  • I really get alot out of your videos keep up the great work ,thankyou. Is your guitar especially made just for bluegrass ? I have a Taylor acoustic I am just learning bluegrass and consider myself a beginner but you play very well !

  • This is one of the most helpful videos I've ever practiced with. I come back to it about once a week. Well done.

  • Very useful and well done lesson - thanks for taking the time to post it.

  • Thank you very much for the pointers and the basics of bluegrass guitar. I found it very informative and I like the way you explain things. Especially when you slow down and show the fingering you use. Well done!

  • Really nice!

  • wow i just started exploring the world of bluegrass, watever this style is. i love it. your awesome. but is using a metronome really good? i've heard otherwise. anyways, cant wait to start jammin! lol

  • baller as f****

  • Very helpful. Thanks!

    Cheers,

    John

  • ERES MUY BUENA TIA... OUH YEAH

  • Best video about Rhythm Guitar on YouTube! It took me almost 4 years to learn what you've just explained in 5 minutes in this Video!! If I'd watched this a long time ago, I'd be a pro by now! :) But I still found some great tips, even though I've been at this for a while. I know I'm going to be improving my backup.

Keep it up! Love your videos.

    Sarah

P.S. My family loves your family's Cds! Lots of good songs on there.. :) Great choices! The music is so lovely and y'all are so talented! :)

  • First time I listen to this kind of guitar style and I must say Im loving it even though I m not from the US

  • Great Job!!!!

  • Thank you!

  • nice one!, just made things make sense for me... thank you

  • Wow, I'm impressed! You're very talented.

  • you are very cute

  • FOR BEGINNERS: I'm 36 and have been playing since I was 13. She just gave one of the best pieces of guitar advice I have heard on youtube. METRONOME!!! because when you start to play with other people, it will totally trainwreck you. You think you are on beat, but you are not. I wish I had played with a metronome from the beginning. They have them on the internet for free.

  • you are truly talented!!! I love your style! I have a music background but have never played a string instrument before...and I want to learn SO BADLY! I'm taking your "lessons" with some very slow repetition...maybe someday I'll be able to play.

  • Thanks for the videos, you make bluegrass look easy ^_^

  • you are great! i'm gonna learn a lot from you. keep it coming.

  • That was too cool. Lots of fantastic information and you instruct very well! :) While I don't play the guitar, I was completely hooked into this video and I always think it's incredibly neat to watch and learn how people make the amazing sounds with instruments that they do. Wonderful video - I really enjoyed it! :D

  • that was great thnx

  • Thanks for posting - when dealing with many guitar teachers and instructional videos most people focus on the "solos". What you are teaching is most important - and in many ways just as "difficult". Solos don't exist without songs! All the best musicians realize this. Thank You

  • Hi! Authorized77, good videos! Any plans for new bluegrass guitar instructionals?

  • Thanks for the lesson!

  • You're a good teacher, and AWESOME talent!

God bless, and the best of wishes, my friend!

  • hey ya, thanks alot 4 the lesson.

  • Yay, glad to know you think so :) Thanks for watching.

  • Bluegrass backup style seems very tricky to me! This is a phenomenal video! Thanks much for sharing!

  • Thanks a lot :) Glad you liked it and you're welcome!

  • DIGGIN THAT BLUERIDGE

  • Me too!

  • How long have you been playing bluegrass guitar, Bonnie?

  • Been playing bluegrass since I was 16 or so. I guess that'd make it 5 years now. Yikes, it doesn't seem like that long!!!

  • You're very good for only playing 5 years. I've been playing guitar since I was about 16, so that makes about 7 years now. I've just now become interested in playing bluegrass. Could you perhaps do a video focusing on walkdowns and walk ups? I'm not having such a hard time with the concept of what to do or even it's practice, its just hearing examples of different walkdowns/ups.

  • I love this video, so very useful

5* and thanks for taking the time to pass on your talent

  • Thank you very much, and you're welcome. I need to sit down and make another one.

  • I've learned a lot of guitarplaying by watching your videos... :)

  • Great to hear. Keep practicing!

  • I was impressed with your "G Run" video but what pleased me most is that you are a Christian and not afraid to show it. God bless you. I'm almost sixty years old and have been playing guitar for years. (at least I thought that I was playing until I started watching videos such as yours. I have been learning much from your lessons. Thanks for posting them.

  • Hey, thanks for the comment. Lol, I'll keep discovering things that I don't play, too, hopefully! :)

  • WOW,

I didnt know you had your own video series. You go girl.

Good stuff, That bluegrass is swingin' :D

  • Heh. Thank you. Yeah, bluegrass is great stuff :)

  • Wow, keep these kind of videos up!! Great teacher

  • Thanks man!

  • You look totally like Lisa Loeb!:)

  • Ah! I looked her up - it must be the glasses, partly :D Thanks :)

  • You're amazing!

  • God is amazing :) Thank you very much :)

  • Absolutley fantastic! Thankyou so much :-) Very condensed lesson. Will takes quite a few watches and a lot of practice to get it, but it's exactly what I've been looking for. I love your style. So authentic. Thanks again.

  • You're very welcome!

  • Thanks for emphasizing the metronome...I'm new and get lazy w/that

  • Heh, yeah, keep it up!

  • Wow, I enjoyed just listening to you play. There is so much to learn about the guitar.

  • Thanks :) See you guys in Florida, Lord willing?! :)

  • Good lesson, I will try some of this in G. You look small holding the big Blueridge Dreadnaught.

  • Thanks :)

Heh. Someone else told me that recently and said I might try a smaller guitar. I do like it pretty high though, and I keep the strap short. Maybe that is part of the reason it looks so big.

  • Something smaller than a "D" acoustic might not give you that authentic bluegrass tone.

  • Yeah, I've stuck with the D for now. Haven't really looked at any smaller guitars recently.

  • Aw, I'll try to make more lessons and more music then! You have a great week too, thanks :)

  • Great stuff, thanks for posting.

  • You're welcome, and thank you for that kind compliment!

  • great lesson, thanks, please do more... soon.

  • Any suggestions on the next one? :)

  • this is he best bluegrass lesson in youtube. Thanks a lot
