L'histoire a beau se répèter: certaines personnes sont encore sourdes. Beau travail. Très beau montage. Cinq étoiles. Puissent ces étoiles continuer à mettre la lumière sur ton talent.
CCCP's role in the Great Patriotic War is terribly misunderstood in the west, therefore it is good to post videos like this for those who do not realise that without the brave Soviet effort to stop the Nazi invasion, the war would have probably been won by Germany. Thank God for the Russians!
But it is also true, that in WWII the role of the Soviet Union was not only fighting against Hitler, but also collaborating with Nazi Germany in 1939-41. I would say the world is forgetting these dirty pages of WWII. I hope the world does not forget what the Soviets did to Finland, Poland and the Baltic states in 1939-41. I hope Russia, as the legal successor of the SU has the strength to face its crimes and past in the future.
Every country comitted crimes in this terrible war. My own country had both traitors and heroes. Sure, the Soviet Union did some fucked up things, but also great things. For example, it was the Soviet Union who freed the northern part of Norway from the Nazis. It's wrong to entirely demonize a country.
Why not say that about Nazi Germany, too? I lost my relatives to those who came to Estonia in 1940. One of my great aunts disappeared in 1941 and we don't know to this day what happened to her. I do not "demonize" the Soviet Union. I do not blame Russians as a nation, because that is too abstract. But the Soviet Union did not liberate Estonia, but I'm glad it liberated northern part of Norway from Nazis.
And isn't it a bit strange after all, that although the author of the film has made a dubious video about Estonia ("Good bay, Estonia") and you come here to teach me that it's wrong to entirely demonize a country. What can I say? I agree. But I hate double standards.
Excellent!!!!!!!!

Agreed. We can not allow the horrors of the past to be sanitized or trivialized. Those who fail to remember history are doomed to repeat it.
