  • Sampler is 90% of the reason I use Live over any other DAW. Sampler is just so easy to understand, and the UI is fast well thoght out. Most software samplers (hardware too, for that matter) are just overly clunky and poorly designed. Kontakt is a fricken mess, and EXS24 is just silly. Sampler doesn't try to be a hardware sampler looking thing, it just does what it needs to do without any stupid photoshopped buttons and dials. Kinda awesome.

  • so many hilarious questions! read the manual!!

  • is there any similar plug in for compatible with Cubase 5? I rere need something like this haha

  • @hankthetank27 rewire ableton?!

  • Monolake sound rulez!!!!

  • Henke is a great ambient artist and I love Live, but this videos quality and sound are horrendous. Please give us a better copy!

  • anybody knows what the original sample is? My guess would be a vocal one, not sure ofc. Oh and is there a part 3 of this?

  • wtf does this do?

  • You can use it to sample song like you know how kanye west used daft punk harder beter faster stronger in the song stronger you can do stuff like that an take bits and pieces of songs and create some cool shit with them

  • fucking awesome! i was searching for exactly these tricks for a few a days now :D

  • sounds like me after 5 bongs.

  • uhhh where do i find "sampler" ??

  • u've gotta buy it

  • In ableton Live.

  • YOu buy it for 129 Usd

  • thank you

  • awesome!

  • thanks for your time

this is what i have been looking for

  • thats why everybody loves ableton

  • Ableton support is a bit average though.

  • Ableton is the shit!

  • Huh?? What are you on??

  • support full vst/i.Include original ableton instrument (operator-sampler-electric-tension-Impulse and lot of effect).Ableton is best popular Music Making/Editing software.Deadmau5,ChrisLake,Airwave use Ableton Live ;)

  • raawwrr fuck you!!! ... i love the video, thank you :)

  • TRANSFORMERS! lol

  • Wow that's pretty crazy. I bet you can make some wild basslines with that thing.

  • What fun! This is a much nicer way to make like glitch :)

  • Jeez, I never knew Ableton could f#ck with sounds like that. I learn something from everyone of Roberts vids.

  • Nothing new, people have done that since 1988 when the S1000 came. Though in realtime, pitchbend and messing with loop-parameters on screen with the Value and Data-knobs. Does it sound simple? It really is. Amazing how people think the art of sampling is re-invented as soon as a new sw comes out that does the same thing.

  • I know what you mean - Ensoniq samplers were great at this (think Autechre) - and they still are. Software is simply more accessible to more people now. Still Ableton is an amazing tool - and Mr Henke is one of few musicians who have got so involved in the creation of technology, AND simultaneously made great music - Go Monolake!

  • Yea you're right, it's just more accessible so people get to know the tricks (only shame on them for not have tried it before;). Henke has accomplished something for sure, loads of musicians has invented tools for their own secret use, but Henke has reached out with his interesting platform ideas.

  • shut up you know it all.

  • Information is everything.

  • this guy really is amazing... only in this video he seems like on drugs.. as if he had taken speed or something.. not trying to flamebait, nor make him look bad, only noticed it.

  • ah no, I guess he was only being recorded by someone else and was nervous....

  • enemyindisguise shut the f**k up, Henke is the koolest dude in the world.

  • sorry robert.. since 1999 u are really boring!

  • grief. the guy plays with sounds like they're childs games.

  • yes - sampler is the new instrument in 6 (like operator was for 5)

  • ableton is just amazing.

  • This is the song of Monolake you will be in another world...Thanks Robert

  • he needs to lay off the acid lol

  • miren barsa de carajito callense esa boca que utede ni saben lo que tan diciendo,

  • The program surely is great, but the sounds he creates are way ahead for this time... Sounds like Jarre going nuts on his first analog synth. Crap, but the concept was there.

  • This guy is nuts.

  • No he is a Guru.

  • nice 'earing

  • pretty sure he said "create very strange things." not "great!very strange things."

    dunce.

  • Great! very stange things.
