I don't speak Chinese, but I think this is really BRILLIANT humor. One of the funniest full- length movies I have seen in my long lifetime.

Peter Sellers made a movie in the 1970's, I believe it was called "The Party". I would break out into loud laughter from just thinking about it, for many days after I saw it.

This movie makes me do the same thing. EXCELLENT! I truly wish that I understood it in the native tongue, because I am sure it would be even better .!!!Thanks for posting this

It's not entirely necessary to understand the cantonese words directly as a lot can be conveyed in intonation and such. I've watched so much subbed anime that I have a good feel for the language.

Some characters are Cantonese and some are mandarin. The coolie is a mandarin speaking Cantonese with an accent and so are a dozen examples in the movie. Another example: brother sum tells in the beginning to the triad leader with the boots that his gang has come to the south. This is another thing that you cannot dub in English because there are two main dialects crossing in the movie. You know, the humor of Stephen Chow lies in the Hong Kong and Cantonese humor. You just cannot dub that!
