I was in the second platoon on this funeral. I'm sure the guard meant no disrespect. It appears he was talking to his coworker. Unfortunately he's probably a little desensitized to the funerals as as many as 10 a day can take place at the Old Post Chapel (where this one was) prior to internment within Arlington National Cemetery.
I can't believe it, but if you look at the Security Guards at the Gate, you will notice that one appears to intentionally turn his back when the Colors came by, I hope I'm wrong
@bobsit1945 Do you really think that he would work at Arlington if he despises any part of the military??? Arlington is one of the highest honored cemeteries, they would not employ a person like that.
During my 20 year Coast Guard Career, I was honored to be able to serve in a military funeral unit as a bugler. There were very few moments that made me feel so honored and so sad at the same time. God bless the family and shipmates of this fallen comrade as the Lord takes him across the bar for the final time.

My father served for 13 years. He was in Desert Storm and has recieved the Coast Guard achievement medal and the Navy achievement medal, But he does not want a military funeral. :(
Thanks for posting this. My shipmates and I love the video. Its a huge honor to be able to do this for our shipmates. Our deepest sympathies to the family.

One More Day - Sinead O'Connor. I think it was produced for the funeral of Veronica Guerin.
