When someone observes what appears to be an inequality between people, the resolution to it can not be postured as a right since rights are not established by taxation but rather according to the tenets of the nations principles which are vested by natural law.
Laws should only be established to harmonize without application to a single demographic, and prevent the juxtaposition of each citizens posterity to one another as a basis to govern by law.
Those who dismiss this under any pretense are changing the republic as it was interpreted in its beginnings and are in fact modifying their government which is stated as the intrinsic right of the people by the Declaration of Independence. I live in Australia and we have had Medicare here since the mid 1970s paid for out of 1% of taxes. Whether we are waged or not, aged or youthful, healthy or palliative we have access to free and good health services including General Practitioners, Psychologists, hospitals and soon dental. We can pay for private health premiums for extra services and greater choice (I do). I don't understand -- government-run Medicare has successfully provided care for citizens (with or without private industry co-pays) for years and years now. Should we drop Medicare because some folks think it doesn't work? Seems to me the same "socialized" arguments were made about Social Security in 1930. Why don't we just lower the age that Medicare kicks in -- maybe to 55 or 50? Keep pricey private care if you want, but let me and 100 million others have access to affordable options.

When I was talking to them about it, all I heard was stories of people waiting months or years to see a doctor or get the treatment they need. In fact, a lot of people come to America to get medical treatment. So why do we want something that no one else likes?

When I was visiting in Italy I got real sick and had to go to the emergency hospitol and I got the best, stress free help in Italy. No cost to me. I was thinking I will get a big fat bill when I return home but I didn't. I worked in healthcare for years and no one goes without care, any medical facility does not even have the right to turn away anyone in need of care. Even if the facility knows that the patient has no way to pay, we still have to treat them. So I would like to know where these people are who are left out on the street with no healthcare? If people want to complain about the prices, if you do pay for healthcare, you are paying a portion of the non-payers and the facility takes a loss as well.

These people are retired or are retiring. They are the bulk of the financial burden on medicare. Since we have aborted over 50,000,000 humans in the U.S. there are fewer people to contribute to national programs.

I live in Australia and we have had Medicare here since the mid 1970s paid for out of 1% of taxes. Whether we are waged or not, aged or youthful, healthy or palliative we have access to free and good health services including General Practitioners, Psychologists, hospitals and soon dental. We can pay for private health premiums for extra services and greater choice (I do). Histrionic campaigning against Obama's new plan in the US sounds like the lunatic fringe to me, watch the doco "Sicko".

I don't understand -- government-run Medicare has successfully provided care for citizens (with or without private industry co-pays) for years and years now. Should we drop Medicare because some folks think it doesn't work? Seems to me the same "socialized" arguments were made about Social Security in 1930. Why don't we just lower the age that Medicare kicks in -- maybe to 55 or 50? Keep pricey private care if you want, but let me and 100 million others have access to affordable options.

If we get the health care straightened out ,really push for wellness care, all the taxes paid can eventually go for more welfare reform. In the form of making them 'work' for that healthcare, check and food stamps. Make them work for it in the form of getting educated, taking job readiness classes and requiring them to secure either one in a reasonable amount of time.

When I was talking to them about it, all I heard was stories of people waiting months or years to see a doctor or get the treatment they need. Luka, while socialized Medicine might look good on paper, it will not solve our problems just make them worse. there are other ways to drive prices down to get great quality, afforadable healthcare. im sure you had some intersting taxes paying for your healthcare in poland. Were you there during the cold war?just curious. America will not turn its back on the destitute in this country, we also feed a great portion of the world. America is great and prosperous because it has resisted socialized medicine. Okay I'm not here to sell the michael moore film sicko but I will tellyou people this. When I was visiting in Italy I got real sick and had to go to the emergency hospitol and I got the best, stress free help in Italy. No cost to me. I was thinking I will get a big fat bill when I return home but I didn't. I was a tourist there not an illegal immagrant....but they do still treat illegals because I think that's just the way they are. That's the difference between them and us.

dont be an idiot 2 weeks you will see a cancer consualtant be tested and operated on if tests are conclusive for cancer and treated as nesscerary. i break my leg into hospital a and e x ray operation in a couple of days and a stay on the ward regualr physio and out patients oppintments for after care. dibeates regular checks and medication with gp's blood test's foot specialists ect gran even has a specially trained nurse to take care of all her medication total

I worked in healthcare for years and no one goes without care, any medical facility does not even have the right to turn away anyone in need of care. Even if the facility knows that the patient has no way to pay, we still have to treat them. So I would like to know where these people are who are left out on the street with no healthcare? If people want to complain about the prices, if you do pay for healthcare, you are paying a portion of the non-payers and the facility takes a loss as well.
