You're welcome. The discs from the series Entartete Musik are now hard to find. I was lucky to buy this cd in Buenos Aires (in Brazil, I could not find it).
Very nice to be able to hear some of Schulhoff's work. Just like Tansman, Harsanyi, and Mihalovici, this fine composer's music is sadly off the map for most people.
What a treasure! I have the complete score for this piece (it has a total of 8 movements)and, after having played through it a number of times, I can't help but wonder if Schulhoff derived many of the Partita's themes from R. Whiting's "The Japanese Sandman." This borrowing, if it isn't merely a figment of my imagination, is most apparent in mvt 2 (not included on this disc), but it's also audible to some extent in all the other jazz-inspired movements. Does anyone else get this impression?
You may be the only Youtuber who has heard of him. A fellow collector has many of his original records and I was quite taken with them. This is the only one I've been able to find and it came from Argentina!
He is not totally forgotten; for instance Channel Classics issued several interesting cd's of his chamber music, and also in the Czech Republic a few remarkable recordings were made.
I'm afraid no record producer has seen this post yet, he would immediately realize the value of those recordings (and not only as a historical document, but also artistically).
Thanks for posting this. I'm currently rehearsing the flute sonata.

These recordings of Schulhoff's music by the composer himself can be found in the disc Schulhoff: Concerts alla jazz, from Decca.

Thank you VERY much for this info. Actually, the title is Concertos Alla Jazz. Very hard to find, at least in the US - I had to pay $48.

I'm assuming that the extremely fine playing is in fact Schulhoff's own?

Very interesting! His music perfectly reflects the 1920-s atmosphere. Thank you for posting!

He made quite a few records but they are very difficult to find. Thanks for uploading your playing of his works.

Have you considered converting this LP to MP3 somehow, if only for posterity's sake?

I simply have too many records to even think about such an overwhelming project. I'll always have the original and, of course, now its on YT.

most of the work would have been done while recording this. Converting to mp3 is the quickest part. ;)

Fantastic to hear a vintage recording of Schulhoff's music. A very good composer who is not well-remembered today.

Yes, I know that there are a fair number of recordings of his music but I wish someone would reissue his own '20's piano recordings.
