Man this match was amazing. From all of the chain-reversals and counters to the amazing Possum play at 1:59. These two deserved to wrestle on bigger stages than Heat.
@BathorysGraveland They were being a good crowd, Gail Kim was a heel and played dirty tactics during this match. When was the last time you heard a diva get really good heat? Lay-Cool and that's about it.
@operations1000 Because being a heel alone is totally a right reason to not show respect to someone, even if they put in 110% each and every night. Besides, many of the best wrestlers in history were heels.

Gail and Nidia both had such great potential and could have gone so far in WWE, but instead, they got cut in 2004. I can understand WWE releasing Jacqueline (her age) and Jazz (injury prone), but Gail and Nidia had a lot more to offer than any of those bimbos from the Diva Search that year.

@PetefukkinMoore Nidia got released in November 2004, along with Gail and Jazz. She wrestled on the indy circuit for a while, but she has a kid now. Not entirely sure what she's doing now, but she still makes occasional appearances at autograph signings.

No. Nidia and Gail were both in the Taboo Tuesday battle royal. Both of them (and Jazz) got cut not long afterwards because WWE wanted to go "in a different direction". They should have kept either one or both of these women and fired Molly Holly instead.

The Divas always brought their A-game on Sunday Night Heat for some reason....this was a great match between 2 very great female wrestlers! Gail's submission in the end looked sick!
These two women have so much to offer that these two should've atleast had a title in wwe, Smackdown should've started a Divas Champion in 2002 or 2003, it would be a great opprotunity for the divas on smackdown who never had a title, but had great athletisism (Torrie, Nidia, Dawn) and it could also bring new faces around rather than just seeing the same two divas fight over and over again. For example: Torrie and Dawn. They had some great matches but they weren't the only 2 divas on Smackdown.
These 2 ladies had great matches against eachother. Shame Nidia wasnt given more of a chance becasue she was growing into a great talent. Gail is just awesome and really shaped up.
That was quite a good match. I was particularly impressed with Nidia's performance, going up against someone as skilled as Gail Kim she managed to hold her own quite convincingly...
And she's so much better now! She has improved tremendously from then and yet she's suddenly losing matches to women like Michelle McCool and Maryse who she would have slaughtered in TNA. I hope the WWE finally allows her to wrestle as she can as she's even better now.
Ya, she wins the tag match with Mickie. I'd like to see her TNA side come back to us though. Have you watched any of the matches I sent? I'm in awe of those women who wrestle 30 to 45 minute matches taking enormous bumps over and over again while bleeding for real all over the place. Did you see the number Ayako did on Kong?
Actually, she has pinned Maryse and Michelle, more than they had pinned her, just 2 weeks ago when she took on Mickie for the title, I thought it was bullshit, Mickie missed the kick and pinned her by a forearm, that was a terrible match. Gail should win the title sooner or later but they might have Mickie win every single match, I mean I love Mickie but she doesn't have to win every match, it gets extremely annoying.
I know! That match got so messy & horrible @ the end. TNA is getting so hot in the knockout's division that I'm thinking Gail should go back for challenging matches. YES! There's really no difference anymore.Watching this match reminds me of the days when WWE allowed their women to put on good matches unlike the crap we see on Smackdown and often on RAW. And this was when Gail was still young and hadn't wrestled in Japan, Korea, Mexico, and then TNA when we saw a very different side from her than now. The WWE has slapped her in the face when she came back & it's a shame. Look at TNA now. WOW! They brought so many SHIMMER gals in and now have a tag belt

Before Jillian was forced to act like a fool, she was great in the indies and had so much potential, but WWE killed that. And Michelle McCool would never survive a match against any of Beth's, Natayla's, Gail's, Mickie's, & Katie-Lea's peers who they worked with for years, in respected promotions, internationally, & with TNA's Knockouts whom they all know (and that's a division to TNA has done a great job pushing than holding back as we see in the WWE)and the hardcore indies.
Michelle is not a sucky wrestler. she has been athlete all her life. Her core is really strong and she is not flubing more and making other wrestler look bad. the McCool and Melina match at NOC was one of the best famale matches of the year. just cause she came thru the diva search dont mean that she is not working hard. you can dislike her that fine( i dont even really like her.) but you cant take away what she can do in the ring. Beth, Natayla, her are the stronges females.
Have you watched the current Japanese women? They wrestle drenched in blood, with broken body parts for 30 to 60 minutes non-stop doing every match possible as the "Extreme" guys but making them look like little boys. And they wrestle with such honor and dignity;beyond excellence in technique, style, counters, offense & defense, stiff, endurance and durability. Natayla has yet to wrestle as she did in Japan. Even Kong, Melissa, and Sarita have as well. Do you really think McCrap would survive
I think Gail should have wrestled against them using all her skills as she showed in TNA just to prove the point that those two are years behind her. I think Gail has forgotten more about wrestling than those two goons could ever learn. Why hasn't Vince realized that the crowd is indifferent to McCrap? Fans don't care about her now & they didn't when she was a face. And sometimes they chant the Undertaker's name during her matches. How obvious is it the fans know about his political influence?
Jillian, micke and now katie-lea are letting their body core slip away.....and with that goes the talent that they have. Jillian getting a push, but if she keep flubing most and making melina look bad then her is about to be but back on the side show, but i really want to see gail and melina go at it. i dont know who would be the heel but the matches would be good. A. Fox could have a nice lil go at it to.
The WWE is nothing like it was when Moolah was in charge of the women during the 70s & 80s, & when the women competed just as fiercely as men, had main event matches, demanded respect & received it. Those women couldn't afford to get out of shape. Now, we have WWE FLUFF where women's wrestling has become a joke. The best women don't have to work anymore. They just have to look like a "diva" so that's why the gals you named have botched. TNA is putting women's wrestling on the map again
The difference is that in the 70's and 80's, the women had to actually be able to wrestle. Then Sable came along, and they decided that if a woman had enough sex appeal, and she had a good opponent to spoon-feed her during the match (Luna Vachon), you could make a superstar out of her. In 2004, they really started going with "divas" and oozing sex appeal became more important than having any wrestling ability.
Yes, I fortunately bought compilations of those women and tapes of AWA, LPWA, the old WWF when they cared, and when Moolah sent Wendi, LeiLani, Judy, Velvet, Princess V., Desiree P., Susan Star, Penny Mitchell, etc. to take on the Japanese. As great as those American women were, they had to resort to brawling tactics to keep up. And they played the heels as well. Sable was the beginning of the end, and it's just gotten worse over time. And there's a moron on another match telling me otherwise!
The knockout division has become so strong and competitive that the fans respect those gals for their talent, unique styles, and diversity opposed to "divaness." Vince should have resurrected the old WWF's women's tag belts and division that was once respected but TNA beat him to it & I had an intuitive feeling this would happen. Kook at that roster! Almost all those women worked & trained with Beth, Nattie, Gail, Mickie, Katie-Lea & Jillian, but they have to keep in top shape vs divas.
Believe it or not, if Gail changed face, she would (hopefully...Oh God!) be showing her TNA & International side, forcing her to work for her money as she used to. It wouldn't take Gail to get back in top shape again, but I'm afraid Melina wouldn't be able to catch up as much as I love her. And we also get to see Beth constantly threatening Michelle now. Truthfully, those who have seen the real nasty side of Beth (out of WWE)will be shocked to see if she breaks Michelle fast because she can

I agree. I like Mickie aswell but it always seems as if her & Melina have got the belts!!! & that match with Gail was badddddd. WWE's women's division sucks at the moment. They push the models the matches last about 2 minutes. They have a good few women who can wrestle like Beth, Natalya, Gail, Katie, Mickie ect so i don't c why they push the models!

@gothicawild Nidia became pretty good (I liked her better with Jamie Noble, though). Jackie got herself permanently branded as "incompetent" after that one match on Raw and was mainly a valet for Rico and Charlie Haas.

For starters, great crowd!! very into the match!! secondly, props to the divas involved!! Nidia & Gail Kim really sold this match! I agree that we will never see another decent match of this standard again in WWE. Looks is more important than talent.

No. Nidia and Gail were both in the Taboo Tuesday battle royal. Both of them (and Jazz) got cut not long afterwards because WWE wanted to go "in a different direction". They should have kept either one or both of these women and fired Molly Holly instead.

These two women have so much to offer that these two should've atleast had a title in wwe, Smackdown should've started a Divas Champion in 2002 or 2003, it would be a great opprotunity for the divas on smackdown who never had a title, but had great athletisism (Torrie, Nidia, Dawn) and it could also bring new faces around rather than just seeing the same two divas fight over and over again. For example: Torrie and Dawn. They had some great matches but they weren't the only 2 divas on Smackdown.

Actually, she has pinned Maryse and Michelle, more than they had pinned her, just 2 weeks ago when she took on Mickie for the title, I thought it was bullshit, Mickie missed the kick and pinned her by a forearm, that was a terrible match. Gail should win the title sooner or later but they might have Mickie win every single match, I mean I love Mickie but she doesn't have to win every match, it gets extremely annoying.

YES! There's really no difference anymore.Watching this match reminds me of the days when WWE allowed their women to put on good matches unlike the crap we see on Smackdown and often on RAW. And this was when Gail was still young and hadn't wrestled in Japan, Korea, Mexico, and then TNA when we saw a very different side from her than now. The WWE has slapped her in the face when she came back & it's a shame. Look at TNA now. WOW! They brought so many SHIMMER gals in and now have a tag belt

dude micheal work hard and she really has a finisher. she take bumbs. and have you looked a eve and layla. layla take her bumbs and sells the match really well. and eve is jumping off everything in the ring. she has a sick finisher. diva search may have been the worse thing to happen to the wwe divas but some good chicks have come from it that really love wrestling, Michelle, eve and layla.

Before Jillian was forced to act like a fool, she was great in the indies and had so much potential, but WWE killed that. And Michelle McCool would never survive a match against any of Beth's, Natayla's, Gail's, Mickie's, & Katie-Lea's peers who they worked with for years, in respected promotions, internationally, & with TNA's Knockouts whom they all know (and that's a division to TNA has done a great job pushing than holding back as we see in the WWE)and the hardcore indies.

Michelle is not a sucky wrestler. she has been athlete all her life. Her core is really strong and she is not flubing more and making other wrestler look bad. the McCool and Melina match at NOC was one of the best famale matches of the year. just cause she came thru the diva search dont mean that she is not working hard. you can dislike her that fine( i dont even really like her.) but you cant take away what she can do in the ring. Beth, Natayla, her are the stronges females.

Have you watched the current Japanese women? They wrestle drenched in blood, with broken body parts for 30 to 60 minutes non-stop doing every match possible as the "Extreme" guys but making them look like little boys. And they wrestle with such honor and dignity;beyond excellence in technique, style, counters, offense & defense, stiff, endurance and durability. Natayla has yet to wrestle as she did in Japan. Even Kong, Melissa, and Sarita have as well. Do you really think McCrap would survive

I think Gail should have wrestled against them using all her skills as she showed in TNA just to prove the point that those two are years behind her. I think Gail has forgotten more about wrestling than those two goons could ever learn. Why hasn't Vince realized that the crowd is indifferent to McCrap? Fans don't care about her now & they didn't when she was a face. And sometimes they chant the Undertaker's name during her matches. How obvious is it the fans know about his political influence?

Jillian getting a push, but if she keep flubing most and making melina look bad then her is about to be but back on the side show, but i really want to see gail and melina go at it. i dont know who would be the heel but the matches would be good. The WWE is nothing like it was when Moolah was in charge of the women during the 70s & 80s, & when the women competed just as fiercely as men, had main event matches, demanded respect & received it. Those women couldn't afford to get out of shape. Now, we have WWE FLUFF where women's wrestling has become a joke. The best women don't have to work anymore. They just have to look like a "diva" so that's why the gals you named have botched. TNA is putting women's wrestling on the map again

The difference is that in the 70's and 80's, the women had to actually be able to wrestle. Then Sable came along, and they decided that if a woman had enough sex appeal, and she had a good opponent to spoon-feed her during the match (Luna Vachon), you could make a superstar out of her. In 2004, they really started going with "divas" and oozing sex appeal became more important than having any wrestling ability.

Yes, I fortunately bought compilations of those women and tapes of AWA, LPWA, the old WWF when they cared, and when Moolah sent Wendi, LeiLani, Judy, Velvet, Princess V., Desiree P., Susan Star, Penny Mitchell, etc. to take on the Japanese. As great as those American women were, they had to resort to brawling tactics to keep up. And they played the heels as well. Sable was the beginning of the end, and it's just gotten worse over time. And there's a moron on another match telling me otherwise!

The knockout division has become so strong and competitive that the fans respect those gals for their talent, unique styles, and diversity opposed to "divaness." Vince should have resurrected the old WWF's women's tag belts and division that was once respected but TNA beat him to it & I had an intuitive feeling this would happen. Kook at that roster! Almost all those women worked & trained with Beth, Nattie, Gail, Mickie, Katie-Lea & Jillian, but they have to keep in top shape vs divas.

They push the models the matches last about 2 minutes. They have a good few women who can wrestle like Beth, Natalya, Gail, Katie, Mickie ect so i don't c why they push the models!

Nidia and Miss Jackie became really good wrestlers(well not amazing) but good in short time.
it takes divas that have been there for 5 years now ages to learn the simplist of moves.
If WWE wanted hot new divas so badly, they coulda just done a female tough enough with an occasionally sexy task. woulda made them and us happy to have hot divs, who are being trained to WRESTLE. Unline the diva search which was swimsuit contest constantly during the segments, AND after.
