty much the definition of "heart-warming". The kid's reaction put me in a good mood. As a kid, and as a father, one can only hope to have such kind of moment sometime in our lives.
Congratulations on having such a respectful, well raised and loving kid. And congratulations on being such extraordinary parents. These moments are priceless.
@Shippoyasha wtf dude you just said "it would have been nice if it was any other console" and you said give the console wars a rest i hope you break your collar bone shithead this kid is so grateful
Is no one else disturbed by the fact that this kid got Halo for a game? Then people wonder how trolls are made, I at least hope he isn't exposed to the ridiculous xbox live community......
@alexjxcx I was going to say something similar, but then I realize that I got Halo when it originally came out, which would have made me about 12 at the time. It really depends a lot on the parents. Online play aside (and who knows how much playing online this kid is going to do, since that'd be another $60 a year), the original Halo was more violent then Halo 2 or 3, which doesn't even really have human blood splatters anymore.
So awesome to see kids like this!!! Most kids today are trash-mouth, disrepectful, ignorant brats... The world needs more kids like this, and parents like you!!!
i love the way he says "we get to keep it forever?" Are you excited? I am thrilled! This kid seems to act more mature than a lot of kids because he is pretty much crying with excitement! The last time I felt that way was 3 years ago when my daughter was born.
Awwww so sweet, you must've brought him up so well, please keep it up until he's grown up since sweet kids like them are rarity nowadays. You're off to the best start parents can wish for.
This is great, I applaud on your parenting/teaching skills. His face at 0:41 is priceless. What a great birthday.... I'm not going to lie, but I shattered into to teears especially at the "Do you like it?"
What a fantastic and respectful son your raising, you should be very proud. As for everyone making smart comments when you have Kids yourself you'll find out there's no better feeling in the world than making your child this happy
Man I saw this on the other channel that posted this then i tried watching it again with no tears but Man its the best thing im glad your kid had a fantastic birthday.

If you guys were to start vlogging, I think this would be the best vlogging channel on youtube. I mean, just through this one video I've fallen in love with your family =)
this is how every kid should be, and that is a worthy reward for a good kid.
although i'm extremely impressed by the little girl as well. she's not jealous or intruding on his day and presents at all. I hope my kids turn out like that
That is a wonderful child you have. His gratefulness and joy is such a good reflection on how well you're raising him. What a sweet kid! I hope he's enjoying the present every day!
Thank you. I'm so happy to know families like yours exist. I hope your children stay as humble as they are in this video. You've done a great job raising them.
I'm afraid if you get him live now people online will start influencing him, whether it be cursing, inappropriate humor etc. This is my opinion though.:)
You should put him in a spongy box a week before his birthday. I think that'll stop the curse xD im glad that you got such a great kid. I wish you guys the best. =]
I love this so much. Our parents used to tease us a little leading up to Christmas and birthdays so we wouldn't think we were going to get what we wanted. But they always made it happen and it made it that much more exciting. It's great seeing a sweet grateful kid get an awesome birthday he'll remember forever. The best part is that he was even grateful for the books leading up to it haha. I <3 your family!
its so nice seeing a very grateful kid i hope he enjoyed it :) and its good to know hes doing great, hope more kids will turn out like Nik :D i also felt really happy for him when i saw his reaction :P
Wow these kids are so thankful. It´s unbelievable. And it´s very cute. I loved the part, where your son starts whispering "a Xbox 360 ?!" God bless these kids, they´re so adorable.
Greetingz from germany. Hope my english is good enough for you. =)
I just love to see kids happy, and you guys sure seem like wonderful parents. I mean, everytime I see a kid happy, it just puts a smile on my face, and this video definitely did not dissapoint. That's a really sweet kid you got there =D
You are very blessed. The fact that he was so thankful and knew the sacrifice and hard work it took to get it was great! That is special. Thanks for sharing! :)
You guys should have bought him a PS3 cuz u guys r gonna have to pay for him to play online plus 360's are more prone to breaking than a PS3......so when it breaks u either fork out 100 bucks for the repair cost or buy a new console
This. I remembered my own reaction when given a Xbox 360 (lots of jumping were involved)
I applaud your son's maturity and capability of gratitude. Not many children of his age are as in touch with his feelings or even capable of articulating his emotions in such a positive manner.
I just want to say, whenever I'm down in the dumps or having a not so good day, I watch this video. It always leaves me smiling.
I can't thank you enough for raising two wonderful children and uploading this video to YouTube.

This rocked. I came straight to your channel after seeing this video uploaded from someone else.
After spending all my savings on a flight to see my younger brother and sister for Christmas, I really couldn't afford any presents.
I got them two rocks from outside, boxed them, and wrapped them in three types of wrapping paper.
They knew I had little money, and that it was a joke, but still my little brother held his up and said "it's...a rock!" and laughed.
Congrats on understanding kids!

although i'm extremely impressed by the little girl as well. she's not jealous or intruding on his day and presents at all. I hope my kids turn out like that

That is a wonderful child you have. His gratefulness and joy is such a good reflection on how well you're raising him. What a sweet kid! I hope he's enjoying the present every day!

WOW this kid is the most impressive kid ever for a gift like this. He was genuinely ecstatic about it and he was super humble for it.

I'm afraid if you get him live now people online will start influencing him, whether it be cursing, inappropriate humor etc. This is my opinion though.:)

wonder who's the 23 douche bags that disliked the video.

You should put him in a spongy box a week before his birthday. I think that'll stop the curse xD im glad that you got such a great kid. I wish you guys the best. =]

Wow... what a nice kid you have, most would've forgotten about saying thanks and went straight to playing.

Wow these kids are so thankful. It´s unbelievable. And it´s very cute. I loved the part, where your son starts whispering "a Xbox 360 ?!" God bless these kids, they´re so adorable.
Greetingz from germany. Hope my english is good enough for you. =)

You guys should have bought him a PS3 cuz u guys r gonna have to pay for him to play online plus 360's are more prone to breaking than a PS3......so when it breaks u either fork out 100 bucks for the repair cost or buy a new console
ps3girlgamer1990 1 year ago
This. I remembered my own reaction when given a Xbox 360 (lots of jumping were involved)
I applaud your son's maturity and capability of gratitude. Not many children of his age are as in touch with his feelings or even capable of articulating his emotions in such a positive manner.
You've raised a wonderful boy good sir.
I think he deserved it.

not all parents have the money to buy their kids a 360 or a ps3....some kids are just happy what they have.... :)
