I wish they were inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame... They deserve it. So many years of passion and they are still going...I think the fans of DR.Hook are the chosen few..everybody else just doesnt get it,and cant feel it. ROCK ON...
I love this clip, Dennis looks surprised when Jay starts talking, I guess he's usually quiet in the background. And then they burst out in laugher. Love it. It looks like they had really fun in those days, I guess all the pressure and some indifferences in the band killed the fun later. I like to remember Dr Hook from the early 70s, a fantastic band and Carry me Carrie is one of the decades best song - no doubt. I hope Dennis or Ray (or both) will visit Norway again this year.
I saw Dr Hook every year when they used to come to Brighton up until their Farewell Tour in '86. I loved them all, such a great fun group who could actually sing and play their instruments. I'm sad that Jance, Billy and John are no longer with us, RIP. Thanks for uploading this awesome video.
My wife loves Dr Hook and this is her favourite what a song even i love it and so does my 18 year old daughter she knows all the words to this song superb
@tukspeacepipes The passion in this song is unbelievable. No matter how stoned , drunk or whatever they are they always delivered top notch performances. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? I say yes.
They can say what they want about the drug use, but I sincerely believe it really made these performances as awesome as they are. They put everything into it, the feelings portrayed wouldn't have been the same without the drugs, my opinion only!
@Debbieforeveryoung I don't know if drugs made them better but they certainly made them feel better and their enjoyment made the music better.I know the Beatles used for a LONG time and they said acid or
something like that helped them and it being the 60's and early 70's it doesn't surprise me that most if no all artist felt closer their music through drugs
@daylanrayne I find in their later years, they didn't have the same enjoyment or fun in their music like they did in the early days. The music was still awesome, but the fun in it was gone, this is just my opinion only!
@Debbieforeveryoung Yes that is what it was, they had so much fun, that when you watched it, it made you realize just what wonderful performers they were. It was like you could feel how much they enjoyed each other. Later it just wasn't fun anymore and that took alot away from their performances, but I still love them!
I just love this video and SONG....what a devotion, emotion and feeling of the music, just pure and raw...these guys ...unbelievably awesome......Thank you Ronja as always a PLEASURE!!!!!! TC my friend..... ~ Marianne
Thank you soo very much! My earliest memories are of these guys. My mom has proof on audio. Most Underrated Band in the History of Ever!
