that depends on what rpm you launch from. I drag arce a 97 Cbr900 stretched 10 in. I launch it at 8k and have to have my foot on the shifter because I'm already close to the rev limiter. So 1 foot down is a proper launch.

Experience has much to do with any form of racing. I have a 2002 954. These bikes ran a 10.26 from the factory, because the extended torque curve.  The 09 R1 in the MCN road test in France only ran a 10.38. I think the 954 is still the lightest litre bike only weighing 428 lbs with a full gas tank.

The only 1000 that has a big horsepower advantage is the ZX-10. It is about ten more than all the other's. I had the gixxer two bikes ago so I am well awar of how fast it is. It does have more power than the CBR but not much, and a good rider can make up for the difference of the little bit it is.

Think about it, the 1000's have about 50 more hp than a 600 does, and they weigh almost the same. Unless the rider of the 1000 is a 300 plus pound fat ass, he should beat you, if not he can't ride. It is all realated to rider skill. The skilled rider would make the shift seconds before the unskilled which would result in a win like the one in the video. Even bigger difference from a start knowing the rpms to launch from. Reason why some 600cc beat the busa at the 1/4 mile
