  • Her voice is beautiful ^_^

  • Even Gheorghiu sings this better and she`s a spinto.

  • I'm not much of a fan of her even after hearing her sing at the Met a few times - YOU do have to admit that she is a fine singer and she can actually act a part well too - SHe does sing this quite well

  • I AM SO SICK OF OPERATIC SNOBS!!! Opera is close to die. Like it or not, it is changeing, and it should change. Callas, Tebaldi, Sutterland... They are dead! Netrebko is one of the greatest sopranos today. She has everything including vocal technique. Live with opera like this or die with jour divas who were far from perfect... They all had something to critisize and you know that, but still, you are silent about it... That's hypocrite!!!!

  • @User320g Well said! I agree. Those older singers were great (I especially love Joan Sutherland), but that combination of snobbery and nostalgia so prevelent on Youtube makes me ill.

  • @User320g My feelings exactly!

  • Well, well, well. There is a saying: The best captains are on the shore! And there are a bunch of captains on this page. If this was my channel I would disable the comments, so I wouldn't have to read all that garbage in my mail. Why can't people just enjoy the music and enjoy the fact that there a hundreds of different interpretations and NOT just the old and famous. Duh!!!

  • WOW! Effortless.

  • on aime ou on n'aime pas'c'est mon cas)mais il ne faut pas en dégouter les autres,il faut dire que je viens d'entendre Nino Machaidze et la difference est trop grande

  • while I normally don't waste time watching anyone who's under 50, since the greats are dead, i must admit that i found this version to be almost fabulous. kudos for her starting the second round on her back...but theatrical effects can't make up for that lack of vocal power. nice try love

  • Remarkable.I love Anna in this video....(¸.•¨¯`*•●♥Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ♥...

  • i listened to this one many times and obviously Anna Netrebko misses like A LOT of notes in those coloratura passages so i thought i'd listen to Sutherland because she is supposed to be the ultimate coloratura...but really, i like Netrebko's version much better. yes, it's not vocally perfect, but it says much more to me muscially and emotionally.

  • For cabaret .. this would be not too bad ... but as this is suposed to be Opera, it is really really really terrible and thousands miles away from how Bal canto must be sung.

Sorry Netrebko ... this is definately not for you.

  • I love Anna, indeed! But goooooosh - those coloraturas [and pronunciation] hahahhahah :D Well...that is some serious shit! :D But I still enjoy watching it

  • Beautiful, a well done Elvira. Daniel Morales

  • e' bona

  • Thinking about young singers, I prefer Dessieré Rancatore

  • God, what lungs she must have

  • Although I believe that she hasn't got the greatest training I'm very curious..Why does she hit very high note so easily?

  • @Remalia19 I'm believed to be a tenor and before I started any serious training my range extended until F# above (male) high C (which is ridiculously high). Now that I have actual classes and have to sing in the mask and so on, anything decent above C# is yet to be heard. So I gather that raw range doesn't have much to with technique. You can take Andrea Bocelli as another example.

  • RIP bel canto.

I can't believe this is happening on the same stage where Ponselle, Sutherland and Callas have sung.

  • @Pathetikos

Well, I'd say that Anna Moffo herself is an unreachable standard for Netrebko, not even uncommodatiding opera goddesses like Callas and Sutherland. :-)

  • @Pathetikos Callas never sang at the new Met.

  • *thoughtfully and ironically at the same time...*

Netrebko-haters and Netrebko-lovers are a wonderful and quite instructive sight to watch. :D

  • No matter what some say, I like her. She is very hot, a great actress, and has a nice and warm voice.

  • You know whats weird is that all of you think you are so smart and hmmm? I think shes singing at the Met but I'm not sure. You want to feel me in you great music geniuses.

  • because she already admitted unprepared for this role.

  • and she admitted to the NY Times "A Diva Who Breaks The Divadom Rules" that she sings sharp and often lacks the technique.

  • Saw her last week at SF opera. La Travi. She was simply remarkable.

  • I agree!

  • SueAnnNivens, you're right. It's painful.

  • Thugman she means you!

  • No, I looked at her videos and there are real bel canto singers. She means this video.

  • No she means you and the bashing with 5 names. It's realy painful.

  • She has a boring voice. RIP bel canto

  • He DUMBO do you know what belcanto is? No?

Ok, ask Thugman, comey, dks880, ccsabin, ccritters they also do not know it!!!

Her voice is not boring - you have too much earwax in the ears - go to clean!

  • Excellent!

  • Yes unfortunately the situation has changed.

Now Youtube is filled with videos of Netrebko's Puritani - her most embarassing role to day.

Although I'm sure she has no problems doing worse than this soon maybe with Linda di Chamounix.

    RIP Bel Canto.
