Have any of you guys ever think of starting a fish farm? This would help with this problem alot.I have thought of this already and i may do it one day.I wonder what do fishes eat ? :)
Of course this idea has already been exercised, but it's not efficient enough. Fish eat a variety of foods. Just search around, its different for salt-water fish as to freshwater fish.
The Chesapeake Bay used to generate $100 billion a year in revenue. It was one of the largest seafood suppliers in the USA.
Re-populating the Bay with oysters is our only hope. PLEASE see my video about a company that is running the Chesapeake Bay Oyster Re-Population Project =)
No it won't happen again. OK1 is creating new legislation which would make it impossible for the Bay to be dredged and over-farmed as it was before. By re-populating the oysters, there can be the harmony of both clean waters and a boost to the fisheries economy.
My videos has contact and Website info about OK1, you can contact them any time. I care about our world, and am a member of various environmental organizations. The Chesapeake Bay is too important to go ignored any longer!
I dont live anywhere near this bay but i guess this is a worldwide issue.I hope the legislation is passed and the bay returns to its natural form.People need to be more aware what is done to the environment because our kids have to live here also...
The guy that started seriously moving toward saving Chesapeake Bay (Oyster King 1's founder) wants to see it restored before he passes away, it's his dream.
It is important to save what we can, and Chesapeake Bay is the Nation's (USA) largest estuary. Saving it would mean GREAT things, for the environment, for the economy, for fisheries, for tourism. I hope OK1 saves the Bay!
I think they should just make a oyster farm there, It's not that much of a problem... It would save a ton of gas and pollution from the fishing boats too.
if we don't respect the planet and stop the pollution, this species of oyster will become extinct. eventually the species called humans will become extinct as well. go green.
stop putting pullution in the water, 50 millon could have fixed sewage plants and such then oysters and crabs would come back on there own
