  • "Please be to our god Od'n" Yep, they definitely sailed here first.

  • The native americans would never charge so foolishly!!

  • god what a horrible production. shame on Hollywood

  • This with the 1976 film THE SPECIALIST starring ADAM WEST would be a great double feature...Bring the popcorn

  • but... they weren't Iroquois and vinland was in Newfoundland.... and I'm pretty sure they didn't stop in the sub-sahara to pick up one black dude on their way... kind of makes me wonder how much dis-info was going around back THEN.

  • Bescheuert!

  • WHAT THE FUCK VIKINGS DID NOT HAVE HORNS IN THEIR HELMET! The director of this movie should be burnt to death!

  • @AngryGunslinger actualy in proto viking time - have

    In period 50 a.d. - 400 a.c

But not big and idiotic like in this movie

  • @vlad9vt I don't remember how it went but I've heard where the myth came from. Find me a reliable source confirming you, otherwise I will never believe you.

  • Did you guys see Gandalf in there, they must have found the Undying lands/Valinor

  • lol Vinland was / is Newfoundland, CANADA

  • To those who laughed at Costner's accent when he played Robin Hood, listen to Lee Majors and cringe!

  • Lee Majors.

  • What a sorry excuse for a movie. To all you Norsemen fans out there. It has never been proven that Norsemen / Vikings wore horned helmets. They might have been 'horny' but that's about it, sorry!::)

  • even the Indians looked pretty white in the trailer. LOL.

  • Viking, WE COMIN FOR YOU NIGGA.

  • Aaaaaahhhh!!!! FUCK VIKINGS WITH HORNS!! UUuuuugghh, im having a heart attack!! GAAAGGHhh................

  • norway vs america norway win!!!!!! jajaja alt for norge

  • Lee Majors staring in a low-budget movie.

  • Every fucking viking with horn helmets... this is why kids know shit about history, thank you hollywood.

  • Comment removed

  • Is this a comedy.

    Viking with horn???

    Black vikings??

I think this is something hollywood made, as usually it is as historically inaccurate that it can be.

  • the vikings that found america were from iceland, not from norway. leifur eiríkson is the name of the man who found america first, and he was born in iceland. It always gets me frustrated when people get that fact wrong

  • 0:08- A redguard in Skyrim Navy?

    Skyrim for the NORDS!

  • apparently Africans are Vikings too...

  • The black guy was a slave, idiot.

  • Comment removed

  • ahahahahha look at all those HORNS!!! AHAHAHA

  • A black viking, now cant us scandinavians at least keep our history without having black people involved just because they are still butthurt about slavery.

  • Fail 1 - Vikings didn't actually wear bull horns on their helmet. Fail 2 - They didn't came from Norway they travelled from Greenland. Fail 3 - A black viking? Really??

  • @LeanderMr 1. Some vikings vield horn in their helmets, but it was for special occasions, like marrige. 2. I'm a Norwegian, and yes, many vikings came from Norway. Google map us, and check out our frigging coastline. Lots of vikings all over in Scandinavia. Those from Greenland was mostly immigrants from Norway. 3. This movie is like every american movie. They have black people to send out a message they're not racist xD

    - And I facepalm all over the place for picturing the vikings like these.

  • @BBQFrag 1. Vikings wasn't wielding horns in they helmets, no matter what!!!!

  • @vonlubcke From what I know the horns on their helmets was made up by victims of raids and such. Vikings were said to be outlandish, and in some cases to league with the devil. Of course, then, they said they had horns on their helms.

Vikings were pretty practical people. There's no reason to have horns on your helmet, as they only serve excellent places to grab at whilst in a fight, so they didn't have horns on them.

  • @BBQFrag There is no evidence, archaeological or othervise, that Viking warriors wore any types of horns or wings on their helmets in battle or at special occasions. This myth orriginated from a ceremonial tapestry discovered in Sweden with pictures of warriers with horns in their helmets. It was later revealed that it dated back to the bronze age, not the viking age. It is belived that the traditions of wearing horns faded out in the start of the eight century, before the vikings.

  • @BBQFrag At the time the Vikings migrated to Amerika, they had allready settled on Greenland and lived there for generations. This means that the Vikings who traveled to america orriginated in Greenland. To be more accurate it is more likely that the majority if not all of the Vikings who traveled to America was of greenlandic origin not Norwegian. It is true many Norwegians migrated to Greenland, but they would be consiered a minority compared to the people who were born in Greenland.

  • @BBQFrag Actually mate, there is absolutely no archaeological evidence they wore horned helmets, in fact the very notion came from a 17th century artists depiction who used a wee too much imagination. The only culture to have significant evidence of wearing horned helmets were the Celts, and again, only for ceremonial purposes. Horns worn on a helmet would counter act the entire use of a helmet, deflection from blows.

  • @BBQFrag No horned helmets have ever been found or written of. Please let me know where you have found such evidence. I love to learn new things.

Greenland was settled (invaded) by Icelandic folks, not Norwegian. That is sort of saying the British went to the moon because America was originally England's colony.

I do agree with you about the blacks though ; )

  • @BBQFrag Dude, you can't take it serious. This movie was made this way on purpose. Thats why its called a "Grindhouse" movie. Since you just stereotype Americans, maybe you should watch an American movie called "American Grindhouse". Excellent documentary about the art of Grindhouse so you won't get them confused again!

  • Scardinavian American have being trying to lay claim to America before the Spaniard/Italian for year..bytheway they never landed in America forsake, it an island call newfoundland

  • Black vinking man??

  • @mafelbr "african slave"

  • Is it me or did I see a BLACK VIKING!?

  • why the hate on this movie?

  • "We have found the new land of the west. Gad dammit. " Crap. Lee Majors. Oh for fuck off. :/

  • discovered America. sure. ok. But they did nothing about it. You can find 10 bucks on the street and walk past . Or you can pick it up.

  • I honestly want to stab the director of this

  • I shall do whatever it takes to avoid this movie.

  • If i remember correct, Denmark had taken over Norway at that time, and took the name Denmark-Norway, so tecnically, it was Denmark that found America? :D

  • @Kaschowitch Denmark ruled over Norway first hundreds of years after the vikings.

  • @Kaschowitch

lol no, this is long before that

  • How can someone dislike this trailer :))

  • hahahahaha a nigger viking?!?!? wtf

  • Good lord. The inaccuracy, it astounds me.

  • what's the black guy doing there ? movie fail lvl political correctness

  • @zwerverbeer In the 70's there was a law that in every movie must play an afro-american.

  • Америкоский бред на тему викингов.

Как плохо не знать историю народа о котором решил фильм снять.

    Отстойный фильм, пародия на викингов.

  • The $6,000,000 Norseman and a token colored. Nice.

    ° Exsanguination the Movie ©2011 •

  • a black man i norway at year 1000?

  • Those Gigantic horns (with thick, furry cuffs at the bottom) on the helmets are fuckin hilarious - the narrative, too........"and they called him...The Norseman!". Waitaminnit, wasn't it Lief Ericsson or Eric The Red that sailed to Vinland?. I don't know if they described the Iroquois or fought with them, haven't read the Sagas.

  • Looks like a horrible movie. But my Dad's from Norway and any movie that promotes our Viking heritage I give a thumbs up! d :)

  • i dont wanna watch this movie just of that nigger being made a viking, seriously what the fuck was that

  • @aayodh143 well, at the time he may've been a 'token black' but it's not that odd, the Vikings went everywhere. What's funny for me is that he used to push 'Ironside' around in the old TV serial. I can't get that image out of my head. Then there's the Six Million Dollar Man....on the other hand it could be a decent movie (A MOVIE)

  • If i look to history and i think of my own thougt about Vikings I think they were great warriors in MIND and innteligence, They could create such War Clothes shields and ships, They just defended them selves for the real angry people in that time.

  • one of the reasons I refused to go see Thor the movie. an African-American norse god? How about if I demand the next zulu movie have a few white or latino warriors in the tribe to balance things out. Hollywood is ridiculous.

  • @WintersWar: Thor was played by Aussie Chris Hemsworth, last I checked....although Heimdall appears to have been played by Idris Elba, so there is a bit of truth here.

However, though, I don't see any problems here. Hollywood can do what it wants.

  • it's too bad film companies think they have to re-write history and kowtow to the race-baiters like jesse jackson and al sharpton, who use strong-arm tactics to force them to use blacks in every film, no matter how unlikely the practical or historical probability. in the slim chance the vikings did come across a black, they would have probably used him as fish bait or sell him to the byzantine greeks.

  • @azboomer1950: Where's your proof? You're full of crap.

Hollywood sometimes does things that might not be 100% accurate. But you know what? It's a free country, and they can do what they please, whether you like it or not.

  • haha wtf is this, I know for a fact that the vikings never had any black slaves! they never went further down than gibraltar and malaga! I guess this move just needed to fill it's quota with black actors!

  • @PowerMatty: Who cares? Quit whining, man, it's a Hollywood movie. There's a difference between pointing out inaccuracies and making them out to be some sort of 'anti-white' or 'PC' conspiracy as some have.

  • @macbrack04 Those poor white people. To balance it out I suggest imposing some sort of law that favors them and keeps the two ethnicities apart. What's the Afrikaan word for separation?

  • he used to be an adventurer, but then he took an arrow to the knee. then he just became a badass

  • Looks like someone combined their plastic ingots and iron halmir to make a Historically Inaccurate Viking Helm.

  • I wanna see some swedish vikings

  • Like most American productions of the past 30+ years there has to be an African American (or whatever other combination suits racial pressure groups) in there somewhere no matter how ridiculous it makes the plot....... Not so when it comes to African cinema....they rigourously avoid employing european characters..... No equality laws in Africa you see.....

  • @macbrack04 You don't know much about Nollywood, do you? Their rule of thumb is, if you show up during the shoot, you get to play. An American reporter that was writing a story on it ended up playing the hero's American friend. So they are even more equal opportunity than America, as long as you loiter around long enough and don't mind a little typecasting.

  • @macbrack04 This is based on..?

Yeah your right District 9 had no white people at all.

  • Vikings/Norsemen did not only come from Norway, they came from ALL of Scandinavia!

  • 00:08 - Well fuck me, trvue norseman!

  • Canada not america

  • a black viking???:))))))))))))

  • the historical inaccuracy gives me a headache!!!

  • Imagine a glancing blow on a horned helmet, then one without horns. Doesn't take long to figure why that's bulloney.

  • I'm guessing this movie sucked.

  • Gandalf???? 0:59

  • I used to see vikings as they are portrayed in this movie, but then I took lectures at the university to my brain.

  • see i knew there were black vikings lol

  • the horned

  • a black viking OMG ROFL

  • at least it says that they discover América and not that fucking jew Colon,

  • 0:08 So it wasn't just Marvel with Heimdall in Thor who copped out by having an African-American being of Viking descent... lol..

  • Oh dear...........

  • So that was the first afro-american?

This seems to be a really cheezy movie. Must see it!

  • Black viking at 0:08 made me lol

  • WTF is Deacon Jones a Viking for?? Good Christ it's this kind of blatantly stupid shit that makes political correctness intolerable. Why not make Brad Pitt and Viggo Mortensen Zulu Warriors?

  • 1:00 gondolf

  • Holy cow that cheesy.

  • correction, 1:00 is about right to see the lovely Susie ;)

  • 1:02 ... Oooooooo Susie Coelho!, that would be about the only reason why i would watch it :)

  • a black viking o.o

  • There is an important study which suggests vikings went to north america 5x10 suqared before collumbus also in Colombia, were I come from, speaks of an eccentric legend of a man with long white hair and white skin that taught them the essential skills of survivel.

  • This is really painful to watch :D

    But ... I MUST AQUIRE!

  • But the soundtrack is good!

  • The Six Million Kronor Viking

  • Everyone had horns and moustache

  • this is the gayest thing ive ever seen

  • WHY DONT PEOPLE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT VIKINGS??? I´M ICELANDIC AND LET ME TEL YOU THAT THIS IS SO INACCURATE THAT ,, MY EYES DRIP GREEN SLIME,, !!!!!! YOU STUPID FUCKS STOP WONDERING ON THE INTERNET FOR THIS CRAP AND OPEN A BOOK!!!!!!! OR ASK ANY ICELANDER, DANE, NORSMAN OR SOME ONE FROM SWEDEN AND THEY WILL TEL YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW !!!!!!

  • @Heidinnensamtekki right on, brother! I'm from Norway & this is bullshit. Any questions about the REAL viking history, ask here

  • @fohawk871 whyred how people normally dont know anything about our ancestors. I mean I know that it was Abraham lincoln that freed the slaves not George Bush. How stupid can people be...

  • @Heidinnensamtekki

I know too. I am part Ukrainian and can tell you that the Slavs who took up the viking lifestyle were the same way. None of this bullshit seen in this movie.

  • I saw this at a drive-in theater. Whoof! It was as bad as it looked. Of course, the only reason we went was because Lee Majors was starring in the Six Million Dollar Man. Stick with Kirk Douglas inThe Vikings.

  • hahaha with an African slave xD

  • ummm. discovered the mik mak indians.

  • 1. The vikings didn't wear Horns

    2. The Vikings didn't have slaves based on race

    3. The Vikings never sought to conquer the Natives

But they did discover North America, so go suck a dick columbus

  • @TrollMaster5

oh for the love of god its a movie, not a document (good facts tho)

movies are meant to make children happy, not to be 100% right on everything :)

  • @TrollMaster5 also australia..

  • @TrollMaster5 The "Norseman" did not find America. it was the Vikings from Iceland!.

  • @trendonTV wait what? The vikings from iceland were norsemen

  • @trendonTV but the Norsemen discovered Iceland and Greenland, hence they did find america

  • @trendonTV "Norsemen" ment the "men from the noth" and reffered to Scandinavia as the map looked way different back then. The Vikings from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland was related to eachother and could be looked upon as one solid ppl.

  • @TrollMaster5 ever wondered how euro-centric it is to say that columbus discovered north america? after all it was the native Americans that got there first hundreds of years before him.

  • @Rex1987 They didn't discover it, they originated there. Hence why they're called natives.

  • @MidgardMessiah yes they did. They came from Siberia and walked over to Alaska via the ice covered ocean. True story.

  • @Rex1987 Quite a trekk.

  • further the vikings never wore plated armour ( they wore leather, or ring armour, and only the chiefs/king or the bodyguards "Hird") However the vikings did go to north africa (according to Snorre's book about the norwegian kings)

  • lolz at the black viking

  • 0:47 - lousy special effects :P

  • And they didnt talk english

  • Oh, great. America ruined yet another historic movie.

  • VIKINGS DID NOT HAVE HORNS ON THEIR HELMETS

  • A viking never cuts his hair or beard!

  • suzie cohelo---married to sonny bono at the time, so that makes her related to cher.

  • "Viking african slave"? Could that be the most obvious Token-character in Hollywood history? xD

  • The only vikings to ever get to America was the Swedes.

There's Swedish runestones in Minnesota and not Norweigan or Danish runestones.

    Bullshit film.

  • worst viking movie ever

  • Deacon Jones can be anything, I accept, but not a Viking. Haha

  • Leif Erikson was not a Norwegian. He was born in Iceland and lived in Greenland most of his life. His father was born in Norway but emigrated to Iceland and then on to Greenland. These men were Norsemen. At the time there was not any difference between people born in Norway, Iceland or Greenland.

  • ROFLMAO!!! xDDDDDD

  • I thought this movie would be good from the title and then halfway through the trailer I'm cringing until I begin to just laugh at this junk.

  • ROFL!!!!!! What a load of shit.

  • im getting sick of the ppl thinking that viking have horn on the helmets.... They had face protecktion not HORN.. and they dident use dubble sided axes... thats just stupid its to heavy to use...and they used wood shields. but i forgive you because its a very old movie.

  • Comment removed

  • I cracked up. :'D

  • The historical inaccuracy makes my eyes drip green slime

  • @5355vbxjbj76rvn

Agreed. At least they got the scrailings right.

  • hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa so stupid

  • who is the asshole who made this shit?

  • @frodo9 Let's find him and kill him with fire!

  • @JustWickedSwede I agree. I got the ropes.

  • The historical inaccuracy is making my ears cry purple blood.

  • I'm not racist, but I NEVER heard about a black viking.

  • What stupid movie

  • Shitty americanized shitfilm! Didn't wear horns, didn't wear chainmail armor (they wore leatherarmor & furarmor and the most important in this subject...there was actually no violence between the native indians and the vikings!

  • @SwedishPride87 Actually they did wear chain mail armor, every warrior in Europe did back then, while in this, they are wearing plate cuirasses, which pretty much didn't exist at the time.

It's true that more often the vikings wore lighter armor, but seeing as they are not vikings, but rather explorers, they probably wore regular warm clothes.

  • @icecremer it also depends on what time we are talking about. yes i totaly agree!

  • @SwedishPride87 Well, I would assume that we are talking about the 8th century, like this video (Even though Leif Ericson discovered Vinland somewhere during the early 11th century) .

Regardless, chain mail existed in the viking age from the start (Late 700s-early 1000s), while metal cuirasses started appearing somewhere during the 14th century (If I remember correctly).

  • @icecremer It sounds about right :)

  • @SwedishPride87 right, but flawed. When raiding, they wore fur & leather armor, but when actually in battle, they wore steel plate & chainmail armor (chain. over steel or steel over chain., depends on the viking himself), but the despicable stereotype is those ridiculous horns. Its like saying I drink & dance in green & have a pot of gold because I'm irish. NORSE-IRISH to be exact

  • @fohawk871 Not steelplate but scalemail, and where there are divided opinions because they have not found any armor out of that type madein nordic materials. A common who lived during the Viking era could not afford chainmail armor. So my thesis is that leather and fur were common. But I guess most of those Vikings who went to the East had heavier armor.

  • very cool that youre Norse-Irish by the way :)

  • @SwedishPride87 thanks :) Awesome that you're swedish. Do you also come from viking lineage?

  • @fohawk871 Thanks :) I am not sure actually. Through the past 1000 years sweden have had a contant stream of immigrants from whole of europe. I know that about 400-600 years back my ancestors were farmers :) so that makes the chance bigger i guess :)

  • @SwedishPride87 Umm...Vikings did use chainmail armor. They did not, however, wear platemail as depicted in this movie.

Also, there was a certain amount of violence between indians and the vikings - Why else do you think the vikings left the coast of Canada?

  • @JohnZackarias Yes it was used, but not by larger numbers. It was not common for a regular viking to own that kind of armor.

According to what i have read there was some signs of violence beteween the native indians & the vikings. Bjarne Herjolfsson sailed along the North American coast in 986 but never got of the ship, they just turned home. Leif Eriksson reached the coast later on but was killed by "skrälingar", their word for the natives :)

  • @JohnZackarias They didn't just start fighting as soon as they saw the indians. They developed a trade agreement and traded furs and all kinds of resources. Right now I'm too tired to type any more so why don't you just look up some documentaries and read some books on the subject. I've been studying this since I went to preschool.

  • @kristjanarn I never implied anything of the sort.
