  • Flip turns are soooo much faster. My coach would beat me if I did an open turn in a race. :P

  • @MsCarpetShark - So you've still to explore those other strokes called breaststroke and butterfly? Keep working... you'll get there.

  • @goswim098

Not at all! Fly is what I excel at, actually. :) I've been a swimmer for 11 years... But with Fly and Breastroke, you touch with two hands or you get DQ'd... I'm not sure how you made that connection. :P

  • @MsCarpetShark This is step 2 of 5. Try to watch the entire sequence first, then it will all make more sense.

  • excellent, I think this will work much better for me that the flip turn, cause I can't take all that water up my nose! thanks for such awesomelly informative videos!

  • is this legal in freestyle competitions? It seems so much more comfortable

  • @DaveySch - Yes. You're not required to do a flip turn.

  • Do you have to use flip turn when doing competive freestyle?

  • @musicraze66 No. You just have to touch the wall.

  • @billypony yes a flipturn is much faster. I don't recommend trying this with one hand in a breaststroke or butterfly race, because you will be disqualified :)

  • this seems so much more efficient than a flip turn to me? why cant you do it like this all the time? is a flip turn alot faster?

  • @billypony yes flip turns are much much faster

  • i thought u have to touch with both hands

  • @animelover1082 - If you're swimming a competitive event, and breaststroke or butterfly, yes, you have to touch with 2 hands. However, there are many people out there who don't want to do flip turns, so this is a quick sequence to show them how to do a more efficient open turn. Hope that explains things a bit more.

  • I'll try to re-export, but turn down the volume. Sorry... didn't hear that.

  • WTF was at 2:31?

  • @Darkanglelorde that's the sound of head crashing into the wall. The instructor says that "the head should actually touch the wall."
