  • a sociopath does something terrible and suddenly it's a picture of america ? Does he realize there have been sadistic teenagers and humans for all of our history? Meanwhile, violent crime is lower than it's been in 50 years, but let's just use that tunnel vision the media perpetuates.

  • Values? Soul? Religion? This coming from a man on his fourth marriage. He broke his promise to God THREE TIMES previously when he divorced and then re-married. He thought nothing of giving up and lying to God when he promised "till death do us part." I guess his previous wives "interrupted his good time." Rush Limbaugh is a liar. He cheapens the TRUTH.

  • @Kreftoon You would have a point IF Rush filed for divorce, and not his wife. I realize it is somewhat normal to hold the man responsible for the woman's actions, but that is a bit old fashioned, don't you think?

  • @l337pwnage Perhaps you are right about old fashioned. But isn't that what Rush advocates daily; a return to old fashioned values? And since Rush agreed to the divorce as well, it seems that there is still plenty of responsibility to go around.

  • @Kreftoon Without the papers to look at, we can only guess as to who initiated and who agreed, but I know for a fact that depending on location, only one person has to agree, the other person is along for the ride.

And, statistically, the majority of divorces are filed for by women, and the reasons should be obvious.

Before his most recent marriage, he had said on the air that he wasn't going to get married again, but apparently his weakness for women is as bad as that for painkillers, lol.

  • @l337pwnage Now I cannot argue with that! *LOL* Touche!

  • Rush is too simplistic to blame school shootings on the "cheapening of life". Britain has very lax laws on abortion and we haven't had any school shootings since we banned guns. You can't say everyone can own an item designed simply to kill without cheapening life anyway. Mind you, before I saw this video I thought Rush was as crazy as Glenn Beck or Ann Coulter. This was pretty thoughtful stuff though.

  • @bobisterbezreal if you listen to his show its not so bad but if you take random sentences and splice em together or take them out of context he sounds like a crazy guy as would anyone with an alternative opinion.

  • This still applies to today. More evidence that morals never expire or devalue with time.

  • This was back in the day when Limbaugh was interesting. It's sad to watch when I see what he's become.

This segment wouldn't go over well in 2009. He's been married 3 times and convicted of drug possession. He wouldn't be a good spokesman for values and religion UNLESS he could discuss his own actions with a little truth and humility. Modern-day Rush is too egotistical for that.

I consider myself spiritual, not religious. Religion often distorts love of self and others though its dogma.

  • This reply is not meant to have a rude tone. Just offering another angle to think about:

Actually, he did discuss his prescription drug addiction openly on the show and even took calls on the topic. He explained how he found himself in a situation that was no one else's fault but his.

  • Actually, when you look at Rush's addiction and how he handled it, it is a good picture of conservatism in the sense that he did not blame anyone else and he took charge of fixing the problem without having to rely on others to fix it for him.

And if you actually listen to an entire show several times, you will pick up on his satire and see that when he is "egotistical" he is usually coming from a humorous angle.

He has also discussed his marriage experiences.

  • So, I guess my question is, what do you want him to do? Keep killing the topic of his divorces or his drug addiction and overcoming of that addiction? What good would it do? Discussing the divorces would probably not be very classy and could potentially hurt the women involved. Legally he's probably not allowed to anyway.

  • "spiritual, not religious"

I'm not honest, but your interesting.

  • The soul does not exist. Even Socrates argued with his student that the soul existed when his student didn't believe. Even then there were people with minds that saw the idiocy of believing in a soul.

America no longer bows to the religious right. Down with rush.

  • This has nothing to do with today. This has been going on for thousands of years. we are no more violent now than we were two thousand years ago.

Rush uses stories like this to instill fear in the weak minded religious followers that will vote for his party.
