Honestly, I'm insulted that someone decided to turn such a great piece of literature into a musical... *sigh* First Lord of the Rings, then I hear of a possible Harry Potter musical, and now I find out about this.
Not saying that the acting and vocals weren't fabulous (which they were) I'm just disgusted that someone thought this show was a good idea.
Well, I think it's a great idea. The songs fit the book so well, so as long as the music captures the essence of the story, then it's wonderful! (And I got these songs stuck in my head now, so thanks a lot rokannis and singindancinfool!) XD

The musical was WAY before the 2005 movie. My local community theater did the musical back in 1993.
