Man , Why didnt I check your stuff earlier......I've been doin some hippie blues lately..and wanted to fit some Blind Owel in there. Thanks a bunch as always....For your Vanderbilly stuff too !
@privettricker your actually playing A#, D#7, and F7, your guitar is tuned up half a step, the song is basic blues progression in A#, you know that but it can confuse others
@MrBB102 Regardless of where you're tuned, there's no F or F7 in it. The three chords of the progression would be D, A7, and G7. At least, those are the chord fingerings. Beginners shouldn't get hung up on tuning to 440, because rock songs are all over the place in terms of tuning. For example, most AC/DC songs are in A or E, but few of them in the same key are tuned alike. I hope that makes sense!
@privettricker I just played along to your video in standard tuning EADGBe (no capo) and the chords were, as I said A#, D#7, F7. you are not playing D, G7 or A7. if you were the notes in the first chord would be D, A and F#. however they are not. they are A#, E# and D, making it an A# chord, not a D. No matter where you put the capo DOES NOT change the key of the song, just the chord positions. the first chord you play is and A shape, but your guitar is tuned up a half step making it A#

Nice playing mate! :D
Excuse me but what tuning are you in!
Is the guitarist in Canned Heat tuned to some open tuning or does he also play with capo? :)
Thanks in advance

@SavantSvant For this one, he's in standard tuning. For his slide work, I'm guessing he's in open tunings (open A for Let's Work Together....).

What chords are you playing?
SavantSvant 1 year ago
@SavantSvant That's D, G7 and A7. You hammer the D and A7 chords on and off.

Have you tryed to put capo' on 8th fret ? Try !
ramurel2006 2 years ago
Well, where you put the capo depends on how high you're tuned.
If I were tuned a half-step higher, I'd put the capo down one fret. If I were tuned a half-step lower, I'd move the capo up one fret.
