isn't olive oil carcenogenic when it is heated (wow....sorry that spelling was bad)? this is what i have heard...but then again, what isn't these days???
of course this is right. i did not say that all italian olive oil comes from greece. but take into consideration that all the olive oil from italy does not justify the exports and the production output all over the world under Italian olive oil labels.
Yes, this is what happen with generic "Made in Italy" labels - but this is not true for Academia Barilla, who is committed to support regional artisan farmers around Italy in the production and distribution of traditional Italian food.
This happens not only for the production of olive oil, but also for a number of traditional gourmet foods such as Parmigiano-Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, and more.
Come have a look at our website academiabarilla dot com, and check out our Italian Food Lovers blog italian-food-lovers dot com, you'll see how we really work hard to protect the REAL "Made in Italy" gourmet food.
I also show a discovery (i think) documentry about how the italian consumers get fooled at super markets thinking they are getting italian olive oil, with names such as Bertoli sacho etc when actually not a single drop of italian olive oil comes into their factories. Tunish, turkeym spain and greece a mixture of all.
there is no stoping to goglomarate companies willing to spent a lot of money in many levels..
this is why you really have to stick with a brand you know and trust, if you really want to go for the real Italian food - and this is true not only for the food, but for all the "Made in Italy" thing - do you know how many fashion brands claim to be 'Italian design" and then they are designed in the US and manufactured in a seat shop in Asia?
Again - follow the brand you trust not to get fooled by marketing label. After all you pay for the quality, right?
its not how olive oil tastes but how well it works in your dish LOL..

Turkish and Greek olive oil taste the best.

I disagree with you. Most Italian olive oil is a cheat, mostly dye. The best olive oil is either greek or spanish. Italians are cheats. mama mia.

cancerous, you mean - or maybe cancerogenic...
absolutely not when heated, otherwise the whole humanity wouldn't fry and deep fry - do you reckon?
But yes, not only it is not good for you when the oil is burned, but also it is not advisable to use the same oil over and over and over again...
By the way, it doesn't seems like this tasting technique requires heating...

@academiabarilla Why don't you label it as "Product of Italy"? Or with a DOP ?
