I think the man is mentally ill. He certainly isn't preaching from the Bible, and the behaviour he and his church exhibits are deplorable.
He needs to take a step back, acknowledge his own humanity, and let Jesus do all the work. Until that happens, he is misrepresenting Christianity to those who choose to listen.

The bible contradicts itself in the first place. Apart from that Mormons believe that the Native Americans are a lost tribe of Israel, that if you are good you will get your own planet to be god over. They used to say that black people could only go to heaven as slave but changed that.
I find science often disproves religious belief and casts serious doubt over them even more often.

Tithing is a modern form of the 16th century act of Indulgence. Paying for sins committed while alive on earth to ensure a position in heaven, once dead. Completely illogical, even from God's POV as he should condemn such acts immediately. For what worth should material dollars matter to the lord on high? Regarding Tithing though, there is no mention of this practice in the New Testiment, rather to give as you felt fit (ie, the rich who can afford it should give more, and the poor shouldn't be expected at all).
It is the corrupt churches that continue to drive the practice of tithing to fill their coffers.
10 per cent is to help pay the bills..power, Maintenence etc....It's sought of like paying something forward. Give and it'll be givin back to you...I've never done that as i usually don't have 10 to give. But i try and help others in different ways...They talk about the 10percent like it's something new. Which it isn't... It's by choice.
