  • are you guys deaf? have you never heard a whale slap the water with his tail. It make a THUNDER. not a plunder or a flunder. A thunder.

  • @tastyhorses Well, you kin jus go FLunder yerself. An another thing, I don't think it's very nice a you to make fun of us deef guys neither.

SO THERE! FLUNDER FLUNDER FLUNDER FLUNDER FLUNDER FLUNDER FLUNDER FLUNDER Hah!

  • Rick, it's not a "flunder" it's a PLUNDER!

  • @Bobbalou23 Sorry, but you are incorrect on that one. You can google it if you don't believe me. In some earlier versions it was "flourish," but some song writer apparantly thought that was too effeminate (just my guess) and changed it to "flunder." Problem is, I can't find any reference to that word in ANY language, except in the lyrics to this here song! Poetic license, I guess. I was really joking with the question. "Plunder" doesn't honestly fit either.

    Great, great singing, eh?

  • @Bobbalou23 Try "blunder". I just love it that whale escaped.

  • Great version--"straight"--of this. There's a really fun one done by the LImeliters on their "Through Children's Eyes" album that is a hoot.

Never thought of Theodore Bikel as a folk singer....

  • I have just one question. What the heck is a "flunder" and how does a whale make one with his tail??

  • Wish these two would make a CD together today.

  • One of my Alltime favorites! I'm trying to re-learn guitar, nI really want to play this.

  • Always thought this is one of my favorite Collins performances. And Bikel does a great "evil" captain.

  • I've done this live for years!

  • This is simply wonderful. Never heard this version before. Thank you kindly for posting!

  • love this song!!!!!!!!!!! Has anyone posted a video of the fisherman song?

  • Always loved this version from the Folk Music Festival with Theo and Judy. Another great one is the "fisherman song" by Judy.

  • Oh the harmony...

  • Very nice, wonderful song recorded by Judy Collins and Theo Bikel at the Newport Folk Festival, maybe during July 1964, I'm not sure, but on the record she sings "blowin' in the wind" and presents "the wind" like a Dylan's song of the past year.

  • The sound is good. Great thanks !

  • This time I can hear to the song, what was before with the sound? Beaufiul vocal harmonies.
