@TipsterFlik the point of this video is to demonstrate the capabilities of the scramjet engine. The engine only works efficiently at high mach numbers. that's why there are all the "premature methods" (aka rockets used to propel it to mach 4.5) before the scramjet is used. The scramjet can theoretically provide a specific impulse of over 8 times traditional rockets used for space launches, hence why the research is so important. Also, scramjets have no moving parts, making the opposite of "shit"

The x51 can reach any point of the globe (from one place) in about 3.5 hours max when its traveling at mach 5.
When you spread launch points out across the earth you can hit any target on the globe well within one hour.
This rocket is not from NASA alone, its a coalition with the united states air force.
