your right. I had an airsoft gun that was black but it had a painted on orange tip and if you think about it anyone can get a real gun and do that. As for me, theres a small valley behind my house, so i go back there and airsoft with a mask and out of the publics way. But, occasionally, i leave a few bb's in my neighboorhood and people ask me. I just say i dropped them.

A cop is obligated to respond to calls of kids with guns or whatever. There's been plenty of times little kids have gotten a hold of real guns, and killed people. Stick to playing in the backyard, and don't display your airsoft in public. Someone might assume it is a real gun, and kill you with their real gun. As it is, it is legal to own realistic looking airsofts. Abuse your rights and the gov't will make them illegal.

If airsoft guns are legal in your city, and the guns comply with the law, then no the cops cannot do anything about you playing with your airsoft guns. If you are disturbing neigbors or the public with a loud C02 airsoft gun or something, they can tell you to stop being loud, but thats about it.

Well Cops have occasionally appeared at the fields I've played in. It's no big deal. Someone reports a cop, you drop your Airsoft gun on the floor and talk to them. They understand and usually seem interested at what we do and then move on. But I play in the forest remote areas not...where ever these kids r

your right. I had an airsoft gun that was black but it had a painted on orange tip and if you think about it anyone can get a real gun and do that. As for me, theres a small valley behind my house, so i go back there and airsoft with a mask and out of the publics way. But, occasionally, i leave a few bb's in my neighboorhood and people ask me. I just say i dropped them.

my friend was walkin down the street to go to the revine where we play airsoft, and he had a maching gun strapped to him, a shotgun, another fully automatic and a CO2 pistol, and then.....a cop drove by, he almost pulled a gun on him

hahaha, that was nice.. my son got in trouble the other for bringing a airsoft gun to the mall, ha, i dident know he had it, and he shot one of his friends, and someone called the police and he said 12 cops came! I knew all of them so they called me. Thats an advantage of having a dad as a cop.

A cop is obligated to respond to calls of kids with guns or whatever. There's been plenty of times little kids have gotten a hold of real guns, and killed people. Stick to playing in the backyard, and don't display your airsoft in public. Someone might assume it is a real gun, and kill you with their real gun. As it is, it is legal to own realistic looking airsofts. Abuse your rights and the gov't will make them illegal.

This is proof cops are bored out of their minds and are itching to find something to do. Kids playing with toy guns is bad or wrong!?!?! I cant imagine for one second why this is a problem. If a cop cant tell the difference between a 10-20 year old with a fake gun, and a criminal with a real one, has no right being a cop and deserves to be shot.

They are not gonna get inside your house without reason. If they see you outside the house with a replica gun, then they will chase you home directly and ask for you and the weapon you were just displaying on public.

If airsoft guns are legal in your city, and the guns comply with the law, then no the cops cannot do anything about you playing with your airsoft guns. If you are disturbing neigbors or the public with a loud C02 airsoft gun or something, they can tell you to stop being loud, but thats about it.

What I am getting at is that if you play in an open area, like a park, what happens when one of your BBs fly off course and hurt a small child or someone else without protection? Now THAT would have got you in a lot of trouble.
I'm not saying what you did was wrong, HEY! We should all have freedom, just try to be more safe next time, and try to play on private property, your basement, a designated field ect.

Even if you guys were only shooting each-other, and had orange tips/clear guns, there is something you should know;
First off, I doubt you guys were wearing any face protection. Even if you have those super cheap and weak minis, still, you need to protect your self.
My friend shot his eye out with an airsoft gun but that was because he was an idiot, and he wasn't expecting to shoot himself, and thus was not wearing goggles/mask. When people are aiming for you, you better wear protection.

The point isn't that it is illegal (however it is not advised), it is that playing in a public place and drawing law enforcement attention is going to give airsoft a bad name. It only takes a few idiots to get airsoft banned.
