Tears in my eyes when I see this Canadian veteran be thankfull for this remembrance and probably thinking back at 1945....Thx Canada for liberating us!
Although there is an ocean in between, it feels Canada and Netherlands are one. Thank you Canada, the greatest country in the world. Eternal love from the Netherlands for proven accomplishments!!
Forever grateful to the brave Dutch men and woman who fought with the Resistance movement. Without their constant attempts at sabotaging the German war machine and flow of intelligence the Canadians job would have been much harder and what we would read in history books today would be of a Dutch Holodomor. If the complete liberation of Holland hadn't occurred in the first week of May 1945 hundreds of thousands of Dutch would have been dead from starvation by the second.
what was that bagpipe music at the beginning

My father was 12yrs at that time , during the liberation of his village "Nieuwleusen".
The 18th armoured car div. of the A,B,C or D comp. under comm.Peter Black who represented the 12th Manitoba Dragoons moved up to next target "Zwolle".
My target is to investigate that history and thanking his liberators in his name.
He died dec 3 2008 of cancer...
Thanks to all Canadian soldiers, but also the Polish brigade under comm, Zozabowski, Belgian and French volunteers
Erwin.

@auclair84 One of your countryman (ww2 veteran) said; freedom for Holland, it diddnt come for free.
But they did it nevertheless.Ultimate sacriface for a little country.
My grands and parents made sure i would understand.
The parade is the least we can do for our liberators.
For you (Canadians) who still have grands who served in WW2, give them a kiss from Holland.
