@MrMannM1 For what? He complained about pass interference so I let him know it wasn't called because he was pushed. Then told him to know the rules if he is going to complain. What is childish about that?
That is why the ACC is hyping Ponder and not Harris for heisman isn't it. And by the way Ponder had nothing to do with the Miami loss it was all on WR's that didn't want to catch a damn ball. But then again you a UM fan all you know is a good felony when you see one!
Ponder is twice the QB Jacory Harris is, yes miami team won the head to head VERY FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON...great job...too bad that "tough" wisconsin team made miami look like dade city high school. great job guys, maybe if jacory worried more about his mechanics and reads instead of how fuckin gay he can get his haircut for the game...
Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Joe Theismann, Montana, Steve Young, Namath, Elway are just 7 white QB's off the top of my head who were definitely leaders of their teams. Trent Dilfer, Jim McMahon (Bears) are two white QBs who were definitely NOT leaders. Warren Moon, Randall Cunningham, Doug Williams, and Donovan McNabb are Black QBs who are underrated to be sure. IMO, the QB position (college and pro), is often overrated because it is the one skilled position not dominated by the black athlete.
It's "racist" to state certain truths relating to a major sporting event where the racial divide is still very much apparent from Pop Warner to the NFL; a sport which even after Doug William's spectacular Super Bowl performance, many white fans resist accepting the Black QB and regard the Head Coach hiring policies as affirmative action - this in a league DOMINATED by the Black Athlete, a sport where a racial slur remains a nickname for one if its proudest franchises. "Racist"? Yeah, right.
I dont give a shit what color my QB is. If he can get the job done i dont care if he is purple. If Christian Ponder was black anf BJ Daniels was white you'd prolly be talking about how great Christian is. My favorite College Football player is black. Charlie Ward. Your just here talking junk about white players. You are the racist one.
Many white fans criticize Black athletes such as Chad OchoCinco for self-promoting and not adhering to team concept. When teams such as the Colts or Pats are playing and their offensive units take the field, the white announcers usually say, "And here comes Tom Brady." It isn't , "Here come the Patriots". White announcers and fans alike are not pleased unless the white QB is seen as the leader of the entire team and the star of that team when often, they are not. I'm real, not racist.
I'm "just here talking junk about white players"? You must have missed - or like most overly-sensitive white fans, intentionally ignored - my comment in which I name 7 white QBs who IMO were undisputed leaders of their teams while naming only 2 white QBs who were definitely not leaders of their teams. Yes, the QB position is often overhyped because it is the 1 remaining skill position still dominated by the white athlete. Look what's happened to E. Manning without Plaxico Burress to bail him out
Did you ever stop to think that the QB posistion was dominated by the white QB because of certain color restrictions practiced by college institutions? It was only 40 some years ago that Southern colleges even allowed blacks to play, let a long the QB position.
Of course whites will have an advantage at certain positions that their fathers, fathers have played. But, in due time that will change... just like every other position has changed ... we're even seeing it with the head coaches.
white qb's are propped up 2 look like a leader. but in reality they arent. a blk qb would destroy most. the qb in the nfl is like an affirmative action position
I'm not sure why you keep talking abotu other quarterbacks. Daniels (who i went to high school with and is an incredible athlete) had all day to throw in most cases and Ponder was under pressure the entire game. Did you even watch the game or just look at the stats? dont talk about what you dont know about kid. Ponder had a decent game even though he was under pressure the entire game
Well, if Ponder is this incredibly smart and gifted "beast" of an athlete, he should have been able to defeat the pressure he was under. Vince Young would have done so. Ponder is just an average overhyped QB. Daniels completely outplayed Ponder. Period.
DANIELS COMPLETED 9 PASSES. S. Fla had 2 big plays and they were passes where is receivers got past a weak FSU secondary (Magnum). You can't say that Daniels outplayed Ponder when they played against different defenses. 2 interceptions to 0? Shut up kid. You probably think Tom Brady is a terrible QB because he is white.
White fans such as yourself HAVE TO BELIEVE that the white QB is always the leader while his "stable of athletes"...his "toys"...facilitate his mental superiority on the field. Two words for you fool: "Trent Dilfer". The Ravens could have won their Super Bowl WITHOUT HIM. Ray Lewis was the leader of that team, not Dilfer. This is the distillation of the management QB, not the ATHLETIC QB. The proof is in the pudding. BJ Daniels = 2 TD passes and 300+ of total offense. Ponder = 5 SACKS. U shut up
What about Peyton Manning? Eli Manning? Tom Brady? Tom Brady? just because your racist doesn't mean that there isn't a "white boy" that is a better athlete than any black person. Ray Lewis is a hall of fame defensive player! You pull all these players who will be in the hall of fame to prove your points. Tom Brady was still a super bowl quarterback before Randy Moss. Last years season proved that without Tom Brady, the team isn't the same. Stop with your stupid comment and terrible rebuttles.
"terrible rubuttles". Not nearly as terrible as you pulling white QB names out of your butt to continue making an ass of yourself in this exchange. NO, neither Manning brother is an athlete and T. Brady WOUL,D TELL YOU HIMSELF if he found you worthy of his time that he is no athlete. The last Super Bowl won by the Patriots did not see Brady as MVP. The MVP was one Deion Branch...a WR and an ATHLETE. It was clear to all watching that Branch did more than did Brady to win that game.
Speaking of "butts", John David Booty, another overhyped USC QB. The media worked overtime trying to make a silk purse out of that sow's ear. Today besides being the butt of "booty jokes", JD Booty languishes on the MN Vikings practice squad. R. Moss considered leaving N.E. and reuniting with Dante Culpepper when he reentered the league with the Lions. It was T. Brady who practically blew up Moss' cellie trying to convince him to stay with the Pats. Brady knows who the STAR of the team is.
You appear to be the type who isn't comfy unless his white QB is being referred to by a fawining media as "leader", "alpha wolf", "golden boy". Al Michaels was calling John Elway "Superman" during most of the the Super Bowl; Redskins v Broncos until Doug Williams cemented his RECORD-BREAKING ASS KICKING OF ELWAY enroute to becoming the first black QB to win a Super Bowl. Some media types have Tebow as Jesus. Meanwhile, black athletes are referred to as "weapons", "toys" and worse.
I go to FSU, Ponder benched 400 pounds this summer. He is fast, smart, and is the best player on FSU's offense. If you don't think so you have not watched any games this year. Look at his stats.
So Ponder is a musclebound, ponderous guy who does extraordinarily well in the classroom. He is NOT...NO WHERE NEAR the BEST player on FSU's offense. That's the "Rocky Balboa fantasy" if ever I saw it. See my earlier post. Ponder throws for his career best THIS YEAR against Miami and Jacory Harris BEATS his best by nearly 100 yds with fewer attempts and completions. Ponder is no faster than Nebraska's QB Eric Crouch was and he was an NFL WASHOUT. Ponder gets more credit than deserved.
Jacory really lived up to that heisman hype again VT. Ponder has 1 interception this year, his second year as a starter. He has more years because he threw like 3 passes for over 50 yards to a wide up Miami receiver. We are not arguing that our defense is good, just that Ponder a QB thats runs 4.5-4.6 40 and is 6'3 and has a great arm, is a beast.
I missed most of the game, catching only the Harris-led "U" TD drive and the drive featuring the 2 dropped passes by the "U" tight end. Otherwise, Harris did live up to ALL of his praise when he walked over calmly and encouraged the "U" TE who dropped 2 passes which were RIGHT IN HIS HANDS to snuff out what could have been the drive to get the "U" right back into the ballgame. BTW, FSU lost today. Ponder was sacked and fumbled and was outplayed by the S.FLA QB who idolized Charlie Ward.
Ponder is a QB who is lucky enough to be surounded by SUPERIOR ATHLETES. I don't care what Ponder runs in the 40, or how tall he is. Today, a Kentucky defender had a clean shot at Tebow and "t-boned" him. That UK defender was not concerned about Tebow's more athletic teammates at that time, Tebow was in his sights and Tebow paid the price. Ponder is an AVERAGE at best QB, no better than was Eric Crouch of Nebraska. He is OVERHYPED and the LEAST ATHLETIC of FSU's skill offensive players. Period.
Your 6'3" "beast" who "runs 4.5.6 40" and has " a great arm" didn't exercise any of those attributes well against USF, while Daniels appeared to look quite good against a still-developing FSU defense. Against USF's ATHLETES and NOT BYU's slower athletes, Ponder threw mostly short passes. Most of his passing yards came by way of "yac" as usual. Eric Crouch didn't make it in the pros. Overhyped Tim Couch didn't make it in the pros. I rather doubt that Tebow and Ponder will either.
DaNoles, YOU might want to check YOUR sources if you think Archie Manning is the ONLY 2x Heismann winner. Or maybe you meant to say Archie GRIFFIN of the OSU Buckeyes. Archie Manning is a QB. The Heismann has become a QB's award now. It's a joke.
If Chistian Ponder stays healthy look out UF, I also wouldn't be suprised if we are in the National Title race next season and Ponder may very well be in the Heisman race then as well. We have our complete O-line, a virtual stable of thoroughbred running backs, our defensive stars (Greg Reid, Jacobie McDaniel, Jamie and Patrick Robinson), and one of the best quarterbacks (when he is playing to his potential) in the nation ALL returning next year!!! FSU 2010, WE'RE BACK SON!
Christian Ponder played very well, but he is receiving far more credit than deserved. This so-called "stable of thoroughbred running backs" ARE THE ATHLETES which put fear into opponents and MAKE THE PLAYS THAT WIN THE GAMES. Ponder is the LEAST ATHLETIC of the Florida State athletes. The Heisman has long been a joke. How many Heisman winners go on to become great pro football players? 2x Heisman winner Jason White of OK anyone? Where is he now? Give credit to where it's due. It ain't all Ponder
What are you talking about??? Ponder is one of the most athletic QBs in the nation..now he's doesnt have blazing speed and amazing quicks but the guy can move and get the job done with his feet and his arm he is by far the best QB FSU has had in recent time...and Jason White only won the heisman once
White won in '03 and nearly won again in '04. White - like Matt Leinart, Tebow, Matt Barkley, and others - benefitted from the presence of a stud running back who did most of the heavy lifting, commanded the respect and fear of opposing defenses and were the TRUE reason for most of their team's victories. I said Ponder is the LEAST ATHLETIC of the FSU skill players on offense. Ponder is not more athletic than the Penn State, Ohio State, or Miami QBs. That's for certain.
Ponder is very smart, and has played tougher teams than Ohio State and Penn State. I believe Ponder will be a first round pick. He looks like he can use his legs when necessary too
Ponder didn't play those "tougher teams" by himself and that's the point. Ponder is no different from Tebow, Jason White, Matt Leinart. Tebow gets lots of credit for UF's wins but Harvin had as much if not more to do with getting those wins and will be the superior NFL pro. Jason White is history. Adrian Peterson is the best RB in the NFL. Leinart sits the bench while Reggie Bush contributes on the field every Sunday. Ponder received too much credit for the BYU win. He's media-hyped right now.
no, I don't think so. I know that Kiper and McShay like to do the hype thing, but I thought of that before they did, and my father has been watching football more than both of them. Kiper has a Madden and Fantasy Football-type mindset. My dad and I have had football in our lives for quite some time. Ponder WILL get drafted before Tebow. Ponder played against VT defense, UF defense, and several other ranked teams last year. Bush was drafted too high btw, and he took a pay cut going pro
Ponder might get drafted before Tebow but it's very possible they both could be busts. My original point was this: In my opinion, Ponder has received far too much credit for FSU's win over BYU. This sort of thing happens when the QB is Tebow, McCoy, Bradford, Snead (who was terrible last night), and etc... even Barkley received more credit than was due him for USC's win over OSU. J. Harris QB's an unbeaten Miami team, conquerors of 2 ranked teams and his Off. Coordinator gets most of the credit.
What credit has ponder gotten from the media? None! ESPNs coverage on the BYU game was very minimul because it was on Versus. I believe about a minute was spent on us.
Currently, ESPN is promoting the FSU/S. Florida game as FSU being "lead" by the "dynamic Christian Ponder". How did Ponder become so "dynamic" all of a sudden? Ponder had the benefit of being unaccounted for in BYU's defensive scheme. This is how he was able to pass for a rather paltry 195 yards (most probably YAC yards), and rush for his 77 yards. FSU's RB's accounted for 3 TDs, Pryor - 2, Ty Hall - 1. In addition, Hall rushed for 108 yards and Ponder gets the credit as if he did it all alone.
Christian Ponder has always been seen as dynamic, Ever since starting last year hes been seen as a dynamic QB. He passed for i believe 295 yards against Miami this season.
Christian Ponder wasn't seen as "dynamic" when he was throwing for 3 interceptions against Wake Forest last season. He was just another in FSU's recent run of also-ran QBs.
That 295 passing yards for Ponder was his career best. Jacory Harris topped Ponder's career best by nearly 100 yards in 7 less attempts than Ponder (Harris 21 - 34, 387 yards). Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all.
Ponder became so "dynamic" all of a sudden because he is a smart guy and a great athlete and he did what smart, great, athletes do, he grew into a mediocre program and elevated it. We are now seeing what his hard work is is doing for us. During FSU's "glory" days our quarterbacks weren't allowed to start until they were red shirt juniors at the least. Remember Charlie Ward? He pretty much sucked his first year, then guess what, he evolved the program and got us our first championship.
Ponder became "dynamic" because the media declared it so. According to some fans, this year's FSU team is supposedly bereft of "most" of its "great athletes". If Ponder couldn't win with last season's "great athletes", how does he become so "dynamic" and "elevate" a team with younger not-yet-so-great athleties? Ponder is getting the Jevan Snead treatment. Snead sucked last night and Ponder has sucked before. Ponder excelled in the BYU game because Mendenhall basically ignored him.
Nope. Not kidding. Deadly serious. This so-called "dynamic" QB had a major meltdown when he was faced by a more athletic Wake Forest defense last year. Proof is right here. Mendenhall said that BYU "could have prepared better" for Ponder. This tells you that he didn't think much of Ponder before the game was played. Mendenhall was concerned about FSU's ATHLETES, not Ponder. Had Ponder been a "VT-M. Vick-type", Mendenhall WOULD have prepared for him. Any defense could stop Ponder. It's been done.
Jacory Harris was a WINNER at Miami NWestern and has proven himself to be a winner at Miami. Last year, Harris had to split time with R. Marve who started all but 2 of Miami's games. Last year, Harris engineered 2 comeback wins and threw for l less TD than Ponder while throwing 6 fewer INT than did Ponder. For those who doubt his athleticism, Harris also CAUGHT a TD pass last season. If you want to break it down this way, Harris has already beaten Ponder "head-to-head". He'll do it again.
Do you even watch football? I'm an FSU but I even admit that Tebow is one of the greatest college football players to ever play the game. You can't say how good he will do in the pros, if you beleive everyt opinion you hear on sportscenter you need to stop talking. Oh and Matt Leinart is backup to Kurt Warnern, a hall of fame quarterback who led his team to the Super Bowl and nearly won. Shut your mouth.
Tebow is a COLLEGE PLAYER. That's it. Like Eric Crouch, like Jason White...Tebow is just a COLLEGE PLAYER who receives FAR TOO MUCH HYPE for what the TRUE ATHLETES ON HIS TEAM accomplish. Harvin was instrumental in the Vikes win yesterday. Tebow will NEVER see a NFL day like that as a pro because Tebow probably won't make the team. Leinart was given every chance to beat out Warner and couldn't do it! Why? Because without Bush, Leinart is NOTHING. Ponder is OVERHYPED. Live with it.
Bush has had many breakout games in the NFL where his unique talents have been on display. Meanwhile, Leinart continues to molder on the bench while the Arizona Cardinals continue to beg old man Kurt Warner not to retire. I'm sure you didn't miss V. Young vs M. Leinart part II. Young, now Titans QB once again defeated Leinart. Bush is getting NFL playing time and is an integral part of the Saints success. Leinart is a bench warmer. Get lost, peon.
I said Vince Young wasn't good? Did I say Matt Leinart was? No I didn't say either of those and Reggie Bush is integral to nothing, he is just an interchangeable piece in the saints offense
"interchangeable piece" You damned fool. That's simply another way of saying Bush is an uber-talented versatile athlete who is making his mark in the NFL. Did you not see him score a TD in today's NFC Championship game? Begone, idiot.
lol, you're delusional and why the hell are you putting words in my mouth I never said anything about Percy Harvin or about Tebow not needing him, Harvin is a very good player unlike Bush whose nothing special
FYI Kurt Warner is not yet a "hall of fame QB". Arizona did get hot and reach the Super Bowl in '08 largely on the strength of the talents of stud WR Larry Fitzgerald. Warner has played in 3 Super Bowls. An exceptional passer, he also benefitted from the presence of stud WR duo Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce and one of the greatest RB to ever play, the TRUE LEADER OF THE GREATEST SHOW ON TURF, Marshall Faulk. Warner's sole Super Bowl win came as the result of a TD-saving tackle on the Ram's 1yd line
Pretty sure a wide receiver does not throw his own passes. Your just a QB hater man. QB is usually the leader of the team because they have to do the most. Make most decisions, call plays, read defenses, etc. You can't compare somebody who was a primarily running QB to Ponder. He has a strong, accurate arm, he's fast, he makes minimal mistakes, and he is a good play caller. Just because you dont like their teams doesnt make them bad. Watch a football game sometime. Not just stats and SC.
I'm absolutely certain that when a pass play goes for over 50 yds, the QB throws a pass of 5 yds and the WR makes the play of 45 yds then the QB is getting TOO MUCH CREDIT FOR THE PLAY. The QB is often the LEAST ATHLETIC skilled player on offense. The WR and RB are the PLAYMAKERS. The QB is little more than a manager unless that QB is a TRUE ATHLETIC THREAT i.e. Vick, McNabb, Pryor, Young, et al. Ponder was sacked 5 times last week by S. FLA, a team with a MORE ATHLETIC DEFENSE than was BYUs.
A defense faster than BYU's. A quarterback does not have to be black in order to be athletic. Vick is probably my favorite player, and he is a freak athlete. But in your message you basically agree that Ponder makes decisioins that lead to big plays. He's not overrated and I'm done arguing to you. You are probably black and beleive that there is no such thing as a white athlete. Ponder starts over EJ Manuel a former #1 high school qb in nation, because he is not as athletic? I think not.
That's right: "a defense FASTER than BYU's". Irrefutable fact. Vick isn't a "freak athlete". Vick is an athlete. Ponder participates in an athletic endeavor. There's a difference. Ponder, like Tebow, is OVERRATED FOR WHAT HE DOES ON THE FIELD. I haven't agreed with you on anything, but have successfully shot down every weak point you've tried to make in support of your overrated athlete. "I'm probably black", you say. I believe it is your whiteboy insecurity that is showing. Nothing else.
I would suspect that 2x Ex-Oklahoma QB Jason White's passing stats would be superior to both Tebow's and J. Harris' as well. And like C. Ponder, Jason White was vastly overrated. Ponder, like J. White, benefitted from the presence of thoroughbred athletes. BYU's coach said it yourself imbecile. Concerned about FSU's TRUE ATHLETES, he neglected to game plan for Ponder. Any mosquito will bite if the victim doesn't plan to repel it. Ponder was BYU's mosquito.
Without Percy Harvin, plays did not come as easily for Tebow. Any QB who plays for a Florida football team is going to benefit from the presence of stellar athletic talent, as did Ponder.
Ponder is nowhere in the same field as pryor, clark, and griffen(baylor) far as scrambling ability but he throws better than those guys, while on the run...and you have to give ponder a ton of credit for what he is doing with this offense...he basically lost every skill player from last season (top 3 WRs and Starting running back) and he has not lost a step..if anything he has made this offense better
And as he proved in their matchup, Jacory Harris runs and throws as good if not better than does Christian Ponder. While Ponder, and Matt Barkley are media-hyped, Jacory Harris has to take a back seat to his receivers and Offensive Coordinator. Only recently have media types reluctantly started to give J. Harris his props. Football is a TEAM game and yet certain QBs get the lion's share of the credit for the wins while their "stable" of RB's and WR's are often overlooked.
WHAT???? Jacory Harris is the miami offense!!!!! look what happened last year when miami flip floped qbs they looked terrible at times...IF J. Harris goes down then miami's season done....And about Ponder....if anything, Ponder is underrated...its hard to be seen when you dont score 50 points a game like all the big 12 qbs..and if you look back at the stats ponder as outrused Harris in each of their matchups...Harris is not a scrambler he is a pocket passer..he relies heavily on his arm
Harris barely ever runs. Compared to Ponder. Harris averages -1 rushing yards while ponder averages about 5 yards. Harris if you didnt notice has a amazing O line giving him all day to just wait for his recievers to get open. He doesnt have the mobility of Ponder. Hes a great athlete but i wouldnt say as athletic as Ponder. Hes shown to be a great pass game guy but running is not his thing.
Harris absolutely has the ability to run when necessary. There are clips of him doing just that last season. And this so-called "amazing O-Line" is a recent phenomenon. Harris simply values the pass over the run as it is likely presumed that he would naturally be a "running QB", ala Vick, McNabb, et al. Harris is able to pass and pass very well. Ponder is PONDEROUS. He is heavy footed. Ponder benefits from the fact that because he surrounded by great athletes he is often the least accounted for.
You must have just started watching sports or you're just ignorant. Ponder is known for his quick release. That how he did most of the Miami games quick releases. The offense on FSU is extremely good but the defense isnt. Great athletes? We lost most our great athletes last year 6'6 greg carr WR left last year. Preston Parker WR also left last year along with the starting running back and Corey Surrency another WR. All were starters.
It's "ignorant" to say that simply because FSU "lost" their "great athletes" that there wouldn't be more waiting in the wings. Christian Ponder benefits from being surrounded by superior athletes. There is NO getting around that fact. Mendenhall says Ponder was the reason FSU defeated BYU. Why? BYU didn't prepare for Ponder. Why? Because BYU was concerned about FSU's ATHLETES. They weren't especially worried about the so-called "mobile" Ponder who is the LEAST athletic of FSU's skilled players.
And a highly skilled athlete is nothing without either a good head on their shoulders, or a smart leader in the huddle. Ponder is definitely not the least skilled player on our team, you're crazy. But he is usualy the smartest FOOTBALL minded player on the field and it shows. He rallies all of our skill players and puts them to use where they can be the most devastating. You'll see. The kid got his BA in 2 1/2 years, how about you?
Ponder is in ex-Bears QB Jim McMahon syndrome. McMahon was credited with more than he was responsible for. McMahon benefitted from a dominant defense and having arguably the greatest RB in the game (Walter Payton), to hand off to. Ponder is the least athletic of FSU's offensive SKILLED players. There can't be any argument there. Is he the "smartest"? That's debatable. Ponder is fortunate enough to be a "game manager" of a so-called "stable" of great athletes. He was the Joker in the deck.
You really need to do your home work! Ponder is very athletic, as a soph. he ran for 125 yards against Miami in Miami. That was the first half alone. 144 for the game. When has Prior faced a defense as fast as UM's. He could have used his feet more the last game, but I guess he was trying to show he could stand in the pocket and pass. But look at his touchdown run against UM and watch is vision and the cut backs through the lane. Harris is overrated as far as skill set.
Ponder is the LEAST ATHLETIC FSU offensive skill player who like T. Tebow, will benefit from the opposing defenses' keys on the athletes surrounding them who are more likely to hurt them. Pryor's athleticism dwarfs Ponders. There's no argument to be made there. J. Harris "overrated"? He has been a WINNER through his High School career and brings that winner's attitude to Miami. Clearly his teammates feed off him. Marve's departure to Purdue was a blessing.
Are you saying that Tebow is the least athletic player on Florida's team? Who does Tebow have on his offense right now? and they are still putting up 40 poitns a game (except vs #2 defense of Tenn).
I'm saying that Tebow is the least athletic of the skilled offensive players on his team. Unless the QB is named Vince Young, Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb, Terrelle Pryor, or Daryll Clark, the QB is likely not going to be more athletic than his WR or RB. All one need do is watch Ponder play in a game and compare/contrast what he does as opposed to what his RB/WR do in a game. The proof of what I've posted will become crystal clear.
"EXCEPT VS #2 DEFENSE OF TENN), Thank you for making that point! The strategy of Tenn for that game was to keep the ball in Tebow's hands. "Why would anyone want to do that?" you might ask. Because Tebow is the slowest, LEAST ATHLETIC of UF's skilled offensive players. If Tebow was able to get the ball to one of the UF ATHLETES, it would have meant quick scores for UF. On the other hand, if the slow, plodding Tebow has the ball, the slower the scores and the greater the chance for turnovers.
As you know, the "U" has had its problems in recent years on BOTH sides of the football. Ponder's efforts were accomplished against an atypical U defense. When Ponder played a team with a superior defense, Wake Forest's I believe, he was intercepted 2 or 3 times. J. Harris' soph year so far...2 victories over 2 ranked teams. I don't believe Ponder has that particular feather in his cap. And while the media credits Ponder for FSU's success, they have only recently done the same for J. Harris.
We will destroy Wake Forest this year. Too many years of playing like shit against them. Grobe is a great coach, but coaching can only get you so far. We have way too much talent for them this year, and they are overdue for an ass-kicking by us. Ponder has gotten better each and every game. And JSU is very underrated btw, I mean they do have Perriloux, who came from LSU(a team from the darling SEC)
R. Bush is still having a more active NFL pro career than is M. Leinart. The QB's of these high-powered college teams are revealed as not so much "stars" but overhyped game managers when they get to the pros. Oftentimes, the RB from the "stable of RBs" or the WR from the "choice of weapons" have more of an impact in the NFL than does the QB who usually garnered all of the credit and pub for the team's wins. "Christian Ponder and FSU" doesn't really embody the "team concept" does it?
I'm not talking about Ponder's college performance. I'm TELLING YOU that Ponder is OVERRATED. Ponder received far TOO MUCH CREDIT for FSU's win over BYU and last weekend against a more athletic S. FLA defense, the 5 SACKS of Ponder enabled S FLA to make FSU their FIRST major Florida University victim. Your insecurities are showing by the way. The QB's who I've mentioned have ALL benefitted from the presence of a MORE ATHLETIC RB or WR. Alone, those overhyped QBs are NOTHING.
First year as starter*. And you give Miami so much credit for beating ranked teams when FSU lost by a dropped pass int he endzone. I beleive they have only played 1 ranked team and they beat them... killed them.
The FSU failed to lift a pass that was essentially thrown at his feet. How much is Ponder paying you to make excuses for his average play? Whatever it is, it isn't enough.
You're another overly-sensitive stupid ass who is no doubt licking his chops waiting for the inaugural game of the all-white professional basketball league.
Daniels only completed like 9 passes and Ponder makes smart decisions that lead to yards after catch. Why are you bringing Tebow into this? You have no idea what you are talking about, look at some stats. You talk about all these other players. Fact is, if Ponder was on a top 5 team, he would be in heisman contention.
BJ Daniels - starting in place of S.FLA injured starter - was 8-21 for 215yds; 2TD/2 INT and sacked twice. C. Ponder - who has had the benefit of starting every game this year for FSU and was given entirely TOO MUCH CREDIT for FSU's win over BYU - was 25 - 37 for 269 yards. 0 INT and 0 TD. The "athletic" and "mobile" Ponder was sacked 5 times. BJ Daniels accounted for 341 yards of S.FLA's offense. Daniels completely outplayed Ponder in that game.
"If Ponder was on a top 5 team" he would almost certainly still be the LEAST ATHLETIC offensive player on the team as he is on the FSU team and would still be getting far too much credit for his play ala Tim Tebow, Eric Crouch, Jason White; et al. Vince Young deserved his accolades because opposing teams actually prepared for Young's superior athleticism as well for his ability to hit the receiver downfield. As the BYU game illustrated, opposing teams don't always account for Ponder.
lets face it FSU was one play away from being in the top ten. If Miami is #9 no doubt in my mind FSU would of been #5 at the least had Ponder saw the open receiver in the end zone
The number of missed assignments on defense seems to be improving. BYU just had a lot of great passes/catches in this game. 500 yds allowed is bad, but 1 turnover per 100 yds allowed isn't, especially when you factor in the defensive TD (2nd half).
IMO, the lack of QB pressure is more of an issue than coverage. If FSU gets any pressure, the defense improves dramatically.
The defense hasn't turned the corner just yet, but if they do...
FSU simply GASHED BYU on the ground. The slower, less athletic Cougars could find no answer for the FSU athlete and the game he brings to the field. Take teams such as FSU and Miami and have those teams play as disciplined as they are athletic and no one in the country short of the USC Trojans. the Gators and a few others could present a serious challenge to those two programs.
outstanding performance from this developing team.... thank you for posting this as i've been looking for highlight reels and this is the first true one i found
Had FSU had their '09 offense and their '10 defense, they could've went 11-1 or 12-0 that year

IMO, the QB position (college and pro), is often overrated because it is the one skilled position not dominated by the black athlete.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Good Lord you are racist as shit
brad71forfsu 2 years ago
It's "racist" to state certain truths relating to a major sporting event where the racial divide is still very much apparent from Pop Warner to the NFL; a sport which even after Doug William's spectacular Super Bowl performance, many white fans resist accepting the Black QB and regard the Head Coach hiring policies as affirmative action - this in a league DOMINATED by the Black Athlete, a sport where a racial slur remains a nickname for one if its proudest franchises. "Racist"? Yeah, right.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
I dont give a shit what color my QB is. If he can get the job done i dont care if he is purple. If Christian Ponder was black anf BJ Daniels was white you'd prolly be talking about how great Christian is. My favorite College Football player is black. Charlie Ward. Your just here talking junk about white players. You are the racist one.
brad71forfsu 2 years ago
Many white fans criticize Black athletes such as Chad OchoCinco for self-promoting and not adhering to team concept. When teams such as the Colts or Pats are playing and their offensive units take the field, the white announcers usually say, "And here comes Tom Brady." It isn't , "Here come the Patriots". White announcers and fans alike are not pleased unless the white QB is seen as the leader of the entire team and the star of that team when often, they are not. I'm real, not racist.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
I'm "just here talking junk about white players"? You must have missed - or like most overly-sensitive white fans, intentionally ignored - my comment in which I name 7 white QBs who IMO were undisputed leaders of their teams while naming only 2 white QBs who were definitely not leaders of their teams. Yes, the QB position is often overhyped because it is the 1 remaining skill position still dominated by the white athlete. Look what's happened to E. Manning without Plaxico Burress to bail him out
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Did you ever stop to think that the QB posistion was dominated by the white QB because of certain color restrictions practiced by college institutions? It was only 40 some years ago that Southern colleges even allowed blacks to play, let a long the QB position.
Of course whites will have an advantage at certain positions that their fathers, fathers have played. But, in due time that will change... just like every other position has changed ... we're even seeing it with the head coaches.
LSUcHamp606 2 years ago
white qb's are propped up 2 look like a leader. but in reality they arent. a blk qb would destroy most. the qb in the nfl is like an affirmative action position
mooalim 2 years ago
I'm not sure why you keep talking abotu other quarterbacks. Daniels (who i went to high school with and is an incredible athlete) had all day to throw in most cases and Ponder was under pressure the entire game. Did you even watch the game or just look at the stats? dont talk about what you dont know about kid. Ponder had a decent game even though he was under pressure the entire game
AMorrell14 2 years ago
Well, if Ponder is this incredibly smart and gifted "beast" of an athlete, he should have been able to defeat the pressure he was under. Vince Young would have done so. Ponder is just an average overhyped QB. Daniels completely outplayed Ponder. Period.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
DANIELS COMPLETED 9 PASSES. S. Fla had 2 big plays and they were passes where is receivers got past a weak FSU secondary (Magnum). You can't say that Daniels outplayed Ponder when they played against different defenses. 2 interceptions to 0? Shut up kid. You probably think Tom Brady is a terrible QB because he is white.
AMorrell14 2 years ago
White fans such as yourself HAVE TO BELIEVE that the white QB is always the leader while his "stable of athletes"...his "toys"...facilitate his mental superiority on the field. Two words for you fool: "Trent Dilfer". The Ravens could have won their Super Bowl WITHOUT HIM. Ray Lewis was the leader of that team, not Dilfer. This is the distillation of the management QB, not the ATHLETIC QB. The proof is in the pudding. BJ Daniels = 2 TD passes and 300+ of total offense. Ponder = 5 SACKS. U shut up
outrundaylite 2 years ago
What about Peyton Manning? Eli Manning? Tom Brady? Tom Brady? just because your racist doesn't mean that there isn't a "white boy" that is a better athlete than any black person. Ray Lewis is a hall of fame defensive player! You pull all these players who will be in the hall of fame to prove your points. Tom Brady was still a super bowl quarterback before Randy Moss. Last years season proved that without Tom Brady, the team isn't the same. Stop with your stupid comment and terrible rebuttles.
AMorrell14 2 years ago
"terrible rubuttles". Not nearly as terrible as you pulling white QB names out of your butt to continue making an ass of yourself in this exchange. NO, neither Manning brother is an athlete and T. Brady WOUL,D TELL YOU HIMSELF if he found you worthy of his time that he is no athlete. The last Super Bowl won by the Patriots did not see Brady as MVP. The MVP was one Deion Branch...a WR and an ATHLETE. It was clear to all watching that Branch did more than did Brady to win that game.
outrundaylite 2 years ago

AMorrell14 2 years ago
So Ponder is a musclebound, ponderous guy who does extraordinarily well in the classroom. He is NOT...NO WHERE NEAR the BEST player on FSU's offense. That's the "Rocky Balboa fantasy" if ever I saw it. See my earlier post. Ponder throws for his career best THIS YEAR against Miami and Jacory Harris BEATS his best by nearly 100 yds with fewer attempts and completions. Ponder is no faster than Nebraska's QB Eric Crouch was and he was an NFL WASHOUT. Ponder gets more credit than deserved.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Jacory really lived up to that heisman hype again VT. Ponder has 1 interception this year, his second year as a starter. He has more years because he threw like 3 passes for over 50 yards to a wide up Miami receiver. We are not arguing that our defense is good, just that Ponder a QB thats runs 4.5-4.6 40 and is 6'3 and has a great arm, is a beast.
AMorrell14 2 years ago
I missed most of the game, catching only the Harris-led "U" TD drive and the drive featuring the 2 dropped passes by the "U" tight end. Otherwise, Harris did live up to ALL of his praise when he walked over calmly and encouraged the "U" TE who dropped 2 passes which were RIGHT IN HIS HANDS to snuff out what could have been the drive to get the "U" right back into the ballgame. BTW, FSU lost today. Ponder was sacked and fumbled and was outplayed by the S.FLA QB who idolized Charlie Ward.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Period.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Your 6'3" "beast" who "runs 4.5.6 40" and has " a great arm" didn't exercise any of those attributes well against USF, while Daniels appeared to look quite good against a still-developing FSU defense. Against USF's ATHLETES and NOT BYU's slower athletes, Ponder threw mostly short passes. Most of his passing yards came by way of "yac" as usual. Eric Crouch didn't make it in the pros. Overhyped Tim Couch didn't make it in the pros. I rather doubt that Tebow and Ponder will either.

FSU 2010, WE'RE BACK SON!
infidelas 2 years ago
Christian Ponder played very well, but he is receiving far more credit than deserved. This so-called "stable of thoroughbred running backs" ARE THE ATHLETES which put fear into opponents and MAKE THE PLAYS THAT WIN THE GAMES. Ponder is the LEAST ATHLETIC of the Florida State athletes. The Heisman has long been a joke. How many Heisman winners go on to become great pro football players? 2x Heisman winner Jason White of OK anyone? Where is he now? Give credit to where it's due. It ain't all Ponder
outrundaylite 2 years ago
What are you talking about??? Ponder is one of the most athletic QBs in the nation..now he's doesnt have blazing speed and amazing quicks but the guy can move and get the job done with his feet and his arm he is by far the best QB FSU has had in recent time...and Jason White only won the heisman once
bmyles1006 2 years ago
White won in '03 and nearly won again in '04. White - like Matt Leinart, Tebow, Matt Barkley, and others - benefitted from the presence of a stud running back who did most of the heavy lifting, commanded the respect and fear of opposing defenses and were the TRUE reason for most of their team's victories. I said Ponder is the LEAST ATHLETIC of the FSU skill players on offense. Ponder is not more athletic than the Penn State, Ohio State, or Miami QBs. That's for certain.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Ponder is very smart, and has played tougher teams than Ohio State and Penn State. I believe Ponder will be a first round pick. He looks like he can use his legs when necessary too
Jagnole101 2 years ago
Ponder didn't play those "tougher teams" by himself and that's the point. Ponder is no different from Tebow, Jason White, Matt Leinart. Tebow gets lots of credit for UF's wins but Harvin had as much if not more to do with getting those wins and will be the superior NFL pro. Jason White is history. Adrian Peterson is the best RB in the NFL. Leinart sits the bench while Reggie Bush contributes on the field every Sunday. Ponder received too much credit for the BYU win. He's media-hyped right now.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
no, I don't think so.
Jagnole101 2 years ago
Ponder might get drafted before Tebow but it's very possible they both could be busts. My original point was this: In my opinion, Ponder has received far too much credit for FSU's win over BYU. This sort of thing happens when the QB is Tebow, McCoy, Bradford, Snead (who was terrible last night), and etc... even Barkley received more credit than was due him for USC's win over OSU. J. Harris QB's an unbeaten Miami team, conquerors of 2 ranked teams and his Off. Coordinator gets most of the credit.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
What credit has ponder gotten from the media? None! ESPNs coverage on the BYU game was very minimul because it was on Versus. I believe about a minute was spent on us.
kewlboy567 2 years ago
Currently, ESPN is promoting the FSU/S. Florida game as FSU being "lead" by the "dynamic Christian Ponder". How did Ponder become so "dynamic" all of a sudden? Ponder had the benefit of being unaccounted for in BYU's defensive scheme. This is how he was able to pass for a rather paltry 195 yards (most probably YAC yards), and rush for his 77 yards. FSU's RB's accounted for 3 TDs, Pryor - 2, Ty Hall - 1. In addition, Hall rushed for 108 yards and Ponder gets the credit as if he did it all alone.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Christian Ponder has always been seen as dynamic, Ever since starting last year hes been seen as a dynamic QB. He passed for i believe 295 yards against Miami this season.
kewlboy567 2 years ago
Christian Ponder wasn't seen as "dynamic" when he was throwing for 3 interceptions against Wake Forest last season. He was just another in FSU's recent run of also-ran QBs.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
That 295 passing yards for Ponder was his career best. Jacory Harris topped Ponder's career best by nearly 100 yards in 7 less attempts than Ponder (Harris 21 - 34, 387 yards). Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Ponder became so "dynamic" all of a sudden because he is a smart guy and a great athlete and he did what smart, great, athletes do, he grew into a mediocre program and elevated it. We are now seeing what his hard work is is doing for us. During FSU's "glory" days our quarterbacks weren't allowed to start until they were red shirt juniors at the least. Remember Charlie Ward? He pretty much sucked his first year, then guess what, he evolved the program and got us our first championship.
infidelas 2 years ago
Ponder became "dynamic" because the media declared it so. According to some fans, this year's FSU team is supposedly bereft of "most" of its "great athletes". If Ponder couldn't win with last season's "great athletes", how does he become so "dynamic" and "elevate" a team with younger not-yet-so-great athleties? Ponder is getting the Jevan Snead treatment. Snead sucked last night and Ponder has sucked before. Ponder excelled in the BYU game because Mendenhall basically ignored him.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Because last year was his first year as a starter? are you kidding me kid?
AMorrell14 2 years ago
It's been done.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Jacory Harris was a WINNER at Miami NWestern and has proven himself to be a winner at Miami. Last year, Harris had to split time with R. Marve who started all but 2 of Miami's games. Last year, Harris engineered 2 comeback wins and threw for l less TD than Ponder while throwing 6 fewer INT than did Ponder. For those who doubt his athleticism, Harris also CAUGHT a TD pass last season. If you want to break it down this way, Harris has already beaten Ponder "head-to-head". He'll do it again.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Do you even watch football? I'm an FSU but I even admit that Tebow is one of the greatest college football players to ever play the game. You can't say how good he will do in the pros, if you beleive everyt opinion you hear on sportscenter you need to stop talking. Oh and Matt Leinart is backup to Kurt Warnern, a hall of fame quarterback who led his team to the Super Bowl and nearly won. Shut your mouth.
AMorrell14 2 years ago
Live with it.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Bush sucks in the NFL....Lendale white whose much slower and not nearly the athlete he is meanwhile is a very good player
tjmcdoug 2 years ago
Bush has had many breakout games in the NFL where his unique talents have been on display. Meanwhile, Leinart continues to molder on the bench while the Arizona Cardinals continue to beg old man Kurt Warner not to retire. I'm sure you didn't miss V. Young vs M. Leinart part II. Young, now Titans QB once again defeated Leinart. Bush is getting NFL playing time and is an integral part of the Saints success. Leinart is a bench warmer. Get lost, peon.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
I said Vince Young wasn't good? Did I say Matt Leinart was? No I didn't say either of those and Reggie Bush is integral to nothing, he is just an interchangeable piece in the saints offense
tjmcdoug 2 years ago
"interchangeable piece" You damned fool. That's simply another way of saying Bush is an uber-talented versatile athlete who is making his mark in the NFL. Did you not see him score a TD in today's NFC Championship game? Begone, idiot.

lol, you're delusional and why the hell are you putting words in my mouth I never said anything about Percy Harvin or about Tebow not needing him, Harvin is a very good player unlike Bush whose nothing special
tjmcdoug 2 years ago
FYI Kurt Warner is not yet a "hall of fame QB". Arizona did get hot and reach the Super Bowl in '08 largely on the strength of the talents of stud WR Larry Fitzgerald. Warner has played in 3 Super Bowls. An exceptional passer, he also benefitted from the presence of stud WR duo Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce and one of the greatest RB to ever play, the TRUE LEADER OF THE GREATEST SHOW ON TURF, Marshall Faulk. Warner's sole Super Bowl win came as the result of a TD-saving tackle on the Ram's 1yd line
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Pretty sure a wide receiver does not throw his own passes. Your just a QB hater man. QB is usually the leader of the team because they have to do the most. Make most decisions, call plays, read defenses, etc. You can't compare somebody who was a primarily running QB to Ponder. He has a strong, accurate arm, he's fast, he makes minimal mistakes, and he is a good play caller. Just because you dont like their teams doesnt make them bad. Watch a football game sometime. Not just stats and SC.
AMorrell14 2 years ago
I'm absolutely certain that when a pass play goes for over 50 yds, the QB throws a pass of 5 yds and the WR makes the play of 45 yds then the QB is getting TOO MUCH CREDIT FOR THE PLAY. The QB is often the LEAST ATHLETIC skilled player on offense. The WR and RB are the PLAYMAKERS. The QB is little more than a manager unless that QB is a TRUE ATHLETIC THREAT i.e. Vick, McNabb, Pryor, Young, et al. Ponder was sacked 5 times last week by S. FLA, a team with a MORE ATHLETIC DEFENSE than was BYUs.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
A defense faster than BYU's. A quarterback does not have to be black in order to be athletic. Vick is probably my favorite player, and he is a freak athlete. But in your message you basically agree that Ponder makes decisioins that lead to big plays. He's not overrated and I'm done arguing to you. You are probably black and beleive that there is no such thing as a white athlete. Ponder starts over EJ Manuel a former #1 high school qb in nation, because he is not as athletic? I think not.
AMorrell14 2 years ago
That's right: "a defense FASTER than BYU's". Irrefutable fact. Vick isn't a "freak athlete". Vick is an athlete. Ponder participates in an athletic endeavor. There's a difference. Ponder, like Tebow, is OVERRATED FOR WHAT HE DOES ON THE FIELD. I haven't agreed with you on anything, but have successfully shot down every weak point you've tried to make in support of your overrated athlete. "I'm probably black", you say. I believe it is your whiteboy insecurity that is showing. Nothing else.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
How the hell is Ponder overrated? He was better than Tebow and Jacory Harris in every passing state before he got hurt
tjmcdoug 2 years ago
I would suspect that 2x Ex-Oklahoma QB Jason White's passing stats would be superior to both Tebow's and J. Harris' as well. And like C. Ponder, Jason White was vastly overrated. Ponder, like J. White, benefitted from the presence of thoroughbred athletes. BYU's coach said it yourself imbecile. Concerned about FSU's TRUE ATHLETES, he neglected to game plan for Ponder. Any mosquito will bite if the victim doesn't plan to repel it. Ponder was BYU's mosquito.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Harris and Tebow don't have Athletes?
tjmcdoug 2 years ago
Without Percy Harvin, plays did not come as easily for Tebow. Any QB who plays for a Florida football team is going to benefit from the presence of stellar athletic talent, as did Ponder.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Peyton Manning is far better than any of the QBs you named will ever be, Warren Moon as well and Dan Marino and none of those guys were runners
tjmcdoug 2 years ago
Ponder is nowhere in the same field as pryor, clark, and griffen(baylor) far as scrambling ability but he throws better than those guys, while on the run...and you have to give ponder a ton of credit for what he is doing with this offense...he basically lost every skill player from last season (top 3 WRs and Starting running back) and he has not lost a step..if anything he has made this offense better
bmyles1006 2 years ago
And as he proved in their matchup, Jacory Harris runs and throws as good if not better than does Christian Ponder. While Ponder, and Matt Barkley are media-hyped, Jacory Harris has to take a back seat to his receivers and Offensive Coordinator. Only recently have media types reluctantly started to give J. Harris his props. Football is a TEAM game and yet certain QBs get the lion's share of the credit for the wins while their "stable" of RB's and WR's are often overlooked.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
WHAT???? Jacory Harris is the miami offense!!!!! look what happened last year when miami flip floped qbs they looked terrible at times...IF J. Harris goes down then miami's season done....And about Ponder....if anything, Ponder is underrated...its hard to be seen when you dont score 50 points a game like all the big 12 qbs..and if you look back at the stats ponder as outrused Harris in each of their matchups...Harris is not a scrambler he is a pocket passer..he relies heavily on his arm
bmyles1006 2 years ago
Harris barely ever runs. Compared to Ponder. Harris averages -1 rushing yards while ponder averages about 5 yards. Harris if you didnt notice has a amazing O line giving him all day to just wait for his recievers to get open. He doesnt have the mobility of Ponder. Hes a great athlete but i wouldnt say as athletic as Ponder. Hes shown to be a great pass game guy but running is not his thing.
kewlboy567 2 years ago
Harris absolutely has the ability to run when necessary. There are clips of him doing just that last season. And this so-called "amazing O-Line" is a recent phenomenon. Harris simply values the pass over the run as it is likely presumed that he would naturally be a "running QB", ala Vick, McNabb, et al. Harris is able to pass and pass very well. Ponder is PONDEROUS. He is heavy footed. Ponder benefits from the fact that because he surrounded by great athletes he is often the least accounted for.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
You must have just started watching sports or you're just ignorant. Ponder is known for his quick release. That how he did most of the Miami games quick releases. The offense on FSU is extremely good but the defense isnt. Great athletes? We lost most our great athletes last year 6'6 greg carr WR left last year. Preston Parker WR also left last year along with the starting running back and Corey Surrency another WR. All were starters.
kewlboy567 2 years ago
It's "ignorant" to say that simply because FSU "lost" their "great athletes" that there wouldn't be more waiting in the wings. Christian Ponder benefits from being surrounded by superior athletes. There is NO getting around that fact. Mendenhall says Ponder was the reason FSU defeated BYU. Why? BYU didn't prepare for Ponder. Why? Because BYU was concerned about FSU's ATHLETES. They weren't especially worried about the so-called "mobile" Ponder who is the LEAST athletic of FSU's skilled players.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
And a highly skilled athlete is nothing without either a good head on their shoulders, or a smart leader in the huddle. Ponder is definitely not the least skilled player on our team, you're crazy. But he is usualy the smartest FOOTBALL minded player on the field and it shows. He rallies all of our skill players and puts them to use where they can be the most devastating. You'll see. The kid got his BA in 2 1/2 years, how about you?
infidelas 2 years ago
Ponder is in ex-Bears QB Jim McMahon syndrome. McMahon was credited with more than he was responsible for. McMahon benefitted from a dominant defense and having arguably the greatest RB in the game (Walter Payton), to hand off to. Ponder is the least athletic of FSU's offensive SKILLED players. There can't be any argument there. Is he the "smartest"? That's debatable. Ponder is fortunate enough to be a "game manager" of a so-called "stable" of great athletes. He was the Joker in the deck.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
100% clueless. Congrats.
jhblankstare 2 years ago
You really need to do your home work! Ponder is very athletic, as a soph. he ran for 125 yards against Miami in Miami. That was the first half alone. 144 for the game. When has Prior faced a defense as fast as UM's. He could have used his feet more the last game, but I guess he was trying to show he could stand in the pocket and pass. But look at his touchdown run against UM and watch is vision and the cut backs through the lane. Harris is overrated as far as skill set.
FanViewSports 2 years ago
Ponder is the LEAST ATHLETIC FSU offensive skill player who like T. Tebow, will benefit from the opposing defenses' keys on the athletes surrounding them who are more likely to hurt them. Pryor's athleticism dwarfs Ponders. There's no argument to be made there. J. Harris "overrated"? He has been a WINNER through his High School career and brings that winner's attitude to Miami. Clearly his teammates feed off him. Marve's departure to Purdue was a blessing.
outrundaylite 2 years ago
Are you saying that Tebow is the least athletic player on Florida's team? Who does Tebow have on his offense right now? and they are still putting up 40 poitns a game (except vs #2 defense of Tenn).
AMorrell14 2 years ago
I'm saying that Tebow is the least athletic of the skilled offensive players on his team. Unless the QB is named Vince Young, Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb, Terrelle Pryor, or Daryll Clark, the QB is likely not going to be more athletic than his WR or RB. All one need do is watch Ponder play in a game and compare/contrast what he does as opposed to what his RB/WR do in a game. The proof of what I've posted will become crystal clear.
outrundaylite 2 years ago

We are not talking about Ponders NFL career. We are talking about his college performance, get off reggie bushes meat and pay attention.

AMorrell14 2 years ago

Thanks for uploading this. A great win but I hope we don't let it go up to our heads next week.

lets face it FSU was one play away from being in the top ten. If Miami is #9 no doubt in my mind FSU would of been #5 at the least had Ponder saw the open receiver in the end zone
