  • damn! bravo!

  • I remember seeing my parents dancing in the living room with this playing on the 'sterio hi-fi' record player!

  • The headline is right - this is BEAUTIFUL!

  • you said, froggy!

  • django pour le plaisir d souvenirs

  • And suddenly, I am in a smoky cafe in Paris as the rain pours down outside.

  • @magmcq No more smoking cafes over here, smoking is banned for the most part.

I don't even smoke and think bans are silly.

  • Classic song done with classic style.

  • damn good!

  • Who's the sax player on this?

  • @mainecolbs This is Hubert Rostaing on clarinet, not sax.

  • @oldtimejazzfan Wow, istening to this on real speakers makes a huge difference. I swear on my laptop it sounded like a sax. My mistake :P

  • I wish that there could be video of Django himself playing this wonderful music. How can you not groove to this stuff?! Just now discovering another wonderful artist. Truly something else...

  • In the film Catch 22, when Yosarian is waltzing with his Italian girl a version of this song is playing with a django-like solo going on - you aren't initially sure of the theme until his solo finishes and the theme is stated by an extremely smooth clarinet (very much like that in a Django rendition of the Anniversay song). I wonder can anyone tell me what record is used in this section of Catch 22?

  • thanks god, thanks nature this amount of shining musicality is born again every now and then on this our world and the ones that passed are saved by technical means and imitated with caleidoscopian effects.

And its not velocity that makes a piece beautiful. It's the FEELING !

  • who can not love these sounds????

    je' tai'm this guitar sounds

  • I've always wondered what artists from this era would think if they knew that we, from the era which was supposed to have flying cars, still listened to their music.

I mean surely, they must have understood that most music dies with time, but they probably would never have expected to create immortal masterpieces like this one.

  • MAGICO, INCOMPARABLE ..EL GRAN DJANGO

  • Wonderful!!!!!

  • What do breasts and food in the suggestion column have to do with Django playing September Song?

  • @mnestrt you're luckyyou got breasts!!! My publicity lineup was about the Mayan Calendar...

  • Un immense génie de la guitare et une magnifique esthétique de la vidéo... Bravo!

  • Hubert Rostaing is the Clarinettist? Oui?

    Merci Beaucoup

  • I love roma people too, the way they steal everything and they beg with real class. I just love the way they sh*t all over the place too and leave others to clear it up. Having a load of gipsys in the neighboughhood really raises the standards of the place and has no effect on house prices. The whole world would be so much better if everyone was a roma

  • @jeremy1000100 Obvious troll is obvious.

Or you're simply an idiot :)

  • @kilashl God, I wish I could give them your address ...talk about an idiot :) !

  • @itsallrigid Go ahead, give em my adress, i'll be happy to give em food and shelter since you guys will just kick em out so you can go on living alone in your basements :) You know, generosity is not necessarily a flaw ;)

  • Adolphe Sax, Toots Thielemans, Django Reinhardt, Jimmy Rosenberg; proud to live where they origine.

  • WHAT SCALE SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME I GOTTA KNOW!!!!!! :'(

  • @toastytoast3919 this is jazz music mate, doesn't conform to a single scale, you gotta follow the chord changes

  • @toastytoast3919 - I think the key this version is played in is A Major, maybe A-flat Major - but don't quote me!

  • I love this music, i think its maybe the best and honest music ever made!! It takes great talent to play this music. Django must have been a very strongminded person to learn a whole new tecnique, after the fire in his caravan burnt two or three fingers of his left hand!! Anybody else would say i quit playing , but he didn't Respect, respect!!!

  • And to think that the French want these people out of their country...

  • somebody please make a tab for such a wonderful piece of music

  • Django, who can forget him.......

  • What a fantastic version of September Song!! Thanks a lot.

  • This is music for the heart.Thank you Cattia!

  • Que c'est bon ! agréable à retrouver....Merci pour ce bonheur.....

  • This version of September Song by Django was recorded in August or November 1947 (I prefer the August date). It was issued on Vogue CD 655611 with 20 seconds missing at the beginning.

The FULL version with the 20 seconds re-instated can be heard on Fremaux FA315.

  • A glorious jazzy version of September Song

  • Wonderful, there was none better than Django. He died too soon, which is so often the case with that rare breed of musician know as genius...

  • I love this song too. Many thanks for Django Reinhardt and your fine video.

  • I really love the Roma people.........

  • he is sinti not roma

  • @Arkadienfridtjof django wasnt a roma but sinti

  • @kampetjehaarlem1996

Tabs? Learn the melody from a vocalist record. Learn to play the melody single-notes only. Then look up the chords and the words on 'The Guitar Guy', site, and work out an arrangement. You won't need tabs then. Honest!
