Wouldn't it make more sense for the soldier to get all those swords and shields? I mean think about it... the Demoman is a black scottish drunk demolitions expert and the soldier is a globe trotting soldier who seems to really enjoy his profession maybe too much. The eyelander made sense for the demo but only for the highlander refference. The rest make more sense for the soldier because he could have picked them up while deployed in other countries because he liked the history behind them.

@shunfglol Again... he was originally designed to be a defensive unit specializing in explosives. The swords turned him into an offensive unit who only occasionally uses explosives. The soldier was supposed to be the offensive explosives user.

@shunfglol The idea would have been that they would have given him more explosive based defensive weapons instead of the swords. This way he would not lack weapons. The engineer's minisentry still has to be set up. Granted it build fast but it is weaker and if you tried to set it up right infront of the enemy it usually dies quickly That set up is more for protecting the teleporter and dispensor in a foward base rather than charging into the enemy base.

Yea... with all the swords they have given the demo man he is reall not much of a demo man any more. I mean seriously... When is the last time you saw a demo man use a sticky bomb launcher? Infact ever since the persion persuader came out I don't even see as many of them using the grenade launcher because it prevents you from collecting ammo as ammo instead of collecting it as health. He has become an aggressive melee class instead of the defensive explosives expert he was originally made to be.
